1 November 2017

The café door is unlocked
When Kelly arrives for work, she finds the café door unlocked and is very cautious as she enters;
Kelly looks around warily . . .
as she looks around,
. . . and notices the lamp on the stairs
she sees the lamp lying on the stairs,
She goes to investigate
and goes up to investigate.
Kelly surveys the carnage . . .
She is aghast when she sees the state of the flat and the word ‘bitch’ painted on the wall,
. . . and the word painted on the wall
but immediately realises that she is being set up.
"You've gone too far this time!"
Right on cue, Sioned comes in, affects outrage and demands, “What have you done?   You’ve gone too far this time!”
"Police, please"
She gleefully phones for the police,
"What do you think you're doing?"
while Kelly asks what she thinks she is doing.   “Somebody has trashed my home, and I think I know who it is,” Sioned informs the constabulary, “You’d better come quick!”
"How can you stoop so low?"
“How low can you stoop?” demands Kelly,
"We'll see what the police think"
but Sioned replies that it is in police hands now, and she will see what they think,
"Everyone knows you painted the shop"
emphasising that everyone knows Kelly painted the shop.
"You're bonkers!"
Kelly walks out, commenting, “You’re bonkers!”
Sioned is very pleased with herself
and Sioned smiles contentedly.
They give their wildly differing accounts to Debbie
Downstairs, Debbie has just arrived and wonders what is going on;  Kelly informs her, “Sioned has trashed the flat and she’s trying to blame me!”   Sioned is eager to point out that she just caught Kelly up there, and Kelly describes her as, “Unbelievable!”
"Both of you should grow up!"
Debbie recommends that the pair of them should grow up, but Kelly protests that she has done nothing wrong.   “I warned you about your nonsense,” Debbie tells Sioned,
Sioned puts on an innocent look
but she also insists that she has done nothing.
"Do you really think I'm capable of that?"
“Yesterday you thought I was a thief,” Kelly tells Debbie, “Do you really think I’m capable of that?”   Sioned interrupts again with the same accusation,
"Shut up, Sioned!"
and Kelly screams, “Shut up, Sioned – I’m not talking to you!”
"You're going to believe her word over mine?"
“You’re going to believe her word over mine?” she goes on,
"Well, you lied about the fridge"
but Debbie points out that she lied about the fridge;  Kelly insists that she would not make the same mistake again.   Debbie does not know what to believe any more.
"Do you know what?   I quit!"
Kelly squeals, “Thanks for the support – do you know what?   I quit!   I don’t want to work near this psychopath, anyway!”
"Kelly is a dangerous woman"
Sioned comments that Kelly is a dangerous woman,
"Says you!"
but Debbie takes that allegation with a very large pinch of salt.
"I've got to go all the way to Nantycaws!"
Jason is preparing to go to work, and complains that Dai is taking on all kinds of jobs;  he has to drive all the way to Nantycaws to put a slate on a roof.
"You could take Ifan with you"
Sara tells him that he is welcome to take Ifan with him, as she has plenty to do;  Elinor is still ill, and unable to look after him, so she must take him to work with her.
Sioned attacks the carpet with a scrubbing brush
Sioned is scrubbing the carpet when her mother comes in;
"Why did you have to plead not guilty?"
“Was it Kelly again?” she asks, “Why did you have to plead not guilty?” and advises that it is not the way to clean it;  she takes over the job.
"I just panicked"
Sioned replies that she panicked, at the plea hearing,
Eileen does not believe a word of it
but Eileen is sceptical about this.   “I’m in an impossible position,” Sioned whines, and her mother says she has to face the consequences of what she has done.
"I don't think I can do it"
“I wish I had more backbone,” Sioned continues, “I don’t think I can do it – I’m not strong enough – but maybe I have a choice.   I can’t help but think there’s another option –
Perhaps the threat of suicide will do the trick
“I can’t face it, Mam – I don’t want to live any more!”   Eileen is alarmed by this.
"No-one wants me!"
