The doctor pays a home visit
Dr Pritchard and the midwife have called to see Sara, who is having problems feeding the baby, and does not like taking painkillers.   Jason tells the doctor he has advised Sara to go around the house topless.
"If you haven't got anything sensible to say, shut up!"
“If you haven’t got anything sensible to say, shut up!” is Sara’s response.
Dr Pritchard prescribes some different ointment, and the midwife comments that Ifan is not gaining weight;
Little Ifan is rather underweight . . .
Sara is worried that he is not getting enough milk,
. . . but the doctor says it is nothing to worry about
but is reassured by the doctor that a baby with Downs will take longer to feed.   As he leaves, he tells her that she is not on her own.
Jim has disappeared . . .
Eileen finds a note, “Gone away.   Need some space,”
. . . and Eileen destroys his note
screws it up and throws it away.
"I don't feel too clever, Auntie Anita"
At number 10, Kelly is pretending to be unwell, feeling sick with a headache.
"You look rather pale"
Anita says she will postpone her visit to Kelly’s mother,
"No, I shall be all right – you go!"
but is persuaded that this is not necessary.   She is off to do her shift at Awyr Iach, and will see how Kelly is later.
Chester arrives at Gaynor's office again
Chester has been summoned to the headteacher’s office,
She has an unexpected offer for him
“I’ve been thinking a lot since our chat yesterday,” Gaynor tells him, “Have you had any luck finding a new school?   Would you like a place at the new community school?”
"You're pulling my leg!"
He thinks that she is pulling his leg.
"There's a first time for everything!"
She continues, “You impressed me yesterday – you were honest, sincere and admitted you were wrong – there’s a first time for everything!   A lot of the teachers will not want you with the school, but I’m giving you the choice.
She offers him a choice . . .
“Accept a place at the school and prove yourself, or go to another school where no-one knows you – which is a lot easier for you, in many ways.”
. . . but he is not getting away scot-free
He cannot believe that she is giving him the choice, but she reminds him he will have to be punished for the essays business.   “You’ll be in the ‘sin bin’ from now until the end of the exams, and I won’t allow you to go on the school trip to Paris.   Like I said, Chester, this is not the easy option for you.”
"Now that Hannah can attend the new school . . ."
He replies that he has a lot of friends here, and now that Hannah can attend the new school, he will accept the offer, which he really was not expecting.
No prizes for guessing who has been trying to contact Gaynor
As he leaves, Gaynor looks at her phone, which is showing seven missed calls.
"This house is just right for you"
DJ has been searching the Western Post to find a house for his mother;
"You don't like me living here, do you?"
“You don’t like the fact that I’m living here, after what I’ve done, do you?” she demands.
Diane arrives home, and sees the property page of the paper.
"DJ is finding a house for me"
Linda tells her, “DJ is finding a house for me to rent,” but Diane will not hear of the idea.
"She was evicted from Crymych"
When she learns that Linda has been evicted,
"You must live here – that's all settled!"
Diane insists that she must continue to live at Bryntirion, as there is plenty of room,
Everything is working according to plan
and she will not listen to any protests from DJ.
"What am I supposed to do with that, Jason?"
Jason has been out on his bike and has purchased a breast pump;  “What am I supposed to do with that?” snaps Sara.   He points out that they both agree that her milk is best for the baby;  “How long have you been an expert?” she demands,
"Take it back to the shop!"
“Take it back to the shop – I feel guilty enough already!”
He goes out of the back door with his purchase, only to shout,
"Some swine has stolen my bike!"
“Some swine has stolen my bike!”
Kelly cannot wait for Anita to go . . .
Kelly packs Anita off on her visit to her sister, and as soon as she is out of the door,
. . . so she can give Morgan the 'all-clear'
rings Morgan to advise him that the coast is clear, and she is eagerly awaiting his arrival.
Colin asks the doctor if he should contact the police about his father’s death, but he is assured,
"There was nothing that anyone could have done"
“There was nothing that Eileen, or anyone else, could have done – he died quietly in his sleep.”
"So I should just drop it?"
Dr Pritchard advises him to drop the matter.
Jason comes round the corner,
"You seen anyone riding my bike?"
ranting, “Is nothing safe in his village any more?   Have you seen anyone riding past on my bike?”   He receives no answer from Colin,
Colin espies Eileen
who has just seen Eileen, and so rapidly disappears into the chip shop flat.   Then Jason tells Sara there is no sign of the bike anywhere,
"There are more important things in life!"
but she replies that there are more important things in life.
A rather awkward meeting
The doctor encounters Gaynor by the chip shop;  he admits that he could kick himself after last night.   He has to apologise every time he sees her these days.   “The truth is – we hardly know each other,
Gaynor feels that he is playing games with her
“but I know when someone is playing games with me!” she says.
Elgan confesses that he has not felt like this about anyone since Sophia, his wife, and he is not dealing with it very well.
"Can we talk about it?"
He asks if they can go somewhere and talk about it.
