Cwmderi Diary 2017: 1 March 2017

"Still here, are you?"

Gwyneth’s bags are packed and Siôn is eager for her to get out; “Still here, are you? By the morning, I said!” She explains that there was a lot of stuff to pack,

"Can we talk?"

then asks if they could talk for a minute;

"There's nothing to talk about"

he maintains that there is nothing to talk about.

“I deserve the opportunity to talk – you owe me that at least,” she whines, “I was hurt yesterday – it was so unexpected!

"You have to believe me!"

“What you said was wrong – I do love you! You have to believe me!”

“Why?” he demands, “For your plan to work? The only reason you’re with me is to give Gwern a home –

"For once in your life, tell the truth!"

“for once in your life, tell the truth!” She continues insisting that she wants to be with him, but he backs away from her, remarking, “You never give up, do you?”

"You're a fine one to talk!"

In the Deri, Garry is angry about the abortive wedding, and Dani comments that he is a fine one to talk.

"The boy doesn't know whether he's coming or going!"

“I’m worried about Gwern – the boy doesn’t know if he is coming or going!” he rages, but Dani reminds him that he told Siôn to finish with her. “But not at the altar!” he snaps.

Colin comes skipping into the Deri;

"A perfect day to launch a modelling career!"

“A happy St David’s Day to you all! A perfect day to launch a modelling career!”

They appear disinterested

Garry and Dani look completely unimpressed. “Do you have any fresh Welsh Cakes today – or Cawl?” Colin enquires, and Dani replies they have not, unless Garry has been doing some cooking, but no, he will have been too busy driving.

"It's tea for geriatrics!"

Colin says that all top models have champagne, but Mathew, who has just come in, advises, “It’s tea for geriatrics!” Then he asks Garry if he is required to go to Swansea.

"You're still using Mathew!"

Taking Garry aside, Dani rebukes him for still using Mathew. Garry explains he has had no chance to tell him; “Well, find one!” growls Dani.

"Was it Iolo?"

Gwyneth continues, “Who put these ideas into your head? Was it Iolo?” Siôn answers that it is nothing to do with Iolo, and that a marriage cannot be built on deception.

"If you had been honest from the start"

If she had been honest with him from the start, they might have been able to make it work. “We can still do that,”

"You've been like a father to Gwern!"

she wails, “You’ve been like a father to Gwern – the father I always wanted for him!”

Shaking his head, he tells her, “Don’t use Gwern to get your own way – it’s over! Off you go!”

"I own half this house!"

Gwyneth looks determined as she tells him she is going nowhere; “I own half this house – you can’t kick me out!”

"Where's the model, then?"

Jason has managed to persuade Sara to stay at home while the photo shoot goes on at Awyr Iach, and asks DJ where is the model.

Colin is having trouble doing up his shorts

At that moment, Colin walks in, trying to do up his shorts. “What? Not Colin?” Jason exclaims. and DJ points out that he is the only one who turned up.

"I hope that's not the only reason"

Colin is affronted to think that it she only reason he got the job.

"I bet Sara will be thrilled!"

DJ is adamant that Sara does not need to know, insisting that said he would deliver a high quality campaign, and he will. Jason says, “I bet Sara will be thrilled with the new face of Awyr Iach!”

"You were my meal ticket from the start"

In a rare display of honesty, Gwyneth admits, “You were my meal ticket from the start – it was the way to get what I wanted from the relationship, but you were too pathetic to see it!”

"I thought I could change you"

Siôn maintains that he could see it, but thought he could change her.

"Did you really think I could fall in love with someone like you?"

“Oh, the Christian saving the sinner, is it” she scoffs, “Did you really think I could fall in love with someone like you – dull and full of self-pity? You make me sick! At least I am being honest – you will always be a hypocrite!”

Siôn orders her out of the house, but she retaliates, “I’m not going anywhere – throw all the tantrums you like, you’re not going to get rid of me!

"Look, I've got it on paper!"

“I have deeds to say that I can stay here!” and she waves the document in front of him.

He seizes it and tears it up, snarling, “That’s what I think of it – and you too!” Gwyneth gloats that he can rip up the paper, but cannot change the law,

"Think I care about the law?"

but he warns her, “Think I care about the law, after everything I’ve done?”

"Dani doesn't like me poaching her staff"

Garry explains to Mathew that Dani is not happy that he is poaching her staff, so he had better put a stop to the driving for a while, which Mathew regrets, as he liked the cash in hand.

"You can get back into her good books"

He advises Garry that the way back into Dani’s good books is by spoiling her and buying her gifts.

"I know how to spoil my wife!"

“I know how to spoil my wife!” Garry replies.

"Where are all the leeks and daffodils?"

Jason and Sara arrive, and Jason demands where are all the leeks and daffodils; Garry grumbles that it is not a theme park, but Jason reminds him, “You celebrate every other patron Saint – what about Wales?” Garry finds a paper flag with a red dragon for him..

"I'll call at Awyr Iach on my way home"

Sara tells Jason that she will call at Awyr Iach later, to see how DJ is getting on.

Cadno and Eifion come in . . .

