3 March 2017

"I'm all right, Mam!"
Ricky has recovered from the effects of the drug, but Mark and Debbie are still fussing over him.   He tells them he does not remember what happened.
"What was Colin thinking?"
“What was Colin thinking – letting Chester have a party?” rages Mark;
"Chester was not involved!"
Ricky tells him that Chester was not involved, his drink was spiked, but that he is feeling all right now.
“You were in a terrible state last night!” Mark continues, I’m not going to do nothing – someone drugged Ricky last night, and I’m not going to let them get away with it!”   He goes out.
"She was very quiet when she came home"
At Bryntirion, Diane is anxious about Hannah;  “She was very quiet when she came home last night, and went straight to bed.”
"Now we can have a chat, just the two of us"
Dai has made tea, and brings some of Diane’s favourite biscuits – the caramel and chocolate ones, wanting them to have a chat,
"Do you think she's homesick?"
but she is too preoccupied with Hannah.   “Do you think she’s homesick?”
"I'm going out"
Then Hannah comes downstairs, but does not want any breakfast and is going out.   Diane does not like her wandering off,
"She's not a schoolgirl any more"
but Dai points out, “She’s not a schoolgirl any more.
"You're just like a broody hen!"
You’re just like a broody hen!”
Diane responds, “If that’s what you think of me, I should have stayed in Australia!” and storms upstairs.
Dai, I'm surprised at you!   What a waste of good biscuits!
Dai is exasperated and dumps the biscuits in the bin, then sends a text from his phone.
Sheryl is going to the salon
Sheryl has resolved to go to work at the salon, and has her hair encased in a different scarf.   “I can’t hide here for ever – this could go on for a while!” she tells Hywel,
"I have to be strong for Esther"
“I have to be strong for Esther.”   Hywel will phone her later
"Everything will be all right!"
and assures her that everything will be all right, but she is not so sure.
Dai needs to talk to Kath
At Maes-y-Deri, Kath receives the text from Dai, asking, “Do you have five minutes?”
Debbie is worried about all these drugs
Debbie tells her that Ricky is sound asleep, and worries about the fact that drugs are everywhere these days.   Kath adds that it is not just young people that are involved.
"He opens his mouth before putting his brain in gear!"
Debbie says, “Let’s hope that Mark has not made it worse!   He opens his mouth before putting his brain in gear!”   Kath points out that it runs in the family,
Kath looks forward to seeing Dai
then sends a reply to Dai, that she will see him in the café in half an hour.
"What are you going to do about the drugs in Ysgol y Mynach?"
Meanwhile, Mark sees Gaynor in the street and accosts her;  “What are you going to do about the drugs in Ysgol y Mynach?   Ricky almost died last night – someone spiked his drink!”
"What does that have to do with me?"
Gaynor asks what that has to do with her, and is told, “It was kids from Ysgol y Mynach in someone’s house – they’re your pupils!”
"There's no drug problem at school"
Gaynor states that she is not aware of any drug problem at the school, and that they have a very strict policy, so she considers this has nothing to do with the school.
"I'm going to the papers!"
“I’m warning you – if you don’t do something about it, I’m going to the papers!” roars Mark.
"She's being really nice to me!"
Dani bursts into the salon, shrieking, “I can’t cope with this any more!   Garry’s disappeared – Gwyneth’s landed in the flat like a cuckoo – and to make it worse, she’s being really nice to me!   She’s so two-faced!”
"One o'clock this afternoon?"
Anita comes in to see if there is an appointment this afternoon, and is told she can be accommodated at 1:00pm.   When she has gone,
"You look really cute!"
Dani looks at the scarf and remarks, “You look really cute!”
"Sheryl doesn't look well at all"
Anita meets Diane at the café, and relates that Sheryl does not look well at all – and is wearing a scarf on her head.   Diane assumes that she has not done her roots.
“How are things going with you?” Anita asks, “I know things were not so good between you and Dai before you went away, and you needed a break – but was that the only reason you went away?
"Did anyone go with you?"
Did anyone go with you – to keep you company?”
"Do you think I'm having an affair?"
Diane is shocked;  “Do you think I’m having an affair?   That was the last thing on my mind.   Is that what people are saying?”   Anita replies that it they could not understand why she went without a word, but Diane insists, “It all got too much, that’s all – anyway, I’m fine now – as good as new!”
Chester has a favour to ask
Chester comes into the salon and explains to Dani
"Garry doesn't believe me"
that Garry does not believe that he had nothing to do with Ricky’s unfortunate incident, so he wants her to have a word with Garry on his behalf.   “I don’t have any influence over Garry,
"Then talk to him!"
she tells him, “If he doesn’t believe you, then talk to him!”   He turns and leaves,
"I don't believe a word he says!"
and Dani comments to Sheryl, “I don’t believe a word that comes out of his mouth!”   Then she sees a hair on Sheryl’s shoulder, and reaches out to remove it.
"No – don't touch my hair!"
Sheryl recoils in horror;  “No – don’t touch my hair!” she squeals, much to Dani’s amazement.
"Everyone stares at me!"
“Why are you staring at me?   Everyone stares at me – I can’t do this – it’s too hard!”
Dani is bewildered
Dani does not understand what is going on,
"My hairs falling out!"
until Sheryl explains, “I’ve got alopecia – my hair’s falling out!”
She explains to Dani
Over a cup of tea, Dani asks if stress causes it, as she has been stressed enough lately, and Sheryl points out that it is connected to the immune system, and is less than ideal for someone running a salon.
"Ten ways with a scarf"
Dani finds a magazine article, ‘Ten ways with a scarf,’ then adds, “Ignore me – I’m just being stupid!”   Sheryl reassures her that she is simply being honest.