Kelly insists she wants to help him
When he comes in, via the back door, Morgan tells Kelly he is still not sure if this is fair on her, but she is insistent that she wants to help him, and that the spare room is all ready for him.
"I've got ideas about what you and Gethin can do"
He has had a lot of ideas about what she and Gethin can do at Penrhewl – he wants to repay her for her friendship.
"We can all meet up"
She suggests that they could all meet up later, but he responds that there is no rush, and he needs to catch his breath after the last few days.   “You haven’t told Gethin that I’m staying here, have you?” he enquires,
Morgan gives her a bottle of wine
and presents her with a bottle of wine.
"I felt a real fool last night"
In the Deri, Gaynor admits that she felt a real fool last night;  she had a few drinks and wanted to kiss him, thinking he felt the same.
Elgan explains why he was hesitant
He replies, “Of course, I wanted to kiss you – I haven’t been in a relationship since Sophia, and to be totally honest, as I like you so much, I am frightened that I shall get hurt again.   I’m ready, but that’s what I’m afraid of.
"Once I'm on the train, I won't want to get off!"
“With you, I feel that once I’m on the train, I won’t want to get off!”
Gaynor is surprised at being compared to a train;  he knows that he ruined everything, but hopes that they can start again.
"Today is a day of second chances!"
She enlightens him that today is a day of second chances.
Linda insists she will keep milking Diane's generosity
Linda tells DJ that she cannot throw Diane’s kindness back in her face,
"You could use the rest of the money as rent"
but DJ insists that she could use the rest of money as rent.   She would rather spend it on him, and she does not know how much time she has left.
"I could help out at APD"
Then she approaches Diane with an idea;  “As I can’t afford to pay rent, I could come and help out at APD. I could do the accounts, bank the takings and all that –
"I was top of the class at maths"
“I was top of the class at maths!”
"Welcome to APD!"
This convinces  Diane, who welcomes her to APD.
"Yes, I'm fine, Auntie Anita!"
Anita has phoned Kelly to confirm that she is all right;
"She's like a mother to me"
she tells Morgan that Anita is more of a mother than her own mother.
Morgan remembers his addicted mother
“My mother was more of a rebellious teenager with drug problems,” recalls Morgan, “She died of an overdose when I was 20.”   He asks if Kelly has ever been married;
Kelly does not have fond memories of her marriage
she replies that her husband did not want children, and by the end she was not sure if she wanted Dafydd or just children.
"Jinx was the love of my life"
Then she reminisces, emotionally, “I lost the love of my life – he didn’t die or anything.   Jinx was lovely – he still is.   A bloke attacked me, and Jinx was my saviour, but then everything changed,
But it ended badly
“and the relationship was another casualty of the attack.”   Morgan assures her that he understands
Eileen wants to talk to Colin
Eileen presses the buzzer of the chip shop flat
He is looking at a photo of his father
as Colin is looking at a photo of himself and his father;
"Leave me alone, Eileen!"
when he hears that it is Eileen, he tells her to leave him alone.   She pleads, “I’m sorry that it took me so long, but I was afraid to tell you that I was with your father in his final seconds, and not you.
"Please come back to the shop"
“You should have been there – please come back to the shop, so we can put things right between us.”
"I'm resigning, Eileen!"
Colin is in tears as he tells her, “I’m resigning, Eileen!   I don’t want to discuss it – I’ve made my decision.”
Little Ifan will be bottle-fed
In the Deri, Jason, who has now purchased baby’s bottles, argues that it is important that they stick together;
"Yes, you can get up in the night!"
Sara agrees that another advantage of a bottle is that he can get up in the night.
"DJ never had a bottle"
Then Linda comes in, boasting that DJ never got a bottle from her, and that is why he looks so well.
"Jason did – and he's a lot more brainy than DJ!"
“Jason had a bottle, and he’s a lot more brainy than DJ!” answers Sara.
Linda will pay for this round, to celebrate her new job,
"Linda's coming to work at APD"
and Diane explains to Sara that she is coming to work for APD to help with the accounts.
Again, DJ comments that it is a bad idea.   “It’s not fair on Dad – he would panic if she had a funny turn.
"She'd be better off at Awyr Iach"
“She’d be better off at Awyr Iach, where I could keep an eye on her.   Sara said she was desperate to find someone.”
Sara agrees that Linda can work there
Sara agrees to take on his mother.
"Have you ever been to Madrid?"
As he drinks a glass of wine, Morgan asks if Kelly has been to Madrid.   She replies that she is a real city girl at heart, even though she lives in a tiny village;  that is why she likes being part of this campaign.
"I like feeling out of my comfort zone"
“I like feeling out of my comfort zone sometimes.”
Moc, the master of the chat-up line
He tells her that is why they get on so well,
"Yes, I'd like that!"
and suggests that she could come and stay with him in Madrid, as he could show her around.   She is very receptive to this idea, and he promises that when he has settled there, they will make arrangements.
"You're a breath of fresh air"
“You’re a breath of fresh air – do you know that?” she murmurs, and he says the same about her.
We could all see that coming!
Inevitably, they kiss.
