Cadno goes through Eifion's overalls
Cadno is looking through the pockets of Eifion’s overalls when she finds a bracelet;
"Where did you get this?"
when he comes in she asks him about it.   “It was Courtney’s” he replies
"I found it when I was clearing the house"
“I found it while I was clearing the house, and have had it for  while.”
He is given the third degree by Cadno
Cadno fires questions at him;  “Why didn’t you tell me?   Why did you keep it?   Does Jim know?”   Eifion replies that he does not have anything else of hers, and she goes on, “You shouldn’t keep it – it might mean a lot to Jim!”
"It means a lot to me!"
He points out that it means a lot to him, and walks out.
"Is there a hunky barman working here?"
Vicky comes into the Deri, saying “I’ve heard there’s a hunky barman working here, and I’ve come to check him out.”   Mathew tells her that he has not seen one.
"You're like a lovesick puppy!"
Dani objects to the grin on Vicky’s face, which she says is like a lovesick puppy.
"We're on a platter"
“He’s lovely, but we’ve not moved on much,” grumbles Vicky, “We’re on a platter!”
"I think you mean plateau"
Dani advises her that she means ‘plateau’, and recommends that she organise something, like asking him on a date, so Vicky asks him if he is doing anything tonight, and would he like to come to Maes-y-Deri  for a meal.
"What – like meeting the family?"
He interprets this as ‘meeting the family’,
"No, they're all out tonight"
but she explains that the others will all be out tonight, so he is keen to be there.
"This Penrhewl tomato chutney is selling well"
Eileen collects vegetables from Penrhewl,
"I haven't seen Courtney wearing that"
and is told by Cadno about the bracelet, which Eileen does not recognise as being one of Courtney’s.
"Are you staring to doubt Eifion?"
“Are you starting to doubt him,” she asks Cadno, who points out that it would not be the first time.
"Could you show it to Jim?"
Eileen is not keen, when asked to take it and show it to Jim, as it might upset him, and she does not want to set him back.
"All right, I will take it"
Cadno’s insistence eventually changes Eileen’s mind.
"I can't cook to save my life!"
Vicky complains to Dani that she cannot cook to save her life, and looks on her phone for a suitable basic recipe,
"Well, give him fish and chips!"
but Dani advises her to give Mathew fish and chips from the chippy.   However, this is not special enough for Vicky.
"Anita is the cookery expert"
Anita is sitting nearby, so Dani sends Vicky to her for ideas for her meal.
"I need a meal that's easy and impressive"
She tells Anita, “I don’t know why I need a meal which is easy and impressive.”
"How about Coq au Vin?"
She recommends Prawn Risotto or Coq au Vin.
"You could show me how to cook it"
“It might be easier if you showed me how to cook it,” suggests Vicky, “I managed to burn a ready meal once – you enjoy cooking, don’t you?”
"You're a lifesaver, Anita!"
Anita agrees to help her out and receives a big hug.
"Elliw gave that to Courtney"
Eileen arrives back with the vegetables and shows Jim the bracelet, which he recognises immediately.   “Elliw gave that to Courtney,” he says, and when Eileen asks what he wants to do with it, replies, “I have no idea.”
"I'm not supposed to be doing the job myself!"
At Maes-y-Deri, Anita has worked her culinary magic, but complains to Vicky, “I thought I was here to show you how to cook it, not to do the job myself!”
"Will you babysit Nicky for me?"
Not content with this favour, Vicky then asks whether Anita will babysit Nicky for a couple of hours, assuring her that Nicky likes everyone.
"You owe me a big favour!"
Anita is naïve enough to agree to this.
The stereotypical leprechaun
In the Deri, the bunting is once again going up, and Mathew points out that they have all the Irish racial stereotypes, as Dani holds up a cartoon leprechaun, and insists they will have to dress up next Friday.   He draws attention to the fact that she has put potatoes on the bar,
"The Irish like potatoes!"
but she reminds him, “The Irish like potatoes!”
When he suggests that they also like Riverdance, this appears to give Dani an idea.