Vicky is very dejected;  “No-one wants me,” she laments,
"There's no need for any rent this week"
and Debbie tells her she will not expect any rent this week, but Vicky is insistent she will find the money somehow.   She suggests that she could help here in the café,
"I don't think that's a good idea"
but her mother thinks that is not a good idea.
“You and Gwen can’t handle the place,” Vicky reminds her, but Debbie predicts that they would only argue.
Sara arrives with the baby
Sara comes in, wanting to plug in her laptop;  “Looking after a baby and running a business is impossible!” she says, “I had to close Awyr Iach, because the phone kept waking him, and all my staff are away!”
There is a job opportunity here
Debbie detects a job opportunity for Vicky here,
"She's already said she doesn't want me"
but is reminded that Sara refused her recently.
"How long have you felt like this?"
Eileen brings Sioned a cup of tea and asks how long she has felt like this;
"More and more as the hearing gets nearer"
adopting a appropriately suicidal tone, Sioned replies, “More and more as the hearing gets nearer.   I don’t want to talk to anyone – telling you was hard enough.”
"You wouldn't lie about something like this?"
Her mother asks if she would lie about something like this;
"Is thast what you really think of me?"
“Is that what you really think of me?” groans Sioned,
"I wouldn't put anything past you!"
but Eileen knows from experience she would not put anything past her daughter.   “Thanks, Mam – I knew I should have kept quiet,” replies Sioned.
Eileen points out that Sioned has told so many lies that she does not know what to think any more;
"No-one will help me!"
“I’m on my own – no-one will help me!” wails Sioned, but her mother knows this is a way to get her to be a character witness.   She reminds Sioned that it would be deception, and she cannot lie under oath.
Sioned alleges that she gave up on having a character witness weeks ago;
"There is no way out of this"
“That’s the point – there is no way out of this,” Sioned says, and leaves to go for a walk, refusing her mother’s offer to accompany her.
"She's trying to frame me!"
A police constable comes to visit Kelly, and she immediately insists, “She’s trying to frame me!”
"What time did you arrive at the flat?"
PC James asks when she arrived at the flat, and Kelly tells him, “About 8 o’clock – the café was open and there was a lamp at the bottom of the stairs.
"I hate her guts, but I don't want her to get hurt"
“It was weird – I hate her guts, but I don’t want her to get hurt, so I went up, and I walked into the mess.   Then she came out and started accusing me – I knew what her plan was – she’d painted ‘BITCH’ on the wall.”
"The same thing that was written on the shop?"
“The same thing that was written on the shop a few weeks ago?” the officer enquires, “And you don’t know anything about that either?”
"Loads of other people would like to do it!"
Kelly is forthright;  “Listen, right – if I wanted to trash her flat, I would have done it by now!   Anyway, loads of other people would like to trash the flat as well.   She did it, OK?   She’s playing the victim before the court case with Ed.”
PC James remarks that Sioned's husband is living here
The PC notes that Mrs Charles’ husband is now living here with Miss Evans,
"We're not together, like"
but Kelly points out, “We’re not together, like.”   Then he asks Ed what time Kelly left for work this morning;
"Just before eight o'clock"
he says he heard her leave just before eight o’clock.   The PC gives them his card and goes, as Kelly once again assures him, “I didn’t do it!”
"If you have nothing to hide . . ."
He tells her that if she has nothing to hide, she has nothing to worry about.
"Do you need help at Awyr Iach?"
In the café, Vicky summons up her courage, and asks if Sara needs any help at Awyr Iach;
Sara becomes quite angry . . .
Sara makes it very clear that she has standards, and does not want Vicky there.   “Just stop hassling me!”
. . . and leaves with Ifan
She picks up Ifan and leaves the café.
Vicky notices something . . .
Then Vicky notices that Sara has left her keys on the table;
. . . and snatches the keys
she picks them up.
Still no reply from Sioned
In the shop, Eileen is becoming anxious as she tries to get a reply from Sioned;
Debbie wants some change
Debbie comes in, wanting some change for the café.
