Gethin keeps looking at the hammer
Next morning, Gethin is working on car in the garage, frequently looking across at the hammer, still wrapped in its cloth.   He walks over to it, looking thoroughly disgusted with himself.
"I don't want the gory details"
As he leans on the car, Garry arrives, and says, “I don’t want the gory details – just tell me he’s dead!   So I can get Dani prepared for the shock.”
"I didn't have the guts!"
Gethin confesses that he did not have the guts, and was kidding himself into believing he was strong enough.   Garry points out that no-one would have found out, as he said yesterday.
"I'm not a murderer!"
“I’m not a murderer!” snarls Gethin, and is told that the fact is he does not have a plan B, but Gethin is still adamant that he wants Moc to die.
"Of course I'm not racist!"
At Bryntirion, Dai has an irate customer on the phone;  “I’m not in the least bit racist, woman!” he rages, and suggests that he finds someone else to do the plastering for her.
"Who have you offended now?"
“Who have you offended now?” demands Diane, and he tells her it is another customer who thinks he wrote the graffiti;  she replies that she knows he did not.
"It's the jungle drums!"
“You and I know that, but the jungle drums say otherwise – and Joe Public out there listens to the jungle drums, doesn’t he?” roars Dai.   Diane comments that it almost came to a ‘rumble in the jungle’ between him and Josh,
"Why do you always wind people up?"
and asks why he always winds people up.   “People are unreasonable,” he complains, “How am I going to find a plasterer at short notice?”
"Even a monkey could do it!"
Then he has an idea;  “You haven’t forgotten how to use a trowel, have you?” he asks DJ, who replies that he is not a plasterer.   Dai goes on, “It’s only a bit of filler and finish – a monkey could do it.”   As Dai tells Diane to go and fetch a pair of overalls for DJ,
Letters addressed to Jason and Sara
he looks in his mother’s bag, and finds several letters addressed to Jason and Sara.   Then he hurries off to Awyr Iach.
"Someone to do what?"
As Dani walks into the garage, Gethin is asking Garry if he can find someone to do the job.   Garry explains that they were talking about changing the plugs on a Toyota, but she is not taken in by this.
"I know when you're lying!"
She says, “Are you hiding something?   I know when you’re lying!   You know, about Dad, don’t you?   Don’t act all innocent!   It’s mine and Gethin’s problem – no-one else’s.”
"I thought I could help"
Garry answers that he thought he could help if he knew the facts;
"Gethin wants to let him die!"
Dani enlightens him, “Gethin has locked him up, and now he’s playing with the idea of letting him die – you didn’t know that, did you?”   Garry confirms that he did know, and can understand why he wanted revenge.
Dani wants her father imprisoned . . .
“Moc will get what he deserves in prison, and Gethin promised to call the police.   He can sort this out, but within the law – I don’t want this baby born in prison!   If we let him die, we’ll get caught – have you given any thought to Cadno and Eifion?   We have to phone the police!”
. . . but Garry will not involve the police
Both Garry and Gethin insist the police are not going to be involved;  “You want to kill my father!” shouts Dani, and walks out.
Gethin concludes that she is right, and gets out his phone, but Garry stops him;
"If you can't do it, I'll get rid of Moc!"
“If you can’t do it, I’ll get rid of Moc!”
DJ distracts his mother . . .
At Awyr Iach, DJ asks his mother if she will check the ink in the printer, and then make him a cup of tea.
. . . so he can get the letters
He takes the envelopes from her bag, and finds that they have been opened.
"Look what fell out of your bag!"
“These fell out of your bag,” he tells her, and she denies that they are anything to do with her.   “Was there money in them?” he asks, “How much have you taken?”
She sheepishly admits that it was £50, and DJ points out that it was Ifan’s money.
"I need that money!"
She insists that she needs the money, although she has £2,000 left, after the previous theft.   She wants DJ to have the money, after she has gone.
"I want nice memories"
He informs her that he wants nice memories, not money that does not even belong to her.
Little Ifan arrives at Awyr Iach
Sara arrives, with the baby.
Dani is anxious
Dani sits on the sofa, looking very worried;
Sioned brings cappuccinos
Sioned comes in, unannounced, with two cappuccinos.   “Shattered, are you?” she asks, and Danny tells her she is trying to keep off the caffeine.
"Garry must be excited"
Sioned wants to see the pictures of the scan, and comments that Garry must be showing them to everyone. “I get the feeling you’re not very excited – is Garry more excited than you?
"Don't let him make the decision!"
“Don’t let him make the decision for you – it’s your body so if you don’t want it . . .”
Dani is keen to get rid of Sioned
Dani has had enough of this conversation, and wants Sioned to leave.
"You're straight, just like me!"
“That’s what I like about you – you’re straight, just like me,” Sioned remarks, as she goes.
Moc puts a pocket in his coat . . .
Moc is doing some needlework, making a long, narrow pocket inside his coat, an ideal size to contain a sawn-off shotgun.
. . . to accommodate his shotgun
He puts on the coat, and practices drawing the gun,
He points it at an imaginary target
pointing it at an imaginary target, and smiles.
Garry checks the lie of the land at Penrhewl
Garry looks at an aerial view of Penrhewl as Sioned enters;
Sioned says she will accept Garry's offer
she announces that she and Dani have become close friends recently, and she does not want to hurt her.   “This is an exciting time for her, just like me – I accept your offer – I’m willing to move to Cardiff.   It will be a fresh start for me.”
Garry says that he will find her a flat as soon as he can,
"I knew there would be a catch!"
but there is a catch;  she wants £25,000 now, which she alleges is not unreasonable.
"If I'm happy, our baby will be happy"
“If I’m happy, our baby will be happy.   I’m sure you can get hold of the money.”