"Right, I'm off now"
He is keen to leave for his date, but Dani instructs him that he should go home and change;
"Not dressed like that, you're not!"
“You must make an effort – and take her a present,” she says.   He thinks a present for Nicky might be a nice touch, as he has not seen much of him, despite going out with Vicky for some time.
"Would you like to be a step-dad one day?"
“Would you like to be a step-dad one day?” Dani asks, and he concludes they had better wait to see how this date goes first.
Organic Penrhewl vegetables
Cadno is chopping vegetables when Eifion asks where the bracelet is;  she reports that she gave it to Jim.   He demands, “Why did you do that without telling me?”
"I think you're lying"
Cadno answers that Eileen could not remember Courtney wearing it, so she suspects that he is telling lies as to the  bracelet’s source.
"There is no other woman!"
“There is no other woman!” insists Eifion, but she comments that it would not be the first time.   “That bracelet meant a lot to me – it’s the only thing that had belonged to Courtney, and you had no right!
"You know how close I was to her"
“You know how close I was to her – you should mind your own business!”
"That dress is lovely, Vicky!"
When Mathew arrives at Maes-y-Deri with his bottle, he admires Vicky’s dress,
"And here's something for Nicky"
and has a packet of sweets for Nicky, but finds he is being looked after by Anita.   The meal impresses him;  “You didn’t have to go to all this trouble for me,” he tells her,
"Just something I threw together"
but she assures him that she simply threw together a few ingredients
Mathew seems to like the look of it
and hoped for the best.
The bracelet is given back to Eifion
Jim visits Penrhewl and hands back the bracelet to Eifion;
"Courtney would like to think you had something"
“I want you to keep it, as it’s only right.   Courtney would like to think you had something – I should have offered it to you at the time.”
They both miss her very much
Eifion confirms that he still misses her so much.
Just as the evening gets interesting . . .
After the meal, some kissing is going on when Vicky’s phone rings;
. . . it is disturbed by the telephone
it is Anita, advising that Nicky is ill, so Vicky has to go and collect him.   “He’s probably only missing his mother,” she says, and urges Mathew to stay until she returns.
"I'd better get out of your way"
He, however, seems eager to go, commenting that he will get out of her way, so she can deal with Nicky.
Watching television
As they watch television,
"I took it back to Eifion"
Jim tells Eileen that he went to Penrhewl and took back the bracelet to Eifion;  “I’ve got other things to remember Courtney!” he says,
"I'm proud of you"
and Eileen is proud of him.
In the Deri, Dani is surprised to see ‘Casanova’ Mathew back so early;
"It's hard work, raising a child"
“Nicky was ill – it’s hard work, raising a child – it’s a lot to ask, being father to someone else’s child.
"Perhaps it's a bit too early"
“I’m 22, and perhaps it’s a bit too early – I adore Vicky, but it’s weird to think that Vicky’s a single mother.”
"Come on, let's have a drink"
Dani proposes that they should have a drink, to celebrate life.
"See, Jim did recognise it"
Eifion reports back to Cadno that Jim did in fact recognise the bracelet;  “If you don’t believe me, phone him and ask.”
Cadno has to apologise
She concedes that she should have been more sensitive, and he responds;  “Do you really think that I would have an affair?   When would I have the time?
"There's only one woman for me"
“There’s only one woman for me – and that’s you!”
Dani seems to be the worse for wear
Later, Dani is rather the worse for drink, having difficulty standing up, and puts on some dance music.   Mathew considers it is time he went home,
"One more for the road!"
but she insists, “One more shot before you go!”
"We're not getting any younger!"
She stands up, very unsteadily, and tells him, “We have to live for the moment – we’re not getting any longer!”
Mathew comments, “You look pretty good for your age!” and once again she reminds him that she is only a couple of years older than him.   “It’s hard to tell, with all that white hair!” he jokes, “Anyway, I’ll help you clear up.”
Mathew stops her falling in a heap
She giggles, then stumbles, so he catches her.
What might be construed as an amorous look
For a moment they look into each other’s eyes,  Mathew says, “I’d better go then.”
But Dani is left alone
