27 April 2017

The towel is stuffed behind a cushion
Hywel is drying his hair with a towel, which he hides under a cushion when he hears Sheryl returning;
"It's really quiet at the salon"
he was not expecting her back, but as it is really quiet at the salon, she came home for lunch.
"What's that funny smell?"
“What’s that funny smell?” she asks, but he says he cannot smell anything.   Hywel is very keen to make some lunch, but she insists, “There’s no rush, is there?
"There's a lot we can do in an hour!"
“There’s a lot we can do in an hour.”   She is troubled by his strange behaviour,
"I've lost my appetite"
and decides to go back to work instead, saying that she has lost her appetite.
Dani runs after Garry
As Sheryl comes out of the front door, Dani is chasing across the street after Garry;  she has been thinking about Deri Deithio.
"My heart's not in it"
“I don’t want to run it – my heart’s not in it,” she says;  he readily agrees that it can be just in her name.   She is surprised, and tells him she wants to be in the salon, trying something new, something niche.
Sioned eavesdrops
Sioned is within earshot, and listens in to their conversation.
"Whatever you decide to do!"
Garry insists he will support Danny in anything she decides to do.
Garry wonders if Sioned has got the message
This does not impress Sioned.
"No-one has been to investigate"
At Penrhewl, Eifion is complaining on the phone that no one has been to investigate his complaint;
"I'll eat that caravan!"
he tells Cadno that he will eat the caravan if anyone actually comes out.   He was told to reason with the intruder, so Cadno makes up her mind that she will go and ‘reason’ with Josh.
"How about going out for a meal?"
In the salon, Hywel suggests that they go out for a meal tonight,
"I'd prefer to stay in"
but Sheryl points out that they have a fridge full of food and she would prefer to stay in.   He offers to cook and get a bottle of her favourite wine from the Deri.   He apologises for the misunderstanding earlier, caused, he says, by his worries about CwmFM.
"Right, I'll leave you to it"
Dani rushes in with exciting news, and Hywel leaves them in peace.   “What would you say if I offered a new service based here?” Dani enquires,
At this stage, Dani is rather vague as to what she wants to do
“I'm not sure what – is the back room available?   I want to specialise in something niche.”
Sioned, the conversation-stopper
The conversation comes to an abrupt halt when Sioned walks in, to make an appointment for a haircut.
"You're not welcome here!"
“You’re not welcome here!” Sheryl tells her, “There are women out there who are being abused, and can’t say anything.   Every time someone like you lies, it makes it harder for them – let alone what you did to Ed!
"You're a selfish cow!"
“You’re a selfish cow, and I don’t want you near this place again!”
"You never do a good job, anyway!"
Sioned mutters that Sheryl never does a good job anyway, turns and stalks off.
"Don't lose your temper, Eifion!"
Eifion and Cadno stride through the field towards the caravan;  she warns him not to lose his temper.
Kath opens the door
They are surprised when Kath opens the door;  she says she is welcoming Josh, then tells him that someone wants a word with him.
Cadno asks if he has had a chance to think about moving on;  this caravan undermines Penrhewl’s business.
"I'm just settling here"
Josh emphasises that he does not want to move, as he is starting to settle here.
"Listen, you parasite!"
Eifion does lose his temper;  “Listen, you parasite,” he shouts, “You have no right to be here!” and the situation almost degenerates into fisticuffs.
"Go and play with your tractor!"
Kath demands whether the police are likely to be on his side, threatening an old man.
"That was a sweeping success!"
Cadno and Eifion walk away, as Cadno cynically remarks, “Well, that was a sweeping success!”
"Fancy going out somewhere, Iolo?"
Siôn phones Iolo, suggesting it would be nice to go out somewhere, but Iolo has other plans,
Siôn watches the telly instead
so he sits on the sofa and turns on the television.
Another of Garry's dodgy deals?
