Britt shouts at the bank staff
Britt is on the phone to the bank;  “Thanks for the letter, but I’m going to carry on phoning you!” she shouts, but then she hears Colin’s voice, and ends the call.
"You look harassed"
He thinks that she looks harassed, and asks who it was on the phone.
"Only cold callers"
She replies it was only cold callers, trying to sell insurance or something.
Colin is puzzled by her attitude
As she makes some coffee, Colin looks quizzical.
"I didn't really steal them"
Vicky goes round to Penrhewl, protesting once more that she did not steal the clothes, but only found them;  she reminds Mathew that he stole from the Deri, and that she was only trying to help out.
"I'm sorry, Mathew"
“I know I shouldn’t have taken the clothes – I’m sorry!   We’ll try and find a way out – together.”
"Right, you must take them back"
He knows how they can start – by Vicky taking the clothes back to Dani;  he insists that is the only way forward.
"Where could I have put it, Jason?"
At Awyr Iach, Sara is frantically searching, as she has mislaid £300;  “I’d only just taken it out of the cashpoint,” she tells Jason, and he replies that it must be here somewhere.
"Don't just stand there!"
“Don’t just stand there – look under the table!” she orders.
"I can't cope any more . . ."
Britt goes to visit Garry;  “I can’t cope any more – I’ve tried everything –
". . . you have to help me!"
“you have to help me!” she wails,
"We told you the answer is no!"
but Garry points out that he and Dani have already told her that the answer is no.
"I'm talking to the organ-grinder, not the monkey!"
She snarls, “Dani’s explained – but I’m talking to you – the organ grinder, not the monkey!   I’m so stressed.   I can’t sleep, I can’t look at Colin!”
"Just tell Colin!"
Once again Garry advises her to tell Colin, but she adds, “There’s more!   Chester has gambled all his college money away – he’s lost it!”
"Chester is worried about his family!"
Garry I cannot believe this, but Britt explains he was trying to help her;  “Because my brother refused!   Because he’s worried about his mother and his family!”
"Sometimes I can't believe I'm related to you"
Garry remarks that sometimes he cannot believe he is related to Britt;  “Now listen – Colin is a good man – he thinks the world of you.   You should treat him with some respect and tell him the truth!   I’m going back to the bar, and I don’t want to talk about it again until you’ve told Colin!
"And tell Chester he's an idiot!"
“And tell Chester he’s an idiot!”
Colin interrupts Gaynor
At Llwyncelyn, Gaynor is dealing with some paperwork when Colin arrives;
"'Teacher of the Year', Non Mererid!"
“I wanted to ask you a favour,” he begins, but she says she is in a hurry as she has a meeting in an hour, and has had a difficult morning with ‘Teacher of the Year’ Non Mererid.
“Can I have your engagement ring back?” he asks, “My Gran’s ring which I gave to you.”
"I gave that to Izzy"
Gaynor replies that she has given it to Izzy, then realises why Colin wants it.
"I'm going to ask Britt to marry me"
“Yes,” he says, “I’m going to ask Britt to marry me.”
"Oh Colin, I'm so pleased!"
Gaynor is quite excited about this and congratulates him;  she apologises for not being very nice to him.   She also detects that he does not appear to be very happy,
"I'll make us a cup of tea"
and invites him to have a cup of tea with her.
"Hywel will be back next week"
Sheryl tells Britt that Hywel will be back some time next week – too late for his birthday, but that is how the flights worked out.   “It’s about this money,” say Britt,
"Nobody is willing to help me"
“I’ve tried everything, but nobody is willing to help me!   So, as you’re a successful businesswoman, it would be easy for you to get a bank loan.
Britt has it all worked out . . .
“I could pay back Colin’s money and make the repayments in your name.   I know it’s a lot to ask, but we could have a contract.”
. . . but Sheryl's answer is an emphatic 'no'
Sheryl very bluntly tells her that the answer is no, and that she agrees it is too much for Britt to ask. “Oh – I thought you were a friend!” Britt rages,
"You only find out who your friends are in a crisis!"
“It’s true what they say, you only find out who your friends are in a crisis.   Don’t worry, I understand!”   She disappears into the chippy.
"Are you sure about this, Colin?"
Gaynor asks Colin if he is sure about this, and he admits that he is feeling a little nervous.