This time it is Cadno ringing
Then Eileen’s phone rings, but it is Cadno, who will be bringing over the vegetables later.   Debbie realises that the problem is Sioned,
"What has she done now?"
and asks, “What has she done now?”
"Nothing – not yet, anyway"
“Nothing – not yet, anyway,” replies Eileen, and Debbie sympathises, as Vicky was always getting herself in trouble.   “Vicky is an angel, compared to Sioned,” Eileen sighs.   Debbie has heard that people are giving Eileen a hard time for supporting Sioned, but Eileen does not find this surprising;
"I can't turn my back on her"
“Whatever she’s done, I can’t turn my back on her, and I can’t stop worrying about her.”
An intruder enters Awyr Iach . . .
Vicky creeps into Awyr Iach
. . . looks at various things . . .
and looks at various items before finding a garment
. . . before putting some of them . . .
and bundling it into her bag,
. . . into her bag
followed by several other things.
"You're making it worse by resigning"
Kelly arrives back at number 10 after visiting the Jobcentre;  Ed thinks she is making things worse by resigning, but she is adamant that she does not want to work there any more.   He suggests that it makes her look guilty;
"You believe me, don't you, Ed?"
“You believe me, don’t you, Ed?” she pleads,
Ed says nothing
but when he makes no reply, she snarls, “Thanks for the vote of confidence!” and stomps off upstairs.
"Sioned!"
Eileen is now in Sioned’s flat,
No reply on the phone
and is still trying to contact her by phone.
Vicky has made herself some money
Vicky sells the scarf to some unknown person in the Deri, urging him to keep it quiet.
Sioned tells Gwen her tale . . .
Sioned is acquainting Gwen with the details of how Kelly vandalised her flat;  “She quit her job, so it’s obvious she did it.”
. . . while Sara bewails the loss of her keys . . .
Sara is trying to contact Jason;  “I’ve lost my keys and I’ve looked everywhere – Ifan and I can’t get back into the house!”
. . . which Vicky finds amusing
Just along the bar, Vicky smirks.
Kelly is surprised to find a meal is ready
Kelly comes back downstairs to find that Ed has prepared her a meal;  she cannot help but smile when she sees the food.
"I should never have doubted you"
“I should never have doubted you,” he admits, and she asks what it is.
It does look somewhat . . . unconventional
“Pasta, eyes and ears,” he explains, “The eyes are mozzarella, and the ears are prawns.”
'The Bride of Frankenstein' DVD
He also presents her with a gift, a DVD of ‘The Bride of Frankenstein’, which they can watch tonight.
"Even though the food looks disgusting!"
“Thank you,” she says, “Even though the food looks disgusting!”   He tells her that is how it is supposed to look,
"Wait till you see the next course!"
and she has not seen the next course yet.
"Everything will be OK, Kelly"
Ed assures her that everything will be OK.
Vicky stashes a bag under the stairs . . .
Vicky hides the bag containing her ill-gotten gains under the stairs at Maes-y-Deri;
. . . and tells her mother she was looking for a changing mat
she tells Debbie that she was looking for Nicky’s changing Mathew,
"You gave that to Iolo and Tyler"
but her mother reminds her they gave it to Iolo and Tyler.
"How can you afford this?"
Then Vicky gives the rent money to her mother, explaining that it was tips she received at the Deri.
"I'm proud of you, Vicky"
Debbie gives her a box of chocolates to cheer her up, stressing that she is proud of Vicky.
"Keys, madam!"
Jason arrives at the Deri, and gives the missing keys to Sara;
"You're joking!"
“They were in the front door of our house,” he announces, and she insists that she has not been home since this morning.
"This baby has affected your brain"
He wants to go and get a takeaway.
"I'll do what you want"
Eileen finally locates Sioned in the Deri and tells her, “I’ll do what do you want –
"I don't know if I'm doing the right thing"
“I’ll tell the court that you’re not guilty.   I don’t know if I’m doing the right thing.”
Sioned has successfully manipulated her mother once more
Sioned is very appreciative.