In the garage, Garry is on the phone;  he says he cannot promise anything, but Monday should be all right.   Then he notices someone hanging around;
"Josh Smith, scrap merchant"
Josh introduces himself, but Garry stresses that he is not looking for a mechanic.   “I bet you would like the place tidier than this,” Josh tells him, and Garry agrees that he can clear the scrap on the floor but nothing from the shelves.
"I know where everything is!"
Garry reminds Josh, “I know what’s here, and where it is, so dont get any ideas!
Fifty quid sounds very nice to Josh
“What shall we say – fifty quid?”
"You know, the fish that eat feet"
In the Deri, Sheryl has an idea;  “How about those fish?   You know, the ones that eat feet.”
"Is there any demand for it in Cwmderi?"
Dani does not think there will be a demand for it in Cwmderi, but then thinks she could specialise in everything to do with feet – massages, pedicures, and those fish.
"The place to go for pretty feet"
The salon will be the place to go for pretty feet.   Dani will look into prices, and Sheryl has an idea which might save some money on the massages.
"Are those oils still at Y Felin?"
On her way out, she meets Siôn and asks whether the oils that Gwyneth left behind are still at Y Felin, as she may have found them a home.
"Ah, yes, Garra Rufa Fish"
Dani looks on her phone and finds information about Garra Rufa Fish;  Garry is interested in how much these fish will cost.
"You don't have that sort of money"
She tells him £1,500, and he reminds her she does not have £1,500.
She thought she could use some money from the joint account;
"There aren't enough feet in the area!"
“For fish and a few tanks?” he demands, “There aren’t enough feet in the area to make it worth while!”   She emphasises that these businesses do well, and once you have bought the fish, it is quite cheap.
Garry insists it is too expensive,
"You said 'whatever makes you happy'!"
but she protests,  “Whatever makes you happy – that’s what you said.”   He replies that was before he realised how much her happiness cost, and flatly refuses to agree.
Dani dumps her brochures in the bin;
Sioned arrives in the flat . . .
just then Sioned arrives, wanting to thank Dani for trying to stick up for her in the salon earlier.   She asks if there is something wrong, and is told about Garry’s decision.
. . . and Dani tells her about the fish
Dani explains about the fish that nibble feet, and Garry saying no.
"You have to get his permission?"
“You have to get his permission?” Sioned replies incredulously, “I presume he asks you before he splashes out!   It sounds like a good idea to me, so if this is what you want, go for it!
"If he explodes, it will be too late!"
“If Garry explodes, it will be too late by then – the fish will be on their way.
They investigate the weird-smelling substances
At Y Felin, Sheryl is smelling the oils, and finding them rather strong;  “Who would want a massage with that?” she asks Siôn, “I take it you don't miss Gwyneth.”
"I thought Gwyneth was my last chance"
He explains that he thought she was the last chance he had of finding a partner his age.   “Are you in a hurry?   I've just opened a bottle,” he says.
Siôn pours a glass of wine
Sheryl is sure that someone will come along, someone who appreciates Siôn.
"Yes, that's me, Hywel"
In the Deri, Garry pays Josh, and Hywel asks if he is the one at Penrhewl.   Dani comments to Hywel that Sheryl seems happy.
"That smells like those shops Gwyneth liked"
At Y Felin, they smell another of the oils, and Siôn comments that it  smells like those shops that Gwyneth liked – full of bells and joss sticks.
"You didn't really suit each other, did you?"
“You and Gwyneth really didn’t suit each other, did you?” observes Sheryl, and Siôn replies that people said the same about Britt.
"I wonder whether Hywel and I suit each other"
“I sometimes wonder whether Hywel and I suit each other,” muses Sheryl, “I’m worried that he’s just being nice.”
"Hywel wouldn't pretend about a thing like that"
Siôn does not think that Hywel would pretend.   She goes on, “He has just been a bit distant today, that’s all – he didn’t want me near him –
"He was lying!"
“he said CwmFM was on his mind, but he was lying.”
