"I know it won't be easy to face Sioned"
Eileen comes out of the shop to wish Ed well for today;  “I know it won’t be easy to face Sioned.”
"Have you had permission to visit her?"
He asks if she has had permission to visit, and she answers, “Not yet – I hope you manage to get what you’re looking for.”
"Our Christmas bookings are down on last year"
As he walks away, Sheryl calls to Eileen, “Are things quiet?   Our Christmas bookings are down on last year.”
"You should advertise on CwmFM"
Eileen suggests that she advertise on CwmFM, but she is already doing that.   “Cwmderi should hold some kind of Christmas event, shouldn’t it?” Sheryl continues,
"This village is useless sometimes"
“This village is useless sometimes.”
"Get Debbie to organise something"
Eileen suggests that she ask Debbie to organise something, as she is a community councillor, so Sheryl goes across to the café.
"One of the turkeys is ill"
At Penrhewl, Eifion reports that one of the turkeys is ill, so he has separated it from the rest, and is about to call the vet.
"I hope it's not bird flu"
“I hope it’s not bird flu, but the others look all right.”
Boiled eggs for Eifion's breakfast
Cadno says that it is probably his imagination, and puts his two boiled eggs on the table.
She also advises him not to say a word to Mathew, who is of course just on his way into the room and overhears this.
"I'm taking the boys to school"
Cadno takes the boys to school,
"What's going on, Eifion?"
and Mathew wants to know what is going on.
“It’s nothing you have done,” Eifion reassures him, “One of the turkeys is ill, and I’m worried that it’s bird flu – Cadno didn’t want me to tell you, OK?
"That's why I'm phoning the vet"
“That’s why I’m phoning the vet”
Chester is sketching
Chester is sketching a portrait of Hannah, but hides it, inside a newspaper, when he hears her coming in;
"What were you doing, Chester?"
she asks what he was doing, and he tells her it was nothing, naturally raising her suspicions.   He insists that it is a secret, and as they leave for school, she is confident that she will find out.
"Nefi wen!"
In the doorway they bump into Dai, who exclaims, as usual, “Nefi wen!   Idiot!”
Tidy-minded Dai . . .
He puts on the kettle, then sees a newspaper on the table,
. . . checks the newspaper's date . . .
myopically checks on the date
. . . then disposes of it
and throws it in the bin.
"Mulled wine, mince pies – that sort of thing"
In the café, Sheryl is so enthusiastic about this shopping event, mentioning, “Mulled wine, mince pies – that sort of thing!” that Debbie pronounces it a good idea,
"I'm much too busy"
and encourages her to organise it.   “You’re the community councillor,” protests Sheryl, but Debbie maintains that she is too busy, and has mince pies coming out of her ears.
"Awyr Iach will donate something"
Sara says that Awyr Iach will offer something for the event, and asks when it will be.   Sheryl cannot do anything until next week,
"Eeveryone will have finished Christmas shopping by then!"
but Debbie reminds her that everyone will have finished their Christmas shopping by then.   “Friday is the first day of Advent, so that’s when it should be.   And you should organise a meeting today, so that businesses can plan,” Debbie advises her.
Sheryl realises she is going to have to organise this
Sheryl concludes that she has talked herself into a job.
Cadno is given a pair of mittens
Hannah meets Cadno in the street and gives her a present, a pair of mittens which she has made over the weekend.   Cadno again bemoans the fact that she cannot knit;
"Auntie Marian was like a cardigan factory!"
“Auntie Marian was like a cardigan factory!”
"I'll come over later"
Hannah is very keen to teach her and will come over to the farm later.
"Eifion says we might have bird flu"
Then Mathew emerges from the alley and remarks, “Eifion said we might have bird flu,” but she advises him not to listen to Eifion, as hundreds of things can make a bird ill, and the vet has not even been yet.
"Mind you don't say anything"
She urges him not to say anything, as they do not want people talking.
"You could take orders for Penrhewl turkeys"
Sheryl comes across from the café, telling Cadno about the shopping event, and invites her to have a stall taking orders for Penrhewl turkeys.   “There’s a meeting in the Deri at half past one,” she adds.
Sioned enters the visiting room . . .
The prisoners in their yellow tabards file into the visiting room, following which the visitors arrive;
. . . where she is joined by Ed
Ed sits down opposite Sioned, who is very glad that he came.
