Anita wonders why Kelly is chasing after Ed
Anita is in the café when Ed comes downstairs and goes out, totally ignoring Kelly;  after a moment’s thought, Kelly goes after him, to Anita’s amazement.
Britt is tidying up
Britt is trying to tidy the flat,
"It's not my stuff!"
and Chester protests that it is not his stuff.   Colin has left his phone behind again, and when it sounds, Britt finds a text from Gaynor;
Britt is angered by this text
“Sorry, will be late home.   Come over about 6, not 5.   I have Bara Brith.”   She deletes the text, then rushes out of the flat, looking furious.
"I want you to keep your nose out"
Kelly catches up with Ed in the shop, alleging that he is trying to avoid her.   “I just want you to keep your nose out of mine and Sioned’s business – there’s no need to be worried – everything’s fine,” he insists, I’m buying stuff for a nice dinner tonight, as she deserves a treat – everyone’s upset because it’s the inquest this week.”
Kelly wants them to be mates again
Kelly pleads that she only wants them to be mates again;
"But no interfering"
he agrees, “But no interfering,” he says, and they shake hands.   She leaves the shop and he breathes a sigh of relief.
Gwern looks very smart
Dani brings Gwern in to show Garry his wedding suit, which is very smart.
Garry has found yet another job for Dani to do
Garry wants Dani to take the box of decorations down and display them round the bar for Valentine’s Day.
"Doesn't he look smart, Siôn?"
Siôn comes in to collect Gwern,
"Come on, let's get you changed"
so Garry insists on going to help him change.   Siôn tells him, “Your Mam and I are going to be very proud of you!”
In the Deri, Dani moans about having to deal with all these decorations;
"Do you want a few shifts?"
Vicky arrives, having been summoned by Dani, who asks, “Do you want a few shifts in the week?   I can’t cope with everything – and you could do with the money.”
"What – with him?"
Vicky looks at Mathew and does not appear keen, but eventually agrees.
Mathew is eager to 'show her the ropes'
“Mathew can show you the ropes,” says Dani.
Britt, in a particularly angry mood, comes in
Britt arrives in the Deri flat
and goes straight upstairs, where Siôn and Gwern are just leaving.
"This wedding is a joke!"
Garry tells her that this wedding is a joke, but she stresses that she has no interest in Siôn and Gwyneth.
"She's only marrying Siôn for the money"
“I am interested in what happens to Gwern,” Garry replies, “Gwyneth more or less admitted to me that she is only marrying Siôn for the money and Y Felin – where does that leave Gwern if –
"When things fall apart!"
no, when – things fall apart?   I don’t want him going through a marriage break-up.   Can you have a word to warn him?”
"Why would Siôn listen to me?"
“Don’t be so soft,” exclaims Britt, “Why would Siôn listen to me?   If you’re so bothered, talk to him yourself!”   Garry can see that something is troubling her, and she reveals,
"Colin is having an affair!"
“Colin is having an affair!”   Garry laughs which makes Britt snarl, “I’m glad my personal life is such a joke!   He’s having an affair with Gaynor!”
Garry finds the idea risible
Garry tries to stifle some more laughter.   “It would be nice if you could be supportive sometimes!” she continues, “He got a text from her just now – what am I going to do?”
Mathew assures Dani that Garry is bound to have a nice surprise for her.
Dani expects nothing from Garry
“As if!   I didn’t get anything for St Dwynwen’s Day!” Dani rages, “I’ve bought a new top, and I bet he doesn’t even notice.”
"He may have something romantic lined up"
Mathew predicts that Garry has something romantic planned, but Dani dismisses champagne and flowers every February.   “A bit of romance is important too – you women love it!” Mathew adds, but Vicky describes this as rubbish, and agrees with Dani.
"I can't stand men who crawl!"
“I can’t stand men who buy us gifts to crawl to us!” Vicky adds, and Mathew considers she is playing ‘hard to get’.
"He said he was going to see Mark"
Britt tells Garry, “Colin said he was going to see Mark, but the text proves he wasn’t.”
"I can't see her fancying Colin"
Garry ponders that Gaynor is an attractive woman, but he cannot see her fancying Colin.   “He was good enough for her when they were married, wasn’t he?” asks Britt, “It’s easy to rekindle an old flame!”
"Just ask him straight out!"
Garry recommends that if she is really worried, to ask Colin outright and be honest about it.   “I’m going, as I can’t get any sense here!” she roars,
Britt leaves in an even worse mood
“It’s a shame you show more interest in Siôn’s and Gwyneth’s life than in mine!”
"Oh, Gwern's left his tie"
Garry discovers that Gwern has left his clip-on tie behind.
Anita finds time zones perplexing
In the café, Anita and Kelly wonder at the fact that Diane in Australia is ten hours ahead of Cwmderi, whereas Darren in Canada is eight hours behind.
Ed is on the receiving end of some charity
Ed returns, and Kelly offers him a couple of leftover doughnuts, which he gratefully accepts.   Anita regards this with suspicion;
"Your behaviour is a bit odd"
“You ran after him earlier – your behaviour is a bit odd.”
"I'm fine, Auntie Anita"
Kelly maintains that she is fine.
