Eifion arrives, wondering if there is room on the bus,

| "You'll have to find your own ticket" |
and Dai informs him there is one seat left, although he will have to find his own game ticket when they get there.

| "Knew the farm would be too much for you!" |
DJ comments, “I knew the farm would be too much for you – and it’s calving season. Are you going to leave Cadno all alone?”
When Eifion has gone, DJ asks who is going with Dai,

and when told that it is Kath Jones,

| "What about Diane?" |
he asks, “What about Diane” She is your wife!”
“Next time you see her, remind her of that!” snarls Dai, “The last I heard she was in the bush ‘on the lash’!

“I don’t know what she’s doing – that’s the problem!”

| Mark hands over the ncesssary tablets |
Mark selects the correct number of tablets for Kath; “Here you are – enough to last until Sunday. If you take more than one a day, you won’t have enough!”

| "I have managed to work that out!" |
Kath replies that although maths was not her strong point, she has already managed to work that one out, and pleads with him to trust her, reminding him that Dai will be there to look after her, and he has been very supportive.

“You’re treating me like a teenager!” she complains, then picks up her bag and leaves, bidding him, “Och aye the noo!”

Dani is angry when she receives a text from Garry, informing her that he has arranged to provide a buffet for the stag party tomorrow.

then trips over his briefcase on the floor.

Kath arrives at Bryntirion, where DJ is still looking dejected.

| Dai is all ready for the off |
Dai conducts a final check; “Cash, tickets, beer, clean pants – I’ve got everything – hi, ho, silver, as they say!” He picks up his bag, and DJ glumly hopes they enjoy themselves.

| Look who has suddenly appeared! |
Suddenly the door opens and Diane walks in; “Oh, a welcoming committee!” she exclaims,
and Dai demands what she is doing there.

“I live here!” she advises him, “Aren’t you glad to see me?”

| Kath is definitely not glad |
By her expression, Kath is certainly not glad.

| "If you'd phoned, I would have told you!" |
Dai tells Diane, “I’m on the way to Murrayfield – you didn’t know because you didn’t get in touch – if you had phoned, I would have told you! Right, come on, Kath – I gave your ticket to her, as I didn’t think you’d want it, wandering around Wagga Wagga!” Diane appears rather deflated.

“I’m thirsty and there’s a bus to catch!” insists Dai, while DJ tries to remind him that there are more important things than rugby.
Kath thinks she had better go, and DJ also intends to make himself scarce,

but at the moment a face appears round the door and enquires, “Can I come in now?” Diane announces this is Hannah, Emma’s daughter, who is visiting them.

As they eat their meal in the Deri, Cadno is displeased with Eifion’s decision to go to Scotland; “You don’t give me a thought!” He is sure that Morgan, Tycroes, will help her with the calving, but she goes on, “You never thought I might like to go – you didn’t ask me!”

DJ arrives and remarks, “I told you Cadno wouldn’t be happy – I’m concerned about Penrhewl, even if you’re not!” Eifion accuses him of only being concerned about Cadno,

Before he leaves, DJ addresses Cadno, “I left you, so you could be happy with Eifion – but you’re not happy at all.

Cadno confesses to Eifion that DJ may have a point.

Kath returns in a very subdued mood to Maes-y-Deri and informs Mark, “Diane came back – I don’t see how we can go now, and I was really looking forward to it.”

Mark’s primary concern is that he should get the tablets back, as she is rather upset. “Thanks for all your faith in me!” she rages,

but gives back the tablets.

As Diane loads the washing machine, Dai asks if she has anything to say to him, and she expresses regret about his trip to Scotland.

“I’m not talking about that – but your trip to Australia, via Ireland! Don’t I deserve an explanation?

Hannah comes in, complaining of the cold, and Dai asks her how her Mam is; “She fine – in love – with Dirk the berk!” Hannah answers, “He’s always at our house, nagging me about getting a job or doing the chores.

“Yes – you’re spot-on there!” agrees Dai, “How long’s this holiday?”

Diane rather non-committally suggests a couple of weeks, and Hannah thanks Dai for letting her stay.

Diane warns him, “Don’t you dare make her feel unwelcome here! It was very awkward in Australia!”
Dai points out that things have not been ‘hunky dory’ here either;

“You disappear for weeks without explanation, then waltz back in with someone else’s child!” Diane reminds him that Hannah is her grand-daughter.

Diane walks out of the room, and he goes on, “Where are you off to now? Kuala Lumpur? Timbuktu? The divorce court?

At Awyr Iach, DJ sits sullenly, surrounded by unmanned sewing machines; Anita comes in and comments, “Someone looks happy – what’s wrong?”

“Eifion is poncing around like some shampoo advert – I saw them arguing in the Deri – she’s not happy with him, I’m sure, but she told me to stay out of it.” Anita is impressed that he still cares, but he must accept that she has moved on;

Dani has an unwelcome phone call from Garry; “You can’t – there’s too much to do here!” she protests, then says, “Right then, forget it! See you tomorrow!”

“You must have been surprised to see Diane on the doorstep – did she say why she left Cwmderi?” Dai asks Hannah, and a voice from the kitchen warns him that it is not fair to ask her questions like that. “I’m none the wiser asking you, am I?” he demands.

Diane insists there is no point in raking up the past, and that they need to look forward. “I bet it was sunny in Australia – I’m surprised you didn’t stay there,” Dai remarks,