"You need to talk"
Siôn advises that they need to talk, but she admits, “I don’t think I’m ready to hear the truth.   He may love me, but how can he fancy me?   I don’t have any hair!”   Siôn urges her to give Hywel some credit, to explain how she feels, and points out he may be worried about something.
An unwelcome surprise for Josh and Kath . . .
When Josh’s orange van arrives at the caravan,
. . . there is a member of the constabulary
he finds Cadno and Eifion there with a police constable.   “Has Rambo told you what he did earlier?   I would call that aggressive behaviour,” says Kath.
Cadno insists that they are only protecting their land,
"Will you consider moving on?"
and the constable asks if Josh will consider moving, but Josh is adamant that he has nowhere else to go, and Kath demands whether they expect him to sleep with the sheep.
The policeman says he is trying to find another site for Mr Smith, but encourages them not to argue in the meantime;  then he goes.   Kath points out that Josh has rights, and they both go into the caravan for a cup of tea.
"I'm going to do something about this!"
Eifion vows that he is going to do something about this
Garry proves somewhat intractable
Dani promises Garry that she will draw up a business plan, and if he is not happy with the figures, they will forget it.   He thought they had already forgotten about it.   Sioned is nearby, listening in, as Dani protests, “It’s one rule for you, and another for me, isn’t it?”
He goes to serve Llinos . . .
He simply walks away to serve Llinos.
. . . and Sioned slips upstairs, unnoticed
Dani goes upstairs, and Sioned follows.
"Do you still fancy me?"
Sheryl comes into the pub and finds Hywel, looking pensive.   “We have to talk,” she tells him, “Do you still fancy me?   Is the alopecia a problem?”   He replies that it is not, so she wants to know what is wrong.   “If we can’t be honest with each other, we won’t get through this!” Sheryl insists.
"I've got nits!"
Hywel rather self-consciously confesses, “I’ve got nits – and Esther, too!   I didn’t tell you in case you got upset, and I didn’t want you near me with this stuff in my hair.   I didn’t know how you would react.”
Sheryl finds this amusing
By this time Sheryl is laughing;  “If you’d just told me, you would have avoided an afternoon of stress!”   He is annoyed that he still managed to upset her.   Sheryl stresses that they have to be more open with each other, but when he wants to kiss her,
"I don't want nits in my wig!"
she says, “No – I may not have any hair, but I don’t want nits in my wig!”
"All he wants is someone to boss around"
Dani tells Sioned, “There’s no discussion!   All Garry wants is someone to boss around and to have his children!   If it was up to him, we would have a hundred children by now!
"I don't even know if I want one"
“I don’t even know if I want one.   I’m fed up with him telling me what to do all the time!”
"Show him who's boss!"
“You know what the answer is,” Sioned replies, “Show him who’s boss – you work hard for that money, and you have every right to invest it any way you like.”
After a moment’s thought, Dani exclaims, “You’re right!”
Sioned has persuaded Dani . . .
and sits down at the laptop, as  Sioned continues to tell her she deserves to get what she wants.
. . . who fills in her details on the order
Dani completes the online details, as Sioned stands behind her, looking particularly smug.
Parked in the countryside . . .
Towards the caravan, parked in its idyllic spot in the meadow, comes a tractor, towing a muck-spreader.
. . . the caravan is joined by a muck-spreader
It stops alongside the caravan,
Despite Cadno's protests . . .
as Cadno runs towards it, shouting to Eifion that this is not the way.
. . . Eifion is quite determined
“We’ve tried everything else!” he replies, “He’s not getting the better of me!”
The muck starts flying. . .
He activates the muck-spreader, and the noxious substance is sprayed over the caravan, much to Eifion’s amusement;
. . . and even Cadno has to laugh
even Cadno has to laugh.
Kath hurriedly closes the window
Kath hurries to close the open window,
It really is rather stupid to open the door . . .
and Josh comes to the door to remonstrate, but receives a hail of effluent,
. . . in these circumstances
and quickly retreats.