"I'm better now that you've arrived"
She says that she is better now that he has arrived, and that she deserved the things said by the judge.
"I didn't want to hurt you"
“He was very hard on you – I didn’t want to hurt you, Sioned,” Ed tells her.
"Things can improve between us"
“Maybe this is what was needed for things to improve between us,” she suggests, “Don’t you agree?” Ed does not reply.
"Come on – show me, Chester!"
Hannah appears to have been nagging Chester all day, so he decides to show her the drawing, which he made as a present to say sorry for causing her to worry that they were over.
"You're a real romantic softie!"
She is very touched by this, and calls him, “A real romantic softie!”
"It's over here . . ."
However, when he looks at the table, the newspaper has disappeared,
He extricates it from the bin . . .
and he finds it in the bin, with the drawing all crumpled inside it.
. . . then finds an expensive bottle of whisky . . .
He is furious and takes revenge by finding a bottle of Dai’s favourite whisky,
. . . and pours it down the sink
and pouring it down the sink,
"No, Chester, no!"
although Hannah vainly urges him to stop.
"Very grown-up!"
“Brilliant!   Very grown-up!” she snarls;  she cannot believe him sometimes.
"How are they treating you?"
Ed asks if they are treating Sioned all right, and she says that she knows who to avoid;  “I shall be all right, especially now I have something to aim for,” she says,
"Now you've come to apologise, there's hope for us"
“Us – now you’ve come to apologise, there is hope for us again.”
"I've come for an apology from you!"
He is horrified, and assures her, “I haven’t come here to apologise – I’ve come here for an apology from you.”
"But you put me in here!"
She argues that he has put her in here, but he corrects her, “You put yourself in here!”
“So you haven’t come here to reconcile?” she enquires,
"You need to prove you're sorry"
and he points out that she needs to prove that she is sorry;  an apology would be a start.   He knows that deep down she regrets what she did, and he invites her to say sorry.
"Say sorry to you?"
Her reply is, “Not as long as there is breath in my body!   Say sorry to you?
Sioned lists all Ed's faults and failures
“The guy who killed Dewi – the guy who attacked Gwyneth – the guy who faked his own death – the guy who slept with my sister!
"You should be in here, not me!"
“You should be in here, not me!   What you’ve done is much worse – you’ve ruined my life!   You’d better start thinking how you’re going to make up for that!”
"To think that I once loved you!"
Ed sadly shakes his head;  “To think that I once loved you – I’m not coming back again.   Enjoy your life.”
Ed walks out of her life
He gets up and leaves the room,
Things have not been going Sioned's way recently
while Sioned appears devastated.
Hannah waits for the inevitable
Hannah and Chester are eating their lunch when Dai returns home;  “Haven’t you got a school to go to?   I can’t even eat my lunch in peace!”
"Who drank this?"
Then he sees the empty whisky bottle by the sink, and demands, “Who drank this?   This is my finest whisky – who drank it?”   Hannah invites Chester to answer.
"I threw it down the sink"
He explains that he did not drink a drop, but rather threw it down the sink.
"This is a 12-year-old single malt!"
Dai explodes with fury, “This is a 12-year-old single malt!”   Chester corrects him, that it was, and the outburst continues, “Is there something wrong with you?”
“You threw my drawing away!” Chester shouts,
"Never seen this in my life!"
but Dai maintains he has never seen this drawing in his life, and describes it as rubbish, demanding that Chester repay every penny for that bottle.
"Do you realise how much this cost?"
“Do you two realise how much whisky like this costs?”   Hannah protests that the drawing is not rubbish,
"Come on, Chester, we're going!"
and takes Chester off to school, with Dai shouting after them, “You haven’t heard the last of this!”
"The turkey is dead"
Cadno finds Eifion in the Deri, and asks what the vet said;  “The Turkey is dead, but he does not think it is bird flu.   I asked him for the tests just in case.”
"Was that necessary?"
Cadno does not think that it was necessary, but he insists that it is the responsible thing to do, and vet will be carrying out the testing this afternoon.
"I've got a feeling something's not right"
“I’ve just got a feeling something’s not right.”
"Why the long faces over there?"

When Jim sees their long faces, Cadno explains that the turkeys are not selling as well as they would like.   He suggests that he could put up a poster in the shop.