"If you want to cry, or scream . . ."
“If you want to cry or scream or something, I’m here for you,” Dani says.
Kath is waiting in the café for Dai, when she is concerned to see Diane,
"Dai is still sulking"
who asks if she has seen Hannah.   “Dai is still sulking about this Australia business,” frets Diane,
"He doesn't think I've found someone else, does he?"
“He hasn’t mentioned why he thinks I went away, has he?   He doesn’t think I’ve found someone else, does he?
"He's afraid he doesn't mean so much to you any more"
Kath answers that the only thing he said is that he fears he does not mean so much to her any more.   “Listen, Diane, it’s about time you two talked to each other!”
Dai feels rather unsettled
At that moment Dai comes in, and is dismayed to see them together.
"Fancy a meal in Cwm Delhi?"
Diane suggests, “Do you fancy going to Cwm Delhi, just the two of us, for lunch?   I’ll see you there in half an hour.”
"Didn't tell her anything, did you?"
Kath tells Dai that she did not say a word, and urges him to go and talk to Diane.
"What happened to Ricky last night?"
By the shop, Gaynor sees Chester and asks, “What happened to Ricky last night?   I heard that you were with him.”
Gaynor looks disbelieving
He replies that they were at the same party, nothing more.
"That's unfair!"
When she has gone, Hannah comes over and says that it is unfair that Chester is being blamed for this.
"Mark will never let me see Ricky!"
When he tells her that Mark will not let him see Ricky, she suggests, “I’ll come with you,” and they go together.
Mark brings the news to Bryntirion
As Diane prepares for her lunch date, Mark rushes in and tells her about Ricky’s spiked drink;  “Your granddaughter is over from Australia, isn’t she?
"They can get hold of all kinds of drugs over there!"
They can get hold of all kinds of drugs over there!”
Diane does not like what he is insinuating
Diane demands what right he has to make accusations like that.
"Chester Monk, just out of prison"
When Diane realises that Hannah was at Chester Monk’s house, that he is just out of prison, and Mark assumes he has lots of drugs,
"Hannah is at risk!"
she realises that Hannah is also at risk.
Debbie monitors the visitors
Chester and Hannah arrive at Maes-y-Deri, where Ricky assures his mother that he is well enough for visitors.
"They make such a fuss!"
“I’ve never felt so ill,” he tells them, “But don’t tell Mam and Dad – they make such a fuss!”   When Chester apologises, Ricky stresses it was his own fault as he took the drugs.
"That Tom is a right prat!"
“Whatever they were, that Tom is a right prat!” is Hannah’s verdict,
"Oh no!   She knows about it!"
and Chester discloses that Mrs Llywelyn knows about it.
"I don't want to grass on Tom"
Chester will not take the blame, but he does not want to grass on his friend Tom either.
"Why don't we blame gatecrashers?"
Hannah comes up with a plan;  “Why not say people you didn’t know – gatecrashers – turned up, as they’d seen it on CnocCnoc.”   It is thought that this might work, so they will maintain they did not know who brought the drugs.
"OK, Diane, I'm on my way"
Then her phone rings, and Diane summons her home;  “Diane’s found out as well,” she tells them,
"See you, Rick!"
“I’d better go – see you, Rick!”
Chester teases, “Rick, is it?”
"I don't want to interfere"
Anita has had her hair done at the salon, and asks if Sheryl is all right, as she is very quiet today.   “I couldn’t help noticing the scarf – I don’t want to interfere . . .”
Dani interrupts, “Well, don’t interfere!   If she wants to wear it, she can!”
“I just thought, if you’re ill or something . . .” continues Anita,
"People come to have their hair styled – not to think!"
but this time Dani forcibly informs her that people come to the salon to have their hair styled – not to think!
"Get out of here, Chester!"
Mark arrives home to find Chester there, and furiously orders, “Get out, and if you come here again. I’ll call the cops!”   He will not listen to Ricky,
"Don't try to defend him!"
and reminds him, “He spiked your drink!   Or have you forgotten?   Don’t try to defend Chester!”
“I knew you’d react like this,” sighs Ricky,
Ricky confesses
“I took the tablets!   I’ll never do it again – it was terrible!   The problem is that someone has told Mrs Llywelyn!”
He realises Mark has been spreading the story
Realising that his father was responsible for this,
"You've made it worse for me now!"
Ricky continues, “Thanks, Dad, you’ve made it worse for me now!”
"Can I have another five minutes?"
Dai has been waiting for some time at Cwm Delhi, then Diane appears, but accompanied by Hannah;
Diane, again with Hannah in tow
Diane explains about the party, and Ricky.
"This was supposed to be a meal for two"
Dai grumbles, “This was supposed to be a meal for two – we can’t talk with her here.”   He is accused of being selfish, so he demands, “It’s selfish to want to have a chat with my wife, is it?”
"Uncle Dai is right!"
“Yes, he’s right – you’re being unfair on him!   I’m going home!” Hannah tells them.
"Look, Diane, I'm seriously worried"
Dai tells Diane that he is seriously worried about their marriage;
"It's Hannah, Hannah, Hannah!"
“Every time I try to get through to you, it’s Hannah, Hannah, Hannah!
Diane does not like what she hears
It’s convenient for you to use her as an excuse not to talk to me – but there we are – perhaps there is no point in talking!
"Perhaps our relationship has no future!"
Perhaps our relationship has no future!”   He gets up and puts on his cap,
"If you can't see what the problem is . . ."
“If you can’t see what the problem is, there’s no point in me explaining, is there?”   He walks out of Cwm Delhi.
