"You'll be late for school"
At Maes-y-Deri, Mark tells Ricky to hurry up or he will be late to school;  “What have I said about using the Wi-Fi?” grumbles Debbie,
They evidently do not have unlimited broadband
“It’s no wonder we reach the limit every month,” then she looks at the laptop screen.
Brennan calls Ricky a 'Gyppo'
“What’s this on your page?   Brennan is calling you a gyppo – he says, ‘Ready for the game on Saturday?   You’ll be at home in a muddy field, like your friends in the caravan.’   I’m going to have a word with Gaynor!”
Ricky urges her to leave it;
"Are you having trouble at school?"
Mark asks if he is having trouble at school because of Josh, but Ricky replies that a lot of his friends think Josh is cool.   Debbie moans, “It’s Kath’s fault – she brought him to Cwmderi!”
"Right, I'm going!"
and Ricky leaves to school.
"Leave it for now, Debs"
Mark comments that if it does not trouble Ricky, they should leave it for now, but she does not seem willing to do so.

At school, Ffion enquiries whether Gaynor has got any further with her enquiry, as Tyler is very concerned about it.   “I’ve asked Hywel to help – he thinks he can find the source.   Ffion wants to expel Chester once and for all, but Gaynor replies that they have to find the evidence first.
"How are things with Dr Pritch?"
“How are things going with Dr Pritch?” Ffion asks, and is told that they are not, as he has not been in touch.   “Don’t say I didn’t warn you,” Ffion adds, “Maybe you had a lucky escape.”
Gwen is on duty in the café again
In the café, Gwen serves DJ,
A text interrupts his reading
who goes to sit down and read the Western Post;  he receives a text from his mother,
Steak for dinner tonight
which reads, “I’m cooking dinner tonight.   Steak – USA style!”   He looks thoughtful.
"What's going on between you and Josh?"
Mark meets Kath, who is coming from the direction of the caravan, and asks her what is going on between her and Josh.
"You're looking guilty, Mam"
He demands what she looks guilty, but she says it is complicated.
"Not in trouble again, are you?"
He follows her and suspects she is in trouble again.
"I found this letter"
She tells him, “It’s about Debbie – when I stayed with Dol, I found this letter, and I think we should do something about it – it confirms who Debbie’s real father is – Joshua.   You saw her reaction, that’s why he denied it.”
Mark reads the letter
Mark reads the letter, and realises that Debbie has to know;
"He will never find the right time to tell her"
Kath does not think that Josh will ever find the right time to tell her, and it is not her place.
Mark realises that it falls to him to break the news
She reminds him how secrets like this tend to catch up with us.
Eifion has had a bright idea . . .
At Penrhewl, Eifion has prepared a leaflet for a shooting and banqueting holiday;
. . . shooting and banqueting at Penrhewl
“Come to Penrhewl for a unique experience.”   He is also going to pay someone to make the website more sophisticated;  he is sure they can arrange with Eileen to provide the five course meal.
“And then sleep under the stars in one of our luxurious tents,” Cadno reads, and Eifion explains he wants to resurrect the Glamping business;
"We have to be ambitious!"
they need to be more ambitious than B&B or a room in the Deri.   He points out that places like this charge £500 for two days.
"Everyone will hate us!"
Cadno answers, “Good – at least will have the money to move away when everyone hates us!”   She pleads with him not to put the flyers up in Cwmderi;
"No-one round here will pay that sort of money!"
“No-one from Cwmderi will pay £500 to go Glamping!   We’ll just make enemies,” but he insists that he wants a farm that is proud of this sideline of upholding old rural traditions.
"We must remember the boys"
“Consider Bobi and Arthur, and what we could do with the money,” he says, and Cadno reluctantly agrees.
"I'm making fries, like in San Francisco!"
When DJ arrives at Bryntirion, Linda announces she is making fries, like in San Francisco.   DJ does not say a word,
"Get some nice red wine"
but then she gives him some money to buy a couple of bottles of red wine.
