| "Large gin and tonic" |
Sioned walks into the Deri and asks for a large gin and tonic;
| "Are you sure you should be drinking?" |
“Are you sure you should be drinking?” asks Garry, and she wonders if he cares.
| "More risky in the first three months" |
She replies, “Maybe you have a point – they say it’s more risky in the first three months. These are the sort of decisions I have to make now – whether to enjoy this gin and tonic, or to spare a thought for someone else.”
| Garry gives her the gin and tonic . . . |
He gives her the drink and she goes to sit down.
| . . . but when she is about to drink it . . . |
As she is about to take a sip, Garry tells,
| . . . he stops her |
“You shouldn’t be doing that, no matter who the father is! What are you trying to do?” She replies that she is trying to make him take her seriously; she insists that she is expecting his baby, and is giving him a chance to be part of it, before she makes all the decisions herself.
| "If I'm going to get rid of it . . ." |
“If I’m going to get rid of it, it doesn’t matter how much gin I drink!” and she walks off out of the pub.
| Tyler hears that Hannah has taken the blame |
Gaynor brings the news to Tyler that Hannah has admitted sh was behind the essays scam, and he asks if she believes that is true.
| "Now it's nothing to do with the school!" |
“The fact is, she is not a pupil, so it has nothing to do with the school. It saves us headache, and it’s better for you in the long run,” Gaynor tells him,
| "Chester is 'innocent'!" Yeah, right |
“Chester is ‘innocent’, but at least we know this will not affect your career.”
She advises him to be very careful if he offers any help to pupils outside of school, and he confirms he has learned his lesson –
| "I won't trust anyone again" |
he will not trust anyone again, especially Chester Monk.
| Kelly is full of the joys of Spring . . . |
In the café, Kelly is in an extremely good mood as she brings Iolo his food; “The sky is blue, the birds are singing –
| . . . which amuses Iolo |
“and I’m absolutely desperate to talk to someone!” she tells him, “It’s a man – so predictable, so boring. I really like him! “He’s Morgan – it’s to do with this animal-rights thingy.” She is unable to show Iolo a photo, as he does not do a lot of social media.
| "So that's why I get an extra large slice of carrot cake!" |
“He is 20 years my senior, but he’s hot!” she continues,
| "I feel we've got a connection!" |
“It’s weird, but I feel we’ve got a connection.”
| "Find out if he's married first" |
Iolo advises that before she goes any further, she should find out whether he is married.
| Tyler advises that the matter has been dropped |
Then Tyler comes in and reports that the matter has been dropped, and Hannah Francis has confessed that she was behind the essays.
| "So Chester's got away with it again!" |
Iolo is furious; “So Chester’s got away with it again! He almost ruined your career!” Tyler does not want to waste any more energy on that idiot, but Iolo gets up and hurries out of the café.
| Chester and his mates have a laugh |
By the salon, Chester and three of his mates are laughing about something on his phone; Iolo marches across to them
| "Hannah must think you're a real man!" |
and says, “I hear you’ve let Hannah take the blame for your latest antics! She must think you’re a real man, having to save your skin like that! “You were going to let Dad take the blame – and Tyler!”
| "What is the point of people like you?" |
Chester and his friends start to leave, as Iolo demands, “What is the point of people like you? You don’t do anything of any use, only destroy people’s lives!”
| "Or you, for that matter!" |
Chester responds with, “And what’s the point of people like you? Depressed, obsessed with OCD, or some issue or other!”
| Meanwhile, all this is being recorded for posterity |
The female member of group is recording this altercation on her phone. Iolo tells him that Hannah has had a lucky escape, Chester grabs him,
| Iolo pins him against the wall . . . |
but Iolo pins him against the wall.
“What are you going to do – hit me with your handbag?” Chester laughs.
| . . . until he is dragged away by Tyler |
Tyler comes hurtling out of the café and drags Iolo away. Chester vows to get him for this, but Iolo predicts he will get someone else to do it for him.
| Kelly is shocked by the news |
As Kelly arrives home, her phone rings;
| Strangely, Morgan does not look very desperate |
Morgan, who is actually in a hotel room, puts on a breathless and a desperate voice, to tell her that something has happened. “The protest went wrong – I need help! Can I come over to you? I don’t want anyone to see me!”
| Kelly is comprehensively taken in |
Kelly gives him the address and tells him to come in the back way.
| Sioned has visited the surgery |
Garry sees Sioned emerge from the surgery, and follows her along the back street;
| "Are you going to get rid of it?" |
“Are you going to get rid of it?” he demands.
| "Well, that is one option" |
She admits that is an option, and he wants to come up to the flat.
| "Elgan is taking me to a wedding" |
Gaynor is at the salon, having her nails done, and tells Sheryl she is going to a wedding – a friend of Elgan’s.
| "It's getting serious, then!" |
“Oh, it’s getting serious then, if he’s invited you to a wedding!” comments Sheryl, and is really happy for her, as Elgan is lovely. “He has been very good to me lately –
| "I'm going to see a trichologist tomorrow" |
“I’m going to see a trichologist in London tomorrow.” They deliberate over nail varnish colours.