The Christmas event committee is in session . . .
Then Cadno goes to join the group of business-women talking about the Christmas event,
. . . and the consensus is that Sheryl should so everything
where Sheryl is given the task of producing some flyers by this afternoon.   “The only person who has confirmed they will take a stall is Cadno, so you had better hurry up!” she grumbles.
"It's pretty cool when Dai's not here"
Later, Chester tells Hannah, “When Dai’s not here, this house is pretty cool,” but she warns him against making an enemy of Dai.   He wonders if she likes the drawing,
"It's not finished yet, is it?"
but she points out that it is not finished yet;  “And I think that one good turn deserves another – you supported me with the veganism,
"Uncle David stole the meat from the community fridge"
and you have shown more willpower than Uncle David – when he stole the meat from the community fridge!   I just wanted to support you.”
Hannah is off for some knitting tuition
Now she has to go, as she is teaching Cadno to knit.   As soon as she is out of the door, Chester looks as if he intends to do something.
"Sioned is not going to change"
Ed goes to visit Eileen and Jim, with the bad news, “Sioned’s not going to change.   She said everything was my fault, and that I should be in there, not her.
"She didn't accept any blame at all"
“She didn’t accept any blame at all.”
"Typical Sioned!"
Jim thinks she might listen to her mother, but Eileen is sure that she will not;  “I’m not going to see her – there is no point.
"There's no hope for her"
“There’s no hope for her – we’re wasting our time.   I’m completely sure that I did the right thing in court.   I want a favour – where’s your ladder?”
Jim points out that he cannot climb a ladder in his condition;
"I should have done this a long time ago!"
“You won’t have to – I should have done this a long time ago!” exclaims Eileen, and walks out of the room.
Cadno is slowly getting there
Cadno is under instruction, and predicts, “It will take me all winter to knit one scarf,” but Hannah says that she will get quicker, and that knitting is a fashionable thing to do.
"Two old grandmothers!"
Eifion comes in and describes them as, “Two old grandmothers,” so Cadno remarks that he would not know fashion if it screamed in his face.
"You should sell scarves on Friday"
Hannah comes up with the idea that she should sell scarves on Friday, instead of turkeys.
"What's this about Friday?"
Then Cadno has to explain to Eifion about the local shopping event, at which they have a stall.   He is adamant that she needs to cancel it, and Hannah thinks it wise to leave the farm.
"Have you taken leave of your senses?"
Eifion rants, “Have you taken leave of your senses?   It’s bad enough that you invite that damned vegan to our house!   We can’t take turkey orders, while waiting for bird flu test results!”
"This bird flu is all in your head!"
Mathew has just walked in, as Cadno tells Eifion that this bird flu is all in his head.   “If you won’t cancel this stall, I will!”
"No, you're not cancelling it!"
he informs her, but she grabs his phone, insisting that they have done everything by the book,
She does not want him to make things worse
and warning him to stop before he makes things worse.
Chester is sorely tempted . . .
Alone in Bryntirion, Chester can no longer resist the temptation,
. . . and retrieves his carefully-hidden sausage roll . . .
but retrieves, from the back of a cupboard, a hidden sausage roll.
. . . which he enjoys immensely
As he savours the taste of real meat, Dai comes silently in and creeps up behind him.
"I knew I couldn't trust you!"
“Well, well, well!   I knew I couldn’t trust you!” Dai gloats,
"Please don't tell Hannah!"
and Chester pleads with him not to tell Hannah.
"I don't know what I'm going to do"
“Do you know what?   I don’t know what I’m going to do – I will think about it, OK?
"In the meantime, enjoy your sausage roll!"
“And in the meantime, enjoy your sausage roll – and I hope it’ll be worth it!”
Chester dreads the outcome of this
Chester anticipates trouble.
Her job done, Eileen carefully descends
Eileen is making her way down the ladder outside the shop;  she hands the can of paint and brush to Jim.
"That's better!"
“That’s better!” she says, and the three of them look up at her handiwork;
It is no longer 'SIONED'S SHOP'
the words ‘SIOP SIONED’ have been expunged from the shop frontage.
"I don't care what Sioned thinks"
Eileen goes on, “I don’t care what Sioned thinks – I don’t want anything to do with her!
"She'll realise a lot of things have changed!"
“When she comes out, she’ll realise that a lot of things have changed!”
