| Tyler is off to work |
Tyler is about to leave for work, but Iolo was hoping to talk about starting a family.
| "Now is not the time" |
He is told that now is not the time, and then Siôn comes downstairs;
| Iolo is suddenly eager to leave |
when Macs follows him down, Iolo decides that it is time he went to work also. Macs thanks him for allowing him to stay last night; “It’s not me you should be thanking,” Iolo replies.
| Anita is on her way to the surgery |
Outside in the street, Anita says she cannot believe she is doing this, as she does not need to see a doctor.
| "You're talking to dead people" |
“I don’t agree with you, because you’re talking to dead people,” Kelly tells her. Anita protests that it is only Meic, but Kelly goes on, “It’s still odd – that’s why Sheryl and I think you should see the doctor.”
| "Have you been talking to Sheryl about me?" |
Anita is upset that they have been talking about this, but Kelly points out Sheryl is also worried. “You do weird things as well!” remarks Anita,
| "I thought you were happy about a baby" |
and Kelly says she thought Anita was happy about her having a baby.
| Gwyneth is about to get a rude awakening |
Gwyneth is asleep on the sofa, under a couple of blankets, when Macs and Siôn come into Y Felin; she insists they have no right to be there.
| "I still own half this place!" |
“I still own half this place, don’t forget!” responds Siôn. Then she reminds him that he has moved out.
“Look, there are two ways of doing this,” Siôn tells her, “By shouting and screaming, or by being reasonable.
| He explains his proposal for an amicable settlement . . . |
“I’ve been thinking of a way, without having to spend a fortune on solicitors. It will be fair if we have what we had when we started the relationship.”
| . . . but she does not find it very amicable |
Gwyneth seems to think this idea is weighted in Siôn’s favour, but Macs comments that she is lucky to get anything.
| "We will end up with exactly the same thing" |
Siôn continues, “We had a house each at the beginning – all I’m saying is that we should leave the relationship with exactly the same thing.”
| "This house is the least I deserve!" |
This does not meet with Gwyneth’s approval; “This house is the least I deserve for putting up with you!” However, she does not look so confident now.
| "I've started talking to my husband again" |
Anita looks nervous at the doctor’s, and confesses, “I’ve started talking to my husband again – but the thing is, he’s been dead for a year, 10 months and 18 days.” Dr Pritchard is aware of the history, which is on his computer screen. “You probably think I’m losing my mind,” she says,
| "You had a shocking experience" |
but he points out she has had a shocking experience recently, and it is only natural she wants to look for comfort.
She admits that talking to Meic does give her comfort;
| "I miss him more than I can say" |
“He always knew what to do when things were hard, and I miss him more than I can say. If Meic was still around, none of this would have happened.”
| "I'm not going to change my mind" |
Gwyneth, with her arms folded, tells Macs and Siôn, “You can sit here all day – I’m not going to change my mind!” Siôn says he is reluctant to mention this,
| "Well, I shall have to go to the police" |
but he knows about the poison, so if she does not agree to the terms he is offering, he will have to go to the police.
| "Macs bought the poison" |
She asserts that Macs bought the poison,
| "You stole my card" |
but Macs comments, “We both know that’s not true. You stole my card and used my name to buy it.”
| "Yes – that really was a genius move!" |
She argues that she was protecting herself, and describes it as a genius move. “But it doesn’t matter what I admit to you – you can’t prove anything.”
| "I'll get my phone and call the police, then" |
Siôn is wearing an unfamiliarly smug look, and proposes phoning the police now, to see what they say. “And send your own son to jail?” says Gwyneth, incredulously, “Go on then, carry on!”
| "I'll support Macs, whatever happens" |
Siôn assures her that he will support Macs, whatever happens, but asks who will be supporting her.
| Macs replays what she has just said |
Macs gets up and, informing her that she has just ‘hanged herself’, he plays back the last few sentences of their conversation, which he has been recording on his phone – her confession.
| Gwyneth goes rather quiet after that |
“You’re quiet – you had plenty to say just now,” remarks Macs.