"Are you sure you can afford it?"
“Are you sure you can afford it, after that holiday?” he enquires, “With rent to pay, and everything?
"Still renting the house in Crymych?"
“You are still renting the house in Crymych, aren’t you?”
"I went there yesterday"
There is an awkward silence, then DJ continues, “I went there yesterday, with Anita.   I thought I would make it more comfortable for you as a surprise –
"But I got the surprise!"
“but I got the surprise!”
Linda alleges that she moved out of the house as she wanted a home without stairs,
"I spoke to Mrs Hodges"
but he points out, “I spoke to Mrs Hodges too, and she said you’d been evicted, as you couldn’t pay the rent.   So, if you’re short of money and had to find a cheaper place, how did you afford to pay for that holiday?   Did you take that money from APD?
"Yes – and I'd do it again!"
She admits that she did take it, and says that she would do it again.   “I’ve always worked hard for the pittance I have!   And then I got cancer – twice!   I didn’t have the energy to work, and the benefits didn’t go far!”
DJ does not like the thought of penalising Dai or Jason
DJ reminds her that it was not Jason’s or Dai’s fault.
"Dai's never given me a penny!"
She rages, “They won’t miss the money, and Dai’s never given me a penny – I was a single mother raising you.”
DJ is becoming angry;
"He didn't know that I existed!"
“Listen, Dad didn’t know that I existed, so don’t blame him.   Since he and Diane found out about you, you couldn’t wish for a more generous couple – they would do anything for us.   You should feel guilty!
"Has all the money gone?"
“Has all the money gone?   The least you can do is give the rest of the money back,” but she protests that it is all she has.
"I'm not going to rely on handouts!"
“I’m not going to rely on handouts during my final days – I only have months – or weeks – left in this world, and then I’ll be off – goodbye, and thanks for everything!   The money I have left gives me options and possibilities.
"No-one is taking it away from me!"
“I’m not going to let you, or anyone else, take that away from me!”
Eifion is flyposting his leaflets everywhere.
"Did you give me the wrong number?"
Gaynor comes out of the shop, and Dr Pritchard meets her;  “You’ve either been calling me every name under the sun, or you gave me the wrong number,” he tells her, “Is this the right number?”   She checks and finds that one digit is wrong.
He apologises for disappearing
“You must think I’m a real idiot, asking you to change doctors, and then disappearing,” he says.   She asks if he has been on holiday,
"It's my sister-in-law, you see"
and he explains that he has been in Manchester, as his sister-in-law has a lot of problems – depression, drugs – she took an overdose, so he had to rush there.
He gives Gaynor a CD
He had been on his way to see Gaynor, and to give her a CD by a singer from Portugal.
He asks if she fancies a drink in the Deri;
Kath is in a belligerent mood
meanwhile, in the background, Kath begins to remove Eifion’s flyers as soon as he posts them.   “What the hell are you doing?” he demands, “You have no right to do that!”
"Hanging people used to be a rural tradition!"
“More of a right than men like you have to shoot harmless birds!” she informs him, but he comes up with the old argument about rural traditions.   “Hanging people used to be a rural tradition – that doesn’t make it right!” Kath roars, “All you do is take advantage of animals that can’t fight back!”
They watch the spectacle
Gaynor and Elgan are watching this exchange, as Kath adds, “Do you know what?   I heard about you blackmailing Gaynor!
"You're a bully and a pervert!"
“Showing people private photos – you’re a bully and a pervert!”
Gaynor explains about the photos
Gaynor and Elgan continue to the Deri, as she explains about the photos, which she did not want everyone seeing,
"But I dealt with him!"
but she dealt with it.
"Meic went to a casino"
At number 10, Anita recalls that Meic went out all night once with Garry Monk;  she was worried sick, but he was at a casino, and spent £5000.
"At least it was his own money!"
