22 June 2017

Yes, Sioned is sobbing somewhere behind there
Alone in her flat, Sioned is crying bitterly.
Gethin's mind is not on servicing cars
Gethin is in the pit, under a car, and appears to be lost in thought
A pair of legs approach
when a pair of legs appear in the doorway of the garage;
"Is everything OK?"
Ffion asks him if everything is OK.   “It will be when people stop asking me if everything’s OK!” he rages, “Mrs Hughes asked me that!” and she tells him it is probably because he is so touchy.   She is on the way to pick up Arwen, and reminds him it is 5:45pm.
"I thought we could have a takeaway tonight"
“I thought we could have a takeaway tonight,” she suggests,
"Do what you want!"
but he tells her to do what she wants.   “If you’re going to be like that,” she replies and walks out.
He returns to his thoughts
Again he stops work and thinks.
Dani's scans
In the Deri, Dani is showing Llinos the scans of her baby;
"That's the head – well, I think it is!"
“Those are the hands, and that’s the head – well, I think it is!” Dani tells her,
"Like me?   It must be gorgeous!"
adding, “Garry, I think it looks like you.   I’m craving for a jam doughnut, so I’m going to the cafĂ©;  do you want anything?”
Ffion is not in the mood for small talk
Ffion comes in, and Dani shows her the scans, asking if she thinks it looks like Garry;  “Yes – poor thing!” Ffion replies, and then wants a word with Garry.   He protests that he is on his own until Vicky comes in;
He does not want that broadcast round the Deri
“Would you prefer to talk about what happened at Penrhewl here?” she demands.   He wants her to go and sit in the corner, and he will come over.
Dani brings coffee and doughnuts
Sioned has been doing some washing when Dani breezes in with two coffees, and shows Sioned the scan photos.
"It's really surreal!"
“It’s really surreal – there’s something inside me that’s growing – a body!   Garry is not a big hospital fan, but he didn’t have any choice but to come with me.”   Sioned points out that it is rather hard to tell whether the foetus resembles Garry at this stage.
“Well, if this baby has my looks and Garry’s brains, it will be a lucky baby!” Dani boasts.
"He's up and down all the time"
“The stress is too much,” says Ffion, “He’s up and down all the time.   Every time he leaves the house I’m worried he’ll do something stupid – his head is all over the place.”
"Has he said he's going to do something?"
Garry advises that if he has not said he is going to do something, there is no problem.
"Who in their right mind would want to kill someone?"
Ffion goes on, “Who in their right mind would be happy for anyone to kill another person?   For you to kill someone for him?”
"Someone who wants revenge"
Garry suggests, “Someone who, maybe, had a difficult childhood, and who wants revenge.”   Ffion confesses she cannot get what he did out of her mind,
"Don't let Moc ruin your relationship"
but Garry advises, “Moc is gone – don’t let him ruin your relationship.   Forget what happened – forget what you know – be supportive of Gethin, and move on, for all our sakes.”   Ffion is not sure if she can do that.
Sioned has just had a phone call from her mother, who is going to the cinema on her own;
"Garry won't come to the cinema with me"
Dani says she does not have the guts to go on her own, and Garry will not go with her.   They are continuing to fold Sioned’s clothes,
Sioned looks rather off-colour
and Dani comments that Sioned looks pale.   She picks up the basket of washing, but is seized with a sudden pain,
"I'm expecting a baby!"
and Dani is insistent that she be told what is wrong.
“I’m expecting a baby!” Sioned reveals, “I’m bleeding!”
"I'm taking you to the hospital – now!"
Dani instructs her that she is going to the hospital, right now.
"Don't let it spoil what you have"
“He’s a good partner, and a brilliant father to Arwen and Daniel,” Ffion tells Garry, so he urges her to focus on that, instead of something that did not happen.   He emphasises that Gethin was in a bad place, and had a moment of madness;  she should not let that spoil what they have.”
Josh suddenly materialises . . .
Debbie, at the bar, complains about the lack of service, and, hearing her voice, Josh suddenly appears from somewhere.   He tells her that he had a sore head after the party yesterday, and that Mark was a bit tipsy.
. . . and Debbie is not pleased to see him
“It would have been nice if . . .” he begins.   She thinks she may have given him the wrong impression, as she does not know why she smiled at him,
"I don't want you to be part of my life!"
but she still does not want him to be part of her life,
"Hey, how about your glass of wine?"
and abruptly walks out.
Sioned sits, alone and frightened
Sioned sits on a hospital bed, and Dani tells her someone is on their way;  she tries to reassure Sioned that everything will be all right.
"How far gone are you?"
Dani asks why she did not say anything, and enquires how far gone she is, which causes Sioned to do some quick mental arithmetic.
Sioned calculates that fifteen weeks is about right
She answers, “Fifteen weeks,” and Dani appreciates that it must be hard without Ed.
Dani thinks for a moment, and then asks, “Ed is the father, isn’t he?”
"Who else could it be?"
Sioned gives the impression that she is at a loss to know who else it could be;
Dani harbours certain suspicions
Dani appears to be rather suspicious.
"Haven't you got a home to go to?"
Gethin is sprawled on the sofa in the Deri, and Garry asks him whether he has a home to go to.
"Well, we're not going to serve you!"
“Neither I nor Vicky are going to serve you!” he says.   Without a further word, Gethin gets up and walks out.
"I saw Dani taking Sioned to hospital"
Vicky enlightens Garry that she saw Sioned earlier, in pain and on her way to hospital, and that Dani was helping her.
