Gaynor delivers some documents
Gaynor personally delivers some documents concerning the new school’s new playing field, for Garry’s comments,
"I have to get things organised"
as she is keen to get things organised.
"No, I've got this to do!"
As she leaves, Dani comes in, asking if Garry can do the brewery order, but he insists he has to deal with the paperwork Gaynor has just delivered.
Dani has had about enough
“I took Gwern to school, and have to sort of the bar and serve!” she moans.
"Well, I don't believe it!"
Diane has a shock when she looks at the laptop;  “Emma and Dirk have got engaged!” she exclaims,
"They've done what?"
which does not please Hannah.
The engagement ring
There is a photo of the ring, but Hannah demands why on earth she had to get engaged to him.   DJ comments that perhaps she loves him,
Hannah's worst nightmare
but Hannah describes it as her worst nightmare, and storms out of the house.
DS Davies arrives to see Sioned
DS Davies arrives at the door of Sioned’s flat, advising, “I’m afraid there is no further news about Mr Charles, but I’d like you to come down to the station,
"A serious accusation has been made against you"
as a serious accusation has been made against you, which suggests that you were abusing Ed Charles, and not the other way round.”
"I've done nothing wrong!"
Sioned reaches the conclusion that Kelly has been to see her, and insists she has done nothing wrong, so does not need to be interviewed.
"You don't have anything to hide – do you?"
The DS, on the other hand replies, “You don’t have anything to hide – do you?   Will you come and answer a few questions?”
Sioned is escorted by the police
Kelly is cleaning the café windows when Sioned is escorted out to the police car, and Mathew is at the cashpoint.
She looks across to her mother . . .
Sioned looks across to the shop,
. . . who is disinterested
where her mother is also watching, but turns away.
"Why did she say yes to him?"
Hannah complains to Chester, “Why did she say yes to him?”
"This may not be as bad as you think"
Chester is of the opinion that this may not be as bad as she thinks, and suggests that she could use this development as an excuse not to go home.   “Don’t be stupid!” she says, but he points out that they could spend more time together, and he would really like that.   Apparently, Diane has already bought her flight tickets.
"Do we have any more of these?"
Dani is once more in the cellar, when Mathew wants to know if they have more stock of a particular drink;  she snaps, “You’ve got eyes – look yourself!” then she apologises for her outburst.
"Vicky's in a bad mood as well"
Mathew says that Vicky is also in a bad mood today, as Ricky broke her hair straighteners;  “What is it with girls and their hair?” he asks.
"Three cases of expensive champagne!"
Dani finds an invoice for three cases of expensive champagne, and Mathew comments that anyone would need a mortgage to afford them.   Dani seems very suspicious.
"I can't change her mind"
When Hannah arrives back at Bryntirion, she tells Diane that she may as well accept her mother’s decision, as she is not going to be able to change it.   Then she pleads, “Can I stay here with you?   I’m enjoying myself here, and don’t want to go back just yet.”
"Your mother is expecting you back"
Diane replies that her mother is expecting her.
“She’ll only go from one engagement party to the next – I doubt if she’ll mind me staying,” continues Hannah.   Diane declares she does not want to come between the two of them.
Hannah tries bribery
Hannah then produces a box of Black Magic chocolates;  “Please, Mam-gu?” she entreats.
Sioned is shown the photos
Showing Sioned the photos from Kelly’s phone,
"A fight in Swansea?"
DS Davies queries, “So you’re saying that he got these in a fight in Swansea?”
"I can't remember the name of the pub"
Sioned answers that it was in a pub, the name of which she cannot remember, a few days before he disappeared.
DS Davies treats her replies with some cynicism
Which is totally different to what you said before – that he got the bruises playing rugby,” points out the DS.   Sioned explains that her head is all over the place, and that it is not a big deal anyway.   Some yob said that Ed gave him a funny look when he walked into the pub.   “Kelly Evans says you are responsible for the bruises,” DS Davies reminds her, but Sioned insists that Kelly knows nothing.
"I reported him in February"
“He was hitting me, and I reported him in February,” asserts Sioned, but she is reminded that she withdrew the allegation straightaway, and the DS wonders why – could it be that it was not true?   When Sioned shouts that it was true, DS Davies mentions that Kelly Evans said that she had a short temper.
Dani points out some discrepancies
Back in the cellar, Dani advises Garry that some items in the accounts book do not make sense;  “What’s this order for champagne at £3,000 a case?   Our punters don’t drink expensive stuff like that – or this expensive brandy – I can’t find any of that here.
"What's going on?"
There are receipts here from companies I’ve never heard of, so what’s going on?   We promised to be honest with each other – so spill!”
Garry has been 'hiding' money
He explains that he wanted to hide some money, and the fake orders are a good way to do that.