"Britt has been acting oddly lately"
“Britt’s been acting very oddly recently – but there’s only one way to find out how she feels, isn’t there?   It’s fine about the ring – I can buy Britt a new one.”   Gaynor seems confident that Britt will accept the proposal.
"I've got to ask Garry's permission"
“Right, I must get going – I have a ring to buy, and then I have to call and see Garry to ask for permission.”   She describes him as old-fashioned, but he prefers the word ‘traditional’.
The pregnancy is getting Dani down
Behind the bar at the Deri, Dani is becoming tired of the pregnancy;  “It’s just as uncomfortable sitting down,” she tells Garry.
"Can we have a word in private – about Britt?"
Then Colin comes in, asking, very hesitantly, if he can have a word in private about Britt, and that it is important.
"OK, go up, Colin"
Garry tells him to go upstairs,
"He knows about the money"
and Dani assumes that Britt has told him about the money,
Mal is waiting to be served
then she serves Mal.
“Sorry, Garry, I know you’re busy,” Colin begins, but Garry replies that he realises it is important.
"I think the world of Britt"
“Well, the thing is, I think the world of Britt.”
"Everyone makes mistakes sometimes"
Garry is eager to point out that Britt would not do anything intentionally to hurt him, and says that he has a big heart;  “You understand that everyone makes mistakes sometimes.”
"I'm not quite with you, Garry"
Colin is becoming confused now;  “I’m not quite with you, Garry – have I done something wrong?”   Garry replies that he is just talking generally,
"Can I get you a cup of tea?"
and asks if Colin would like a cup of tea, but he declines the offer.   “I just want to be honest with you, Garry.   As I was saying, I think the world of Britt.
"I want to ask Britt to marry me!"
“I want to ask Britt to marry me!”
This comes as a complete surprise to Garry,
"Are you sure about this, Colin?"
who asks if he is sure;  “That was not what I was expecting to hear,” he says.   Colin continues that he just wants Garry’s permission to ask her,
"Do you have ano objections?"
and enquires if he has any objections.
"Of course not – but are you sure, Colin?"
“Of course not – but are you sure?” Garry demands.   Colin is indeed perfectly sure, shakes Garry’s hand and leaves.
Sheryl arranges white roses . . .
Sheryl is arranging white roses in a vase;
. . . which are placed next to Meilyr's photo
she places them next to a photo of Meilyr and sits down.
"Oh no, just what I need!"
Then there is a knock at the door and in comes Colin,
Colin exhibits the ring
telling her he has Garry’s permission, and a ring, which was not too expensive.   “As you said, there is no need to be too posh – I put it on the credit card, just in case she turns me down.”
"Are you sure about this, Colin?"
Sheryl asks him if he is sure this is sensible, rushing into it like this, but he protests that he is not rushing,
"Why are you being so negative?"
and wonders, “Why are you being so negative?   Tomorrow night will be the most important night of my life!   Right, I had better get going – see you tomorrow.”
"Are these the clothes you lost?"
Vicky comes into the Deri and asks Dani, “Are these the clothes you lost?   They were in the café, and before I knew they were yours, I took them.”
"Let's get this straight – you stole them?"
Dani takes her to one side, and says, “Let’s get this straight – you stole them?”
"I didn't know they were yours"
Vicky insists that she is very sorry, but she did not know they were Dani’s.   “What difference does that make?   You took something that didn’t belong to you!” Dani rebukes her, “I’m really disappointed in you!”
"Everybody's right – I am useless!"
“Everyone’s right about me – I am useless!” laments Vicky, but Dani sympathises;  she knows what it is like to have no money, and she heard what happened to Mathew.
"I think you both deserve a bit of slack"
“I think you both deserve a bit of slack, if I’m honest,” Dani tells her,
"Have a drink on the house, and we'll forget about it"
“So you can have a drink on the house from me for bringing them back, and we’ll forget about it.”
"I don't know what came over me, Sheryl"
Now Britt has arrived at Sheryl’s, in order to apologise;  “I’m so desperate, I think of stupid ideas.   “I don’t know what came over me, asking you to do something like that.”
"It's a difficult day today"
Sheryl just want to forget about it, and explains that today is a difficult day, as it is two years since they lost Meilyr.