With a smile on his face, Siôn tells his son he cannot believe he just did that, but, however, there is no need to apologise.
| Siôn congratulates Macs on catching her out |
“I’m very proud of you for catching her out at last!” Gwyneth demands how Macs can forgive him after everything.
| "Now, go upstairs and pack" |
“Unlike you, he’s got a conscience,” comments Siôn, “Now, go upstairs and pack – before I change my mind and call the police.” Rather crestfallen, she follows instructions and goes upstairs.
| "You look more miserable than usual" |
In the café, Kelly tells Iolo that he looks more miserable than normal, and demands what is his problem. He replies that the house is full, and that Macs is in the way.
| "A bit awkward is it,when you want to – you know? |
“A bit awkward is it, when you and Tyler want to – you know?”
| "We want to start a family" |
He tells her that he and Tyler need to discuss things, as they want to start a family. Kelly can imagine them adopting, as he would be really cute with children.
“I’d like to try surrogacy – to have a child that’s part of me,” Iolo reveals, and she encourages him, but he adds, “Tyler doesn’t want to discuss it at all.”
| Kelly gives some advice |
She suggests, “You should take Tyler out for a romantic dinner, pillow talk, and you know . . .”
| "That's what this lunch is for" |
He informs her that is what lunch today is designed for, and at that moment Tyler arrives, apologising for being a bit off recently.
| "Macs is driving me nuts as well" |
“I don’t blame you – having Macs there is driving me nuts as well,” Iolo replies.
| "Thank you, doctor – I feel much better" |
Anita thanks the doctor, and says that she feels much better; he tells her that a chat can be better than medicine sometimes, and that he is here to listen any time.
| She describes her weird dream |
She adds, “There is one more thing – I had this dream a few weeks ago – Meic wants me to compete in the Eisteddfod this year, as it’s on Anglesey. I’ve never done it before –
| "Should I listen to the dream?" |
“do you think I should listen to the dream?” He advises her to do what ever makes her happy.
| "It will all be in the garage" |
Gwyneth comes downstairs with her luggage; she says she will come back to get the rest of her stuff, and is told it will be in a box in the garage. “I hope you rot in this hole!” she says with feeling as she leaves.
| Siôn is very grateful to his son |
Macs and Siôn smile at each other.
When Kelly calls at number 7, Iolo tells her that it is not a good time, as they are talking.
| "Talking about babies, I hope" |
“About babies, I hope,” she comments, and Tyler appears aggrieved that Iolo has been talking to her about the subject.
| Kelly alleges she has the perfect solution |
“I don’t want you to think I’m doing this on a whim, but I think I have the perfect solution for us.” Tyler stops her, pointing out they have not even decided to have a child.
| "We should have a baby together – the three of us" |
“I just want you to think over what I have in mind,” she goes on, then takes a deep breath and adds, “I think we should have a baby together – the three of us.”
| There is a stunned silence |
Her suggestion is greeted by a stunned silence.
“Well – say something!” Kelly pleads, but they do not know what to say; Iolo maintains that they could not ask her to do something like this. She admits, “I wouldn’t be doing it just for you – I want a baby too.” Iolo calls it a big responsibility, and she replies that is what is missing in her life.
| "Do you know how selfish that sounds?" |
Tyler wonders if she knows how selfish that sounds.
She answers, “That’s not selfish – I want to share my life with a child.
| "You would have the baby half the week . . ." |
“Maybe this sounds a bit nuts, but it could work – you would have the baby for half the week, and I would have him or her for the other half.” Tyler maintains that child would be very confused. “The child will be loved by three parents not just two,” Kelly explains.
| Iolo is dubious about this |
Iolo is not sure that this is the way they want a child, and stresses this is a big decision, but Kelly says it is just an offer, nothing more, but that they should remember one thing; “We’re best mates – what could go wrong?”
| "I can't believe that just happened!" |
When she leaves, Tyler shakes his head; “I can’t believe that just happened,” he says.
| Anita starts a bit of singing practice |
Anita is looking at the topics list for the Eisteddfod and humming to herself when Kelly returns home, very subdued.