Sara is surprised by people's generosity
Jason and Sara are opening letters, containing monetary gifts for the baby;
"Ifan brings out the best in people!"
DJ pointedly remarks to his mother, “Ifan brings out the best in people!”   Sara estimates they now have over £200.
"What – you're giving it away?"
Linda asks what they are going to do with it, and is offended, when she is told that it will go to the Downs Support Group to which they belong.
They leave with the baby,
Linda has second thoughts . . .
and Linda appears to be suffering with her conscience;  she takes money from her purse
. . . and gives the money back
and put it with the other gifts in a jar.   DJ comments, “I’m sure you’d feel better if you gave Dad’s money back too.”   She glowers at him.
Sioned gets the cash, then changes her mind . . .
Garry presents Sioned with a jiffy bag full of money, which she describes as, “A small price to pay!”   He shows her a photo of the flat he is considering buying for her, but then she announces she is having second thoughts about Cardiff.   “I’m not moving anywhere,”
. . . and they fight over the money
so he snatches back the money.
She says that she would go mad on her own, but he warns that she cannot stay here.
"I'll tell everyone it's Ed's baby"
She proposes, “I’ll tell everyone that Ed is the baby’s father – that way you can see him or her growing up.”
Garry is worried the two babies will look alike
Garry is afraid that the two babies might look alike, but she protests that it is a bit too late to worry about that now.   “I'm taking the pressure off you here – bringing up a child is costly – and only the best will do for our baby!”   So saying, she grabs the money, and Garry leaves.
"You wouldn't be allowed here if people knew the truth"
DJ warns his mother that she would not be allowed into Awyr Iach if people found out about the money,
"I haven't had much luck lately!"
but her excuse is that she has not had much luck recently.   “You’ve still got £2,000 of Dad’s money!” he reminds her,
DJ wants to pay it all back
“Listen, if I could find the rest of the money, we could pay it all back – I saved up some money over the years.
"I went to America too"
“I went to America too – it’s only right that I pay it back.”
Dani wants to change the past
Dani confides to Garry that she would like to delete parts of her past, but she cannot do that, and Garry has similar feelings.   He tells her that he saw Gethin earlier;
Garry tells Dani more lies about Moc
“He’ll try to persuade Moc to catch the next flight back to Thailand.   I persuaded him that was the best option – it offers Moc a way out, now that no-one wants to help him.
"You won't see Moc again!"
“We agreed to keep you out of this – you won’t see Moc again!”
He leaves, saying that he has work to do, and will be back later;
Dani is very concerned
Dani still looks very anxious.
"My name is dirt on this social media!"
At APD, Dai rants, “My name is dirt on this social media!   Twitter and Facebook!   This place is been dead all morning, and a woman cancelled on the phone, DJ refused to help me and even Jason has turned against me.
"I wouldn't take Josh for a game of golf"
“Look, I admit I wouldn’t take Josh for a game of golf – I would be worried that he would steal my balls – but I’m not racist!   And I didn’t write that graffiti on the board outside the café!
"I'm getting worried, Diane!"
“For goodness’ sake, Diane, I’m getting worried!”
She fears how this might affect her reputation
She seems more concerned about how this will affect her position as a councillor, who is supposed to be neutral.   “Right, I’ll prove that I love every Tom, Dick and Harry in the village!” insists Dai.
Dai attempts to change people's perception of him
He fixes a notice to the shop door, reading, “GYPSIES WELCOME.”
Garry approaches the farm . . .
Garry arrives at Penrhewl, passing a tractor,
. . . and finds that the Moc has bolted
but is concerned to find that the barn door is open.
No – Moc is definitely not there
He looks inside, and finds the wrecking bar used in the escape, and hurries away with it.
DJ checks that no-one is around
DJ creeps into APD and checks that the coast is clear,
Dai sees him put down the envelope
then takes out an envelope of money and puts it down by the cash register, but is seen by Dai, who has just come in.   The envelope has fallen on the floor,
"Nothing to do with me!"
so Dai retrieves it and asks where DJ got it.   He, rather unconvincingly, protests that it is nothing to do with him.
Dai saw it fall from his hands,
Diane is astounded
and Diane is amazed by the amount of money inside.   “There’s one way to find out the truth,” decides Dai,
"Well, I shall have to check the new CCTV!"
“The CCTV – we’ve had it since Ronald Biggs waltzed in here a couple of weeks ago – and the camera never lies.”
"I found it outside the door"
Then DJ alleges that he found it outside the door, on the pavement.
"Is it the stolen money?"
Dai advises him, “I wasn’t born yesterday – tell me the truth, is it the money that was stolen from here?”   DJ explains that he borrowed it.
"Nefi wen!"
“Nefi wen!” explodes Dai, “I’ve accused half the village of stealing that money – including Jason – and now I find out that it was my son!   Go on, get out of my sight!”
Garry find the empty gun cabinet . . .
Garry cautiously enters the farmhouse, wielding the wrecking bar, and finds the empty gun cabinet, which he finds concerning.
. . . but someone is watching
As he goes into the kitchen, someone is watching.
In the kitchen, he hears a sound . . .
Garry hears a sound behind him,
. . . and finds himself staring down a gunbarrel
and turns to find a shotgun pointed at him;  Moc assumes that Dani sent him here, and snatches the wrecking bar from him.
"You stole my daughter!"
“You stole my daughter and poisoned her mind!” growls Moc, “Why do you have to poke your nose into everything?”   He pulls the triggers of the unloaded gun, and Garry flinches;
Garry crashes to the floor
then Moc knocks Garry flying with the gun, sending him to the floor, semi-conscious.   Moc raises the gun and points it at the terrified Garry.