"I feel even more of a fool now!"
“Oh, I’m sorry – I feel even more of a fool now!” says Britt, There’s me going on about myself and the money, when you’ve got to deal with this.”
"Colin is almost ready to ask the big question"
Sheryl reveals that Colin has bought a ring and is almost ready to ask the big question.
"I can never accept now, can I?"
Britt is convinced that she can never accept, not now, but is once more advised to simply tell Colin the truth.   Sheryl points out, “My money wouldn’t be able to sort this and neither would a bank.”
Dani makes a very generous offer
Vicky has had her free drink and is about to go, when Dani calls her back;  “How would you like to have your job back?   The temps haven’t been great and I’m shattered most of the time.   Best behaviour, mind you.”
Geraint and Beti are amused by Vicky's reaction
Vicky jumps up and down with excitement, and is told to come in tomorrow and they will discuss the rota.   She dashes off to tell Mathew and Garry asks if Dani is sure about what she is doing.
"I know what it's like, everyone finding fault"
“I know what it’s like, everyone finding fault – struggling to keep your head above water.   It’s nice to help people sometimes!”
"Well, you are the boss!"
Garry tells her that she is the boss.
"What am I going to do, Jason?"
Sara does not know what to do now about the missing money;  “We’ve ransacked everywhere!” she tells Jason.
Vicky makes a strange discovery
At that moment, Vicky opens the community fridge and picks up a pack of ham, underneath which she finds an envelope containing a bundle of £20 notes.
Brandishing the money, she announces to Sara, “Under the ham!” and Sara is amazed, as they have been looking for it all day.
"You put in in the fridge?"
Jason cannot believe that she put it in the fridge, but now she remembers that her hands were full and she must have popped it in under the ham.
"Someone less honest would have put it in their pocket"
“What were you saying just now about losing the plot?” Jason enquires, adding that someone less honest would have just put it in their pocket.   Vicky is feeling considerably better, and Jason considers that Vicky deserves a drink;
"I mean – in the fridge?"
she and Sara head towards the Deri.
"You are carrying quite a bump everywhere you go"
Dani tells Gaynor she did not think she would get so tired;  “Well, you are carrying quite a bump everywhere you go!” is the reply.
"We'll have a bottle"
Vicky and Sara come in for their bottle of wine, and then Mathew arrives.
"Dani's given me my job back!"
“Guess what, Mat?” exclaims Vicky, “Dani’s given me my job back, so we’re celebrating!”
Mathew is extremely grateful . . .
Mathew is very pleased to hear the news, but is absolutely dumbfounded
. . . but then receives a tremendous shock
when Garry asks him if he wants his job back too, maintaining that everybody deserves a second chance.   This comes as a surprise to Dani, but he reminds her how tired she always is.    Vicky and Mathew do not know quite what to say.
"It is a nice feeling to help people sometimes!"
Garry tells Dani that she was right;  “It is a nice feeling to help people sometimes!”
Both Dani and  . . .
Dani
. . . Mathew think this could be awkward
and Mathew look at each other, uneasily.
"Did you enjoy the cawl for dinner?"
Colin puts on some soft music and sits down beside Britt;  she asks if if he enjoyed the cawl for dinner, and he says it was lovely.   “Sheryl and I were talking earlier, about money – and little Meilyr,” Britt remarks, “We were saying that money isn’t everything.”
"I'm glad I can help the children go to college"
Colin observes that it does help;  “You know, I’m glad that I can help the children go to college.”
"If we're still together by then"
“If we’re still together by then,” she adds, and he wonders why they should not be.
"Is everything OK, Britt?"
He asks her if everything is OK, as she has not been herself recently.
“It feels like you’ve been avoiding me, making a weird phone calls.”   She replies that she has been a bit worried about Chester, and the kids.   “I just wanted to make sure you’re OK,” he says,
"You do know that I love you, don't you?"
“You do know that I love you, don’t you?”
Britt has an uneasy feeling . . .
He gently takes her hand, and begins, “Britt,” but she, sensing what is about to happen, suddenly alleges that she feels tired,
. . . and an overwhelming urge to have an immediate bath . . .
and decides that she must go for a bath straightaway.
. . . leaving Colin disappointed
Colin looks very disappointed.