Garry cannopt get out of the Deri quickly enough
Garry grabs his coat and leaves, in a tearing hurry.
Josh sits miserably in the Deri
Vicky sees Josh sitting alone and miserable;  he reveals that he saw her mother earlier.
"Debbie was nosing around the party last night"
“She came to the party last night,” he says, “She was only nosing around.   I saw her, and she saw me too – she smiled at me.   It would be fair to think there was some hope – but there isn’t.
Vicky grasps her grandfather's hand
“She still says she does not want me in her life”
Ffion tries to contact Gethin;  “What’s the point of having a mobile phone?” she mutters,
"Stop checking up on me!"
then he comes in and tells her to stop checking up on him.
"I'm worried about you, Geth!"
She pleads, “I’m worried about you, Geth – look, we’re partners, we’re supposed to share everything.   I’ve come to you hundreds of times with my problems, and you’ve always been there for me.
"It's all over with Moc"
“You’ve shut me out.   It’s all over with Moc.   As Garry said, we can’t let Moc win and split us up.”
"So you've been talking to him"
He is incensed that she has been talking to Garry;
"Well, you weren't talking to me"
“I had to try and understand it all – you weren’t talking to me,” she replies.   He gets up and goes for a walk, commenting that she can discuss that with Garry Monk as well.
"Are you all right?"
At the hospital, Dani is very surprised to see Garry striding down the corridor;  he asks if she is all right, maintaining that Vicky saw the two of them, heading for the hospital.   “Are you in pain?” he demands,
"It's Sioned, not me"
but she points out it was Sioned, and that Vicky was well aware of that.
“I’m fine,” she reassures him, “But Sioned is in a terrible state.   We were having a coffee and chat,” but Garry interrupts her.
"Why are you so snappy?"
“Why are you so snappy?” she demands, “No-one knows what the problem is – she was bleeding.”
The ultrasound scan in progress . . .
Meanwhile, an ultrasound scan is being carried out on Sioned;
. . . resulting in pretty coloured lights
looking at the various coloured images, she is convinced that something is wrong.   The staff member leaves the room,
Sioned is really scared
as tears run down Sioned’s face.
Gethin has brought the takeaway
Ffion is about to heat up a meal for one, when Gethin returns with a takeaway.
"Ffi, I'm sorry for what I did"
“Ffi, I’m sorry, what I did – it was wrong, pure and simple.
"I shall start with apologising to Dani"
“Things will change tomorrow, starting with apologising to Dani for last week.”
She insists that she meant what she said earlier;
"Promise you will tell me if anything is worrying you"
“If anything is worrying you, promise you will tell me.”   He does so, and she goes to fetch the plates.
Garry is very impatient
Garry marches through the hospital, with Dani running behind, insisting that he has to know, as it is important.
"Anyone would think it was me in there!"
“Anyone would think it was me in there!” rages Dani, “What is wrong?”   He maintains that being in the hospital remind him of when they were there last, but she reassures him that their baby is fine.
He asks if Dani can go and get a coffee, but she wants to be here for Sioned,
Sioned is coming
who, at that moment enters, and asks what Garry is doing there.
"I wanted to check everyone is all right"
He says he is checking that everyone is all right.
"The baby is fine!"
Sioned hugs Dani, and informs them that the baby is fine, and everything is OK, which Garry finds reassuring.
Vicky is furious with her mother
Vicky comes home late with a takeaway;  she does not seem keen to speak to her mother,
"His heart's in pieces, thanks to you!"
but says, “I spent half the night talking to your father – his heart’s in pieces, thanks to you!  What is there to understand?   Your father, our grandfather, has come to search for his family – he’s made such an effort – he didn’t have to do that.   You weren’t part of my life for years – remember?”
Debbie answers that she had no choice:
"He didn't choose not to be part of your life!"
“And Josh didn’t choose not to be part of your life either!” roars Vicky, “How would you have felt if I hadn’t come back – hadn’t made an effort?   It’s exactly the same!”
Garry does not think that 'vulnerable' describes Sioned
Back in the Deri flat, Dani admits, “I know what she did to Ed was wrong, but that was in the past.   She’s vulnerable.”   He wonders if they are talking about the same Sioned here.   “Everyone deserves a second chance,” she goes on, “You and I have had loads.”
"I don't trust her!"
Garry announces, “I don’t trust her – she’s tricked her mother I don’t know how many times, as well as other people in Cwmderi.”
Dani says that they are both pregnant, and have a bond.   Gary continues, “Everyone knows what she’s like – she’s got history – stay away from her!”
"Your behaviour has been weird all day"
“OK, what's wrong?” Dani demands, “Your behaviour has been weird all day – tell me, Garry!”
"Be careful with Sioned"
He says he is worried about her, and warns her to be careful with Sioned.
"This is your fault"
“You realise, don’t you, that it was you who brought Sioned and me together?” enquires Dani, “If you hadn’t bought the taxis, we wouldn’t have got so close, so actually, this is your fault.”   He acknowledges that everything is always his fault, and he goes to bed;
Dani sends a text
Dani picks up her phone.
Sioned is again sobbing
Close to midnight, in the darkness of her flat, Sioned is crying, when the text tone of her phone sounds.
She receives the text from Dani . . .
The message from Dani reads, “Hope you’re OK?   We are going to sleep now.   Talk to you tomorrow.”
. . . and weeps even more
Sioned breaks down in floods of tears.
