| Anita's frantic cleaning continues |
Kelly finds Anita still cleaning the furniture;
| Kelly is worried about her |
she tells Kelly that she has got rid of the worst stains, but can still see small drops everywhere.
| "I can see drops everywhere!" |
Kelly goes out, but looks very worried about Anita.
| "He didn't turn up!" |
Outside, Kelly asks Gaynor about her hot date last night, and when told that he did not turn up, advises Gaynor to ensure he makes it up to her,
| "You deserve a bottle of champagne" |
with a bottle of champagne at the least. Gaynor had a few glasses of wine on her own last night and is feeling rather fragile.
| "Eifion has abandoned the syndicate" |
Then Gethin approaches, and Kelly tells him that Eifion texted her about abandoning the syndicate; she regards this as a triumph,
| Gethin has other things on his mind |
but he is not concerned, as he has other, more important, things on his mind.
| He has a call from the hospital |
Then he has a phone call from the hospital.
| Sara packs everything she could conceivably need |
Jason tells Sara he is gasping for a pint; she is packing a large bag with everything little Ifan could possibly need.
| "We're not going to the Sahara!" |
“We’re going to the Deri, not the Sahara!” comments Jason. Finally the bag is packed and they are ready to go.
| "Is this seat free?" |
Elgan asks if he can join Gaynor in the Deri, and produces flowers;
| Elgan is full of apologies |
“I’m sorry about last night,” he tells her, “Especially after all the trouble you had been to – it’s hard letting you down, and I’m sure that whatever you cooked was delicious.”
| "Aubergine Parmigiana!" |
She explains that it was Aubergine Parmigiana, and he is sure it will still be tasty today. “As it happens, I’m free tonight,” he adds, “And I promise to eat every bite!”
She wants an orange juice, but he insists that he will get her a Prosecco, to go with the Parmigiana.
| Dani is summoned by Gethin |
Jason and Sara arrive at the Deri, just as Dani receives a call from Gethin;
| "I'm going to the hospital" |
she tells Garry that she has to go to the hospital.
| "I thought there was no hope for Moc" |
At number 10, Anita was under the impression that there was no hope for Moc;
| "Do you think there will be a court case?" |
Kelly replies that Gethin promised to text her when he has been to the hospital. “Do you think there will be a court case – if he recovers, like?” she wonders,
| "I really don't want to testify" |
“I really don’t want to testify – the thought of sitting opposite him! Everone will find out everything! Maybe I should go to see someone to help me, especially if this is going to carry on.”
| "I'll contact a police psychologist or whatever" |
She will contact a police psychologist or whatever,
| "We're going to be all right, Auntie Anita" |
and stresses that she and Anita are going to be OK.
| "You are going to take it easy!" |
Kelly says she is going upstairs, and wants Anita to have a cuppa and put her feet up – and no more cleaning, but as soon as Kelly has gone, she resumes her obsessional cleaning.
| Gaynor and Elgan are at the Deri |
Elgan and Gaynor go to see little Ifan in the Deri, and Gaynor asks if Sara is getting any sleep.
| "I'm doing my fair share" |
Jason insists he is doing his fair share of getting up in the night.
| "Poor thing" |
Gaynor remarks as she looks at the baby, “Poor thing.”
| Sara's temper flares up |
Sara takes exception to this remark because he has Down’s. Jason points out that Gaynor did not mean anything, and Elgan thinks it is time they went.
| "You didn't stick up for me!" |
Sara reprimands Jason for not sticking up for her.
| "It went as well as could be expected" |
Dani joins Gethin in the hospital and is told that the operation went as well as could be expected, and they managed to repair the gut.
| "So he's going to recover?" |
“So he’s going to recover, is he?” asks Dani, “They wouldn’t have operated if they thought there was no point.
| "He's going to survive?" |
“He’s going to survive, isn’t he?”over
| Sara has stomped off home . . . |
Sara has decided that they should return home,
| . . . moaning about Gaynor |
and moans that Gaynor spoiled everything; “That wouldn’t have ‘slipped out’ if she hadn’t been thinking it!”
| "Gaynor's not prejudiced" |
Jason insists that Gaynor is not the type to be prejudiced, and remarks that Ifan is going to be seeing a lot of the doctor now.
| Sara snaps at Jason again |
“Why?” demands Sara, “Ifan isn’t weaker than any other baby!”
| "Sara, all babies get ill" |
Jason warns all babies get ill, and that they cannot let every little thing upset them without reason, as that there are much tougher battles ahead.