"You're laundering money?"
“You’re laundering money through the Deri?” rages Dani, “Putting our livelihood at risk!   I know you do dodgy deals at the garage, but the Deri is supposed to be clean!”
"What are you – stupid?"
Garry snarls, “I can’t hide it all in the garage – what are you – stupid?   Dani takes exception to this and rushes out.
"We all go down with it!"
They continue the altercation up in the flat;  “If the Deri goes down, we go down with it!” warns Dani, “Do what you like in the garage, but this is a family business for all of us.
"Call yourself a family man?"
It seems you’re willing to jeopardise it for your own ends – and you call yourself a family man!”
“The way I’ve looked after Chester and Gwern proves I’m a family man,” Garry argues,
"All you've done is nag, nag, nag!"
“All you’ve done is nag, nag, nag!”   Dani is of the opinion that she had good reason to do so, when she finds out he is risking their home to launder dirty money she does not even want.
"You wouldn't have it, if it wasn't for me!"
“You wouldn’t have what you have if it wasn’t for me,” he roars, “Don’t turn round now and start sulking!   Business, cars, posh clothes –
He viciously pokes her
you wouldn’t have married me unless you wanted that!”
"Why would Kelly go to all that trouble?"
The DS wonders why Kelly went to so much trouble if her allegations are not true, and Sioned maintains she just likes stirring.   “Kelly made the allegation a fortnight ago, and we said we needed evidence – now she has provided it,” DS Davies says,
"They don't prove anything"
and when Sioned insists that the photos do not prove anything, she adds, “You can’t name the pub where they allegedly happened, or the name of the attacker.”
"Kelly's obsessed!"
Sioned answers, “Kelly is jealous – she had a thing for Ed – a bit of an obsession.   It would be difficult for her to admit it – nothing happened, but she wanted it to – she couldn’t deal with the fact that he didn’t want her.   All you’ve got is my word against hers.
"I suggest you let me go"
I suggest you let me go so that I can carry on searching for Ed!”
"I think you'd better sit down!"
Hannah arrives at the chip shop flat looking sombre;  “I think you’d better sit down,” she tells Chester,
"This may come as a bit of a shock"
“This may come as a bit of a shock!”   Chester fears what she is about to say, then she announces, “I’m staying in Cwmderi!   I like winding you up!   Are you pleased, then?”
"I'm having a good time"
Chester most certainly is, and asks what changed her mind.   “I’m having a good time, and I don’t want it to end just yet,” is her reply.
Eileen puts out the rubbish
Eileen is putting out the rubbish when Sioned appears in the alley, asking if she wants to know what the DS wanted;  “I don’t want to know!” she replies.
"Have you told anyone?"
 Then Sioned enquires if her mother or Jim have told anyone about what she said;
"No – I'm too ashamed!"
“No – because I’m too ashamed,” says Eileen, and goes back inside.
Garry returns the documents
Garry takes the school documents back to Gaynor, and when given a glass of wine, comments, “Life can be a bit of a challenge sometimes!”
"Shall I get the 'bong'?"
“You’ve come to the right place,” laughs Gaynor, “Shall I get the ‘bong’?”
Mathew finds Dani in tears
Mathew goes upstairs and finds Dani in tears;  after first denying anything is wrong,
"It's one thing after another"
she admits to him, “It feels like all we do these days is argue – it’s one thing after another with him – he works me like a dog, and forces me to live with his ex.   He takes it for granted that I’ll bring up his son – and there are other things – much worse!   But you don’t want to know about that.
"I'm fed up with it too!"
He said he was fed up with it – and do you know what?   So am I!”
They seem to be getting on famously
Gaynor reminisces about a Jamaican holiday years ago, and when Garry thinks it is time he left,
"You've just started to relax"
urges him to stay and finish the bottle, as he has started to relax.   “I can’t remember the last time I had the chance to do that,” he grumbles, “It’s one thing after another these days – the garage, the Deri – and no-one seems to appreciate it.”
"Garry Monk revealing his deepest secrets?"
“Have I just heard Garry Monk reveal his deepest secrets?” teases Gaynor,
Looks like a bit of flirting . . .
and he strokes her shoulder.   She regards this as an invitation
. . . well that is what Gaynor thinks
and goes to kiss him, but he stops her, advising that he is married,
"Despite everything, I love Dani"
and despite everything he loves Dani.
"I'm sure you'll work it out"
Mathew says he is sure that Dani can work out her problems with Garry,
"I don't know how"
but she whimpers that she does not know how.
Mathew tries to comfort her . . .
He hugs her,
.  . . and before they know it . . .
and this rapidly develops into a kiss;
. . . it is time for the closing credits
she passionately pulls off his shirt, and, mercifully, the end of the episode arrives before she can divest him of anything else.