Told that the wedding is in the Cotswolds, Sheryl asks if Gaynor will be staying there;
| "It's a bit awkward, to be honest" |
“It’s a bit awkward, to be honest,” replies Gaynor, “Nothing’s happened between us yet, so I’m not sure if I should book a room of my own – I wonder if he regards me only as a friend – not that I want to jump into bed or anything, but he hasn’t even held my hand.”
| "He might be waiting for a sign from you" |
Sheryl thinks he might need a sign from her, but Gaynor maintains that she is too old for this dating business.
| "We have to do a DNA test" |
Up in Sioned’s flat, Garry tells her, “I'm going to take it that what you say is true, but, as you say, we have to do a DNA test when the baby arrives. You will not be able to deny the results when we get them.”
| "You won't be able to deny it, either" |
She points out that neither will he be able to.
| "What would you expect from me?" |
“If I acknowledge that you’re carrying my child, what would you expect from me?” he asks.
| "I want you – and I want us to be a family!" |
She replies unequivocally, “I want you – and I want us to be a family!”
“That’s the choice, is it? You’re asking me to give up everything, or you’ll have an abortion?”
She insists that he is making her sound unreasonable, but she wants him to give it serious thought,
| "We make a perfect team" |
as they will make a perfect team – in every way – in business, they share the same principles and ambitions, and now she is expecting his baby. “Doesn’t that appeal to you?” but he answers that his situation is not simple. “Now you’ve acknowledged your baby, I’m willing to give you time to sort it all out.”
| "If you say anything to anybody . . ." |
He warns her not to tell Dani. “If you say anything to anybody, I will not want any more to do with you, baby or no baby!” Sioned reminds him this is not just about him and Dani – she will not wait for ever.
He does not want to be here when Kelly’s aunt comes home,
| "Auntie Anita won't be back for ages" |
but she points out that Anita will be in the cinema for ages, and invites him to go up and have a shower, while she makes something to eat.
| Chester edits the recording . . . |
Chester is on his laptop, editing the recording made by his friend,
| . . . before sending it to Gaynor |
and then forwards it to Gaynor. She hears the words, “Don’t touch me!” shouted by Iolo and sees the caption which reads, “Teacher’s husband attacks a pupil!” Then Tyler rushes over to pull Iolo away.
| "What's Chester doing now?" |
Gaynor is outraged.
| Kelly serves the food to Morgan |
Kelly has made a meal for Morgan, which he appreciates;
| He is going to lie low in Spain, he tells her |
he tells her he has contacted friends who live near Madrid, where he will hide for a couple of months.
| "Don't you have anyone who will miss you?" |
She asks if he has any family nearby who will miss him, but he replies that his children are grown up and have their own lives. He has two ex-wives, but is single now.
“I hope all this hasn’t put you off your campaign against Penrhewl,” he says,
| "I'm more determined than ever!" |
but Kelly maintains that she is now more determined, and thinks that it is amazing what he does – the lengths he goes to for his beliefs.
| "I want to help you with something practical" |
Before he goes away, he would like to do something to help with their campaign – something practical, as he can go to places where she and Gethin cannot.
When she proposes phoning Gethin, he advises against it, and protests that he has to sort out somewhere to stay.
| Gaynor shows them the video . . . |
Gaynor visits number 7, and shows Iolo and Tyler the video from Chester.
| . . . and does not know what Chester intends to do |
She has no idea what Chester will do with it but just wanted to warn them.
| "Probably the worst idea that comes into his head!" |
He will probably carry out the worst idea that comes into his head!” she sighs.
| He knows exactly where the tea towels are kept |
Morgan is doing the washing-up; when Kelly looks for a tea towel, he immediately goes to the right cupboard to find one, which she finds rather uncanny.
| "Anita's on her way back" |
Then there is a text from Anita, who is on her way back from Carmarthen, so Morgan decides it is time to go.
| "I don't want to involve your Aunt" |
Kelly is sure that Anita will be sympathetic to his plight, but he does not want to involve her.
| Kelly rings her mother for a favour |
Kelly has an idea, and phones her mother, explaining she wants the house to herself for a couple of days; “There’s this bloke, he’s in college, and we need a bit of space.
| "I need to get rid of Auntie Anita for a few days" |
“I need to get rid of Auntie Anita for a few days.” Evidently, her mother agrees, and Kelly tells Morgan that Anita will be invited to stay there from Wednesday –
| "After Wednesday, the spare room is yours" |
and then the spare room is his.
| Kelly finds all this very exciting |
“I want to help you, and I want you to help Gethin and me with the campaign against Penrhewl!” she insists, “Honestly, I haven’t done anything as exciting as this for ages!
| Moc smiles at another successfully manipulated woman |
“You’ll do anything for what you believe in – people like you are really rare. I’ll phone you to tell you when the coast is clear.”
| She will feel so stupid when she learns the truth |
He leaves, and Kelly looks very happy.