| Gaynor is not expecting their meal to be as good . . . |
Gaynor is not expecting the meal to be as nice, now it has been reheated,
| . . . but Elgan is looking forward to it |
but Elgan comments that his stomach is rumbling. Again he apologises for last night, and she is upset for being so tactless with Sara. He appreciates that she didn’t mean to be nasty, and Sara misunderstood. “I don’t know how I could be so insensitive,” she frets.
| The expert relieves Gaynor's tension |
Elgan massages her neck and shoulders; “It’s the levator scapulae,” he diagnoses,
| "Only special patients get this treatment" |
and she hopes he does not offer this type of treatment to all his patients. “Only the special ones!” he assures her. Then his phone sounds;
| "I don't know how to tell you this!" |
he looks serious and says, “I don’t know how to tell you this! But I’ve used up all my data allowance!”
| "Come on, put that phone away!" |
They both laugh and she insists that he puts his phone away.
| "You might be more comfortable on the sofa" |
He suggests that the massage might be more comfortable if she lay down on the sofa,
| "Forget the food – come on!" |
but she replies, “It might be more successful upstairs – forget the food – come on!”
| "He looks so fragile!" |
Dani and Gethin enter the hospital room where Moc lies motionless; “Is it me, or has he aged overnight?” asks Gethin, “He looks so fragile!
| "I want him to realise his life's over" |
“Seeing him like this, knowing he could have slipped through our fingers – I’m glad he’s still here. I realise now I was wrong to wish he’d die here. I want him to realise his life’s over – and there’s nothing he can do about it!
| "I want him to really dug-ffer!" |
“I want him to go to prison – and suffer – really suffer – until he’s praying to die!” Dani has walked out of the room during this diatribe.
| And still Anita scrubs furiously |
Anita is still scrubbing furiously when Kelly comes downstairs;
| "There's nothing to clean . . ." |
“There’s nothing to clean!” Kelly angrily tells her,
| ". . . look, not a trace!" |
“The blood has gone, all of it. There’s nothing there!”
| Anita sobs uncontrollably |
Anita bursts into tears.
| "How can you be so cruel?" |
Outside the hospital room, Dani demands how Gethin can be so cruel. He explains, “I can understand – just – why you somehow feel responsible –
| "How can you feel sorry for him?" |
“but to feel sorry for him?” She replies that she cannot forget all her memories of when she was little. “Nor can I!” he exclaims, “And, believe me, I’ve tried!”
She tells him, “He doesn’t deserve to be called your father – I’m the first to admit that,
| "Things were different between us" |
“but things were different between us. Why don’t you understand I can’t flip a switch to feel nothing?” Gethin reminds her that he wanted to kill them, and that the man does not deserve her love.
Dani answers, “He’s my father, Gethin – despite everything he’s done, I love him! But I hate him too – and I don’t know which is worse! Do you think there’s something wrong with me because I love him?
| "That man's not worth it!" |
“It’s time you stopped doing this to yourself!” Gethin tells her, “That man’s not worth it!”
| "What if Moc says you abducted him?" |
“What if Moc says you abducted him, and Garry . . ?” begins Dani, but Gethin replies that Moc has no proof, and it would simply be their word against his.
| "Who would believe that disgusting paedo?" |
He demands who would believe a disgusting paedo like Moc, and advises Dani that she must decide whose side she is on.
| Garry leaves a message for Dani |
In the Deri, Garry leaves a message for Dani, asking how things are, and assuring her that he is thinking of her. “If you need anything, phone me – I love you.”
| "We should have had a professional in" |
Kelly tells Anita they should have had a professional to do the clean-up;
| "I forgot about you" |
“I was too busy making sure I was OK that I forgot about you. There’s no point being all supportive and neglecting yourself.”
| "I can see the blood, although it's not there!" |
Anita acknowledges that she was not ready to come back to number 10; she thought it would be fine, but it is worse. “I can see the blood – even though it’s not there!” she sobs, “I know it’s not there, but I can’t help it.
| "I hear that gun, and the screaming!" |
“When I close my eyes and try to go to sleep, all I can hear is that gun firing, and all of us screaming! I wanted to get up, but I was afraid of what I’d see downstairs.”
| "We should both see the psychologist" |
Kelly suggests that they should both see the police psychologist, but Anita insists, “It’s not me, Kelly – it’s the house! What took place is part of the building now – it’s in the walls –
| "I want to sell this place" |
“we can’t stay here much longer! I want to sell this place.”
| Dani stands at the bedside . . . |
Dani stands by her father’s bedside,
| . . . and holds her father's hand |
and takes his hand.