There is a loud knocking on the door of Llwyncelyn,
"You're keen, Colin!"
and as she goes to open it, Gaynor remarks, rather too loudly, “You’re keen, Colin!”   She is shocked to find that it is in fact Britt outside.
"I want to know what's going on!"
“Oh, keen, is it?” snarls Britt, as she barges her way in, “I want to know what’s going on between you and Colin –
"I'm not moving until I get the truth!"
and I’m not moving an inch until I get the truth!”   Gaynor emphasises that there is nothing going on;
"Why are you always texting him?"
“But you can’t explain why you’re always texting him, or why he comes here when he says he’s going to Mark’s,” Britt continues.
"That came from the shop"
Looking across the kitchen, she espies Bara Brith, which she assumes has been specially baked for Colin, but is informed that it came from the shop.    Britt roars, “I couldn’t care less if you had it airlifted from Harrod’s –
"I want to know why Colin is coming here tonight!"
I want to know why Colin is coming here tonight!”
Gaynor is forced to admit that Colin has composed a song for Valentine’s Day – for Britt;  this is greeted with scepticism.   “Are you serious?   OK then, sing it to me!”
A mellifluous rendition of Colin's song . . .
Reluctantly, Gaynor gives a rendition of the song, with a quite melodious voice:
You’re my sugar lump, in a cup and saucer,
Pure grapes in wine from Beaujolais;
There’s no-one prettier around here;
Our hearts are joined together;
Oh, Britt, I love you more than anything!

. . . which Britt finds quite touching
“Did Colin write that for me?” asks Britt incredulously.
"Will you calm down now?"
Gaynor confirms that they have been writing it together, and begs her to calm down,
In fact, Britt is quite overcome
and above all, not to tell Colin that she knows about the surprise.
"I'm not stupid – something is going on"
Kelly returns from work, and Anita is anxious to know what is going on, as she is not stupid.
"Look, promise you won't tell anyone . . ."
When Kelly first instructs her she is not to tell anyone, Anita jumps to conclusions
"That Sioned can be really nasty!"
and warns her, “Nothing good comes from messing around with a married man – especially married to Sioned – she can be really nasty!”
"Sioned is abusing him!"
Kelly shouts, “I’m not having an affair with Ed!   Sioned is abusing him – domestic violence.”
"What – little Sioned?"
Anita will not accept that little Sioned is hitting a big man like Ed.
"I've seen it with my own eyes!"
“I’ve seen it!   And it’s serious!” stresses Kelly, but Anita is sure that she is mistaken.
“You know Ed cannot be trusted,” Anita says, “I’m not listening to any more of this!”
"Not a word to anyone, mind!"
Kelly warns her that whatever she thinks, not to breathe a word to anyone;
"I won't – because it's not true!"
“I won’t say a word – because it’s not true!” is the reply.
Garry returns Gwern's tie
Garry turns up at Y Felin, with Gwern’s tie as an excuse;
"We've both done things we regret"
“Listen, Siôn, we’ve both done things we regret,” he begins, and Siôn wonders what Garry has done now.
"Biggest mistake of your life – Gwyneth!"
“I’m afraid you’re about to make the biggest mistake of your life – Gwyneth!   Sorry, Siôn, she’s only marrying you for your money,” he goes on,
"Pull the other one, Garry!"
and Siôn finds the suggestion ridiculous.   “She only wants security for herself and Gwern – she told me straight –
"She doesn't love you at all"
I’m sorry to tell you this, but she doesn’t love you at all.”   The response is another chuckle.
Ed calls at the Deri for a bottle of Prosecco,
"You can have it on the house"
which Dani lets him have ‘on the house’, as this week cannot be easy for any of them.   “I’m trying to cheer up Sioned,” he says,
"It will be better after Thursday"
“It will be better once Thursday is out of the way.”
"Romantic gifts are all right from him, then"
Mathew is confused that it is all right for Ed to give Sioned a romantic gift;  Vicky informs him, “What Sioned and Ed have is so special, he doesn’t have to crawl –
"You should learn something from him!"
you should learn something from him!”
"You Monks can't help yourselves"
Siôn scoffs, “You Monks can’t help yourselves – you’re always stirring!   Was this Britt’s idea?”
"Britt couldn't care less"
Garry points out that she could not care less who he marries.   Then Siôn asserts, “You’re jealous that I shall be your son’s step-father!   Don’t worry, I shall be a good parent to Gwern!”
"What – like you were with Chester?"
“Like you were with Chester?” demands Garry, “Look, you know what Gwyneth’s like – there’s no telling what she’ll do next.”
"Why are you trying to ruin his future?"
Siôn is becoming angry;  “Tell me – if I can give that child stability and a home, why are you trying to ruin his future?”   Garry insists that scenario will not happen, and he does not want Gwern to be hurt when the marriage does not work out.
"Right – you'ver had your say"
Siôn tells Garry that now he has had his say, he should go;
"I'm not letting the Monks spoil it again!"
“I’m happy – and I’m not going to let you Monks spoil that – again!”
Garry concludes, “You know what?   Britt was right – you might be a clever bloke, but you can be so stupid sometimes!”
"Cancel the wedding – for Gwern's sake!"
As he leaves, he turns and threatens, “Cancel the wedding – for Gwern’s sake!”