DJ assumes that at least it was his own money;
"He felt everyone was putting pressure on him"
Anita explains, “He felt everyone was putting pressure on him to be responsible with his money, and he wanted to make point.”
"Mam has stolen from people I love"
“But Mam has stolen from people I love,” protests DJ.   Anita warns him that if he tells them he will lose his mother and there will be no turning back then.
Siôn is very worried about these essays
In the Deri, Siôn insists that Gaynor must have evidence he did not sell those essays.   “Hywel’s research should show that the essays came from Chester’s computer,” she assures him.
"I put the wrong number in his phone"
Gaynor explains to Ffion about Dr Pritchard and that she put the wrong number into his phone.
"Hunting people like you!""
Elgan approaches Eifion, and comments on his ambitious venture;  “I remember a friend of a friend – he hosted exclusive hunts.   He found out about events like this, and then put on the hunt where they hunted the hunters.   He hated seeing harmless creatures being hunted and killed for fun – and saw people like you as fair game.”
Eifion is becoming worried
Eifion is by now looking troubled;
"You swallowed that one"
the doctor laughs, and comments, “You swallowed that one!”   Then he adds, ominously,
"Mind you, it does make you think!"
“Mind you, it does make you think,” and walks away, leaving Eifion rather puzzled.
"Sorry if I gave that impression"
Elgan next offers to buy Ffion a drink and apologises for giving her the impression that he was flirting with her.
"It was not my intention"
He assures her that was not his intention.
At Maes-y-Deri, Mark re-reads the letter,
"I still say we should speak to Gaynor"
and when Debbie returns, still maintaining that they should see Gaynor,
"Sit down for a minute, Debs"
he tells her to sit down for a moment.
"There is a letter from Dol to you"
“There’s no easy way to say this,” he begins, “When Mam was staying with Dol, she found this letter – it’s a letter to you from Dol, but she never sent it.
"Josh is your father!"
“Josh is your father!”   Debbie looks horrified.
Linda finds DJ enjoying his meal
Linda finds DJ tucking into a meal at the Deri;  “So the steaks have gone to waste, have they?” she asks,
"Are you going to tell Dai and Diane"
“I need to know – are you going to tell Dai and Diane about the money?”   He has given it a lot of thought,
"Why didn't you tell me about your problems?"
and wonders why she did not tell him about the money problems.   She sits down and says, “I’m tired of all these problems, and asking for help all the time.
"The answer was right in front of my nose!"
“The answer was there, right in front of my nose!”
DJ tells her, “I’m really angry with you, Mam – but I don’t want to lose you before I have to.
"I'm not going to tell them"
“I’m not going to tell them, but please don’t do anything like this again.”   She apologises once more,
He hugs his mother
and DJ hugs his mother.
"It was all a pack of lies!"
Debbie exclaims, “She said that Dad was in the army, and even showed me a photo of him – and it was all a pack of lies!”   Mark explains that she wanted Debbie to have a normal life – to go to school, chapel, pass exams.   She comments that the last part was not very successful.
"She turned her back on everything for you"
He adds, “She turned her back on her family and her life with Josh, for you to have the opportunities she never had.”
"No wonder I turned out like I did!"
Debbie considers it is no wonder she turned out like this if Josh is her father, but he points out she has not turned out too bad.
"Of all people – him?"
“Don’t you see – the things I’ve done in my life – it’s in the blood, isn’t it?” she wails, “Of all people – him?”   Mark encourages her to phone her mother, as they have a lot to talk about.
"We never have to discuss it again!"
“He doesn’t know that I know, does he?   There we are then – that’s the end of the matter!   We never have to discuss it again!”   Mark asks about Ricky, who now has a grandfather, and likes him.
"Ricky won't miss something he's never had!"
“Ricky won’t miss something he’s never had!” Debbie insists, “As far as I’m concerned, Dad died when I was a baby –
"That scum can take his caravan away – for ever!"
“and all I want now is for that scum to take his caravan away from Cwmderi for ever!”