Then Cadno and Eifion, with the boys, arrive, reporting that Eileen is unable to look after them as planned,

. . . and Jason volunteers

so Jason volunteers his baby-sitting skills. Sara is less than pleased, but he reminds her it will be good practice.

"I know all your dirty little secrets!"

Gwyneth is still going on, “I’m not scared of you – I know all your dirty little secrets – and those of your children!”

"Don't drag the boys into this"

Siôn does not want them dragged into this, but she enumerates, “One’s a rapist, one’s a liar, and tho other joined a crazy cult! You didn’t do such a good job there, did you? What would your darling, perfect wife, Gwen say?”

Siôn points out that Gwen was worth a thousand of her; “I don’t know how I even considered getting married to you!”

"How could you marry a lowlife like me?"

Gwyneth taunts him, “How could you marry a lowlife like me, when you’ve been married to perfection?” She picks up the picture from the floor;

"There she is – your perfect wife"

“Ah – there she is – your perfect wife, all in pieces, just like your life!”

"I should have thrown you out months ago!"

Siôn agrees that Gwen was perfect; “Unlike you! I should have thrown you out months ago!” Gwyneth alleges that he did not have the guts.

"Y Felin will never be your home!"

“Y Felin will never be your home!” Siôn snarls,

Siôn resists the temptation to throttle her

“You’d better go now, before I do something I regret!”

"I'm sorry, Dani"

Garry produces a box and gives it to Dani; “I’m sorry – I had intended telling Mathew, but didn’t have the chance. Are you going to open it?”

"I'm too busy!"

Dani replies that she is too busy.

Gwyneth arrives and orders a brandy;

"How is Gwern?"

Garry asks her how Gwern is, and she demands,

"How do you think he is?"

“How do you think he is?” When she walks away from the bar,

"Are you buying Gwyneth a gift as well?"

Dani asks if he will also be buying Gwyneth a gift to say sorry.

"Sara's a control freak!"

As they eat their meal, Cadno comments that Sara did not seem to keen to have the boys. Eifion calls Sara a control freak, adding, “That will change when they have the baby!”

"Can we stay at Penrhewl tonight?"

Gwyneth approaches and asks if she and Gwern can stay at Penrhewl tonight;

"No, you can't!

Eifion says no,

"They're just getting over Jason being there"

and Cadno is more diplomatic, explaining that the boys are only just getting over Jason being there. “Thanks for nothing!” says Gwyneth,

"I don't want my child near fools with guns!"

“I don’t want my child near fools with guns, anyway!”

"Trouble always follows her!"

Eifion laughs as she walks away; “Trouble always follows her!” Cadno considers that could be said about her too, as she was jilted at the altar, but Eifion points out, “That was different – DJ knew we should be together.

"We've both snogged Gwyneth . . ."

“Anyway, we’ve both snogged Gwyneth –

". . . I don't think she'd be safe at Penrhewl!"

“I don’t think she’d be safe at Penrhewl!”

As always, Colin goes over the top

The photographer is not happy with Colin’s exaggerated poses, and DJ advises that this is not an advert for aftershave.

"I need makeup to hide the wrinkles"

Colin thinks that he should have makeup to hide his wrinkles,

"We want a natural look"

but DJ insists that he wants a natural look, as if he were going to walk up a mountain, or something.

"How about a dog?"

Then Colin suggests that he should be accompanied by a dog, possible a labrador.

Sara asks if everything is OK

DJ receives a text from Sara, enquiring if everything is OK.

Bobi and Arthur are not tidy enough for her liking

Sara is out of her depth, with the boys playing boisterously; “This place is like a toyshop!” she moans to Jason,

"Leave them alone – they're happy!"

who tells her to leave them alone, as they are happy. “Our Bumps won’t be this wild!” she decides.

"You're hopeless, Sara!"

“They’re farm children! You’re hopeless!” sighs Jason.

"Right, in that case, I'm going!"

She makes up her mind to go to Awyr Iach, to escape from Bobi and Arthur.

"Was that something to do with you?"

In the Deri, Dani deduces that Mathew had something to do with her gift from Garry,

"Want to come clubbing tonight?"

and he suggests that she should come clubbing tonight with him and Vicky.

"I can't – I have a pub to run"

Dani replies that she has to run the pub,

"I'm going to get Gwern"

but then Garry comes downstairs, advising her he has to collect Gwern and then is taking him to the dentist.

"Right, which club first?"

Fed up, Dani asks Mathew, “Right, which club do we go to first?”

"Right – that's it, Colin"

Colin looks tired of the whole modelling idea, but then DJ shouts that his pose is exactly right; unfortunately,

"Colin – the face of Awyr Iach?"

Sara chooses that moment to come in and interrupt things. “Colin – the face of Awyr Iach?” she squeals,

"We don't want this fool!"

“We want someone sophisticated – not this fool! You’ll have to find someone else!”

"Look, this shoot is my responsibility"

DJ points out that the budget is spent, and that this shoot is his responsibility, and she stalks off.

"'You're my best friend,' said Dewi the dog"

Jason reaches the end of the story he is reading to Bobi and Arthur; “‘You’re my best friend,’ said Dewi the dog, and from that day onwards, they played in the park together every day