| "The doctor talked so much sense!" |
Anita thanks her for he encouragement to go to see the doctor; “He talked so much sense!”
| "I've had a stressful day" |
Kelly says that she has had a stressful day, and does not know what she is doing.
| "Perhaps you should see Dr Pritchard" |
“Perhaps you should go and see Dr Pritchard as well,” suggests Anita.
| Elgan listens to a recording . . . |
Meanwhile, at the surgery, the doctor is listening to a recording of his consultation with Anita;
| . . . with deep concentration |
he looks very thoughtful.
| "If you hadn't opened your mouth" |
Tyler grumbles at Iolo, “If you hadn’t opened your mouth,” but Iolo replies that he did not know she was going to offer to carry a baby for them. “She wants more than that – she want to share it with us.
| "Do you want to accept her offer?" |
“Do you want to accept her offer, just like that?” Just as the argument is about to get heated, the door opens and Macs and Siôn arrive.
| Siôn is jubilant at ousting Gwyneth |
“We’ve managed to get Gwyneth out of Y Felin!” Siôn announces,
| "What's wrong with him?" |
and Tyler decides to go out to clear his head. Siôn expects that Iolo will be pleased to see him go, but it is Macs he wants to see the back of. Macs will help Siôn move back and then will leave.
“Until something else goes wrong!” scoffs Iolo.
| "I want you two to get on!" |
Siôn points out that he does not want his two sons to fall out, and urges them to make up while he is upstairs, packing.
| Gwyneth prepares to ring Yvonne |
Sitting alone in the Deri, Gwyneth scrolls through her phone to the number for Yvonne. The doctor comes in, and trips over her bag; he asks if she is going on holiday.
| "I'm not going anywhere" |
Her reply is, “Cwmderi’s my home – I’m not going anywhere. Leave me alone.”
| "Well, I did help Dad in the end" |
Macs explains that he helped Dad in the end; “He got Gwyneth out of Y Felin, thanks to me,”
| "If you hadn't interfered . . ." |
but Iolo reminds him that if he had not interfered, Gwyneth would not have come back, and accuses him of blaming everyone else.
Macs goes on, “You’ve got your weaknesses as well – every time you start losing an argument, you play the gay card.
| "Dad can forgive me – why can't you?" |
“I’ve said sorry, but that’s not enough – if Dad can forgive me, why can’t you?”
“Because I know that what you say means nothing,” Iolo replies, “I’m willing to be civil with you, but if you ever do anything like this again, I will sort you out!”
| "We understand each other" |
Siôn comes downstairs and they tell him they understand each other.
| "Let me buy you a drink" |
Gwyneth goes over to the bar and apologises to the doctor, insisting that she buy him a drink.
At Y Felin, Siôn continues to pack Gwyneth’s belongings into boxes,
| "The taxi will be here in ten minutes" |
and Macs says the taxi will be there in ten minutes, as he cannot stay there after what he has done.
| Siôn is eager for him to stay |
His father is insistent, “I want us to get to know each other again – I’m proud of what you did today. Anyway, I want your company – thinking about starting over on my own scares me.”
| "All right – just for a week or two" |
Macs agrees to stay for a week or two and see how things go; “That’s good enough for me – now cancel that taxi!” Siôn tells him.
| Tyler seems to be changing his opinion . . . |
Tyler returns home, after having had time to think; “What Kelly is offering is huge,” he says, “It could cause so many problems – but the idea has so many advantages as well.”
| . . . but so is Iolo (once again) |
Now that Iolo has seen Macs, he is not so keen on the idea, as children have to be kept on the rails, and taught how to behave, how to respect other people. He is not sure that you do that by sharing a child. “We have to discuss this properly, from the beginning. We need to decide on why and how we want a child – I want to do this right.”
| "You're getting cold feet" |
Tyler is convinced that Iolo is getting cold feet; “We must not dismiss this offer because it scares us,” he says,
| "This seems like an easy answer" |
but Iolo is wary of it because it seems like the easy answer.
| "We must do what's right for us" |
“Whatever we decide, we shall do it because it’s right for us, and no-one else!” Tyler assures him.
