Dani and Gwyneth are shifting barrels in the cellar; Dani wonders, “If Ed didn’t push Sioned down the stairs, who did?”

Gwyneth says she is still not convinced that Ed did not do it. “It could be anyone with a grudge against her,” adds Dani,

| "She quarrelled with half the people in Cwmderi!" |
“Come on, Gwyn, she quarrelled with half the people in Cwmderi – including you, probably!”
Gwyneth is concerned that she might be a suspect, but Dani replies that someone might have had it in for Ed.

| "I can guess who you're talking about' |
Garry comes down and can guess who they are talking about. “I just saw Kelly, taking her photos to the pigs – she’s on a mission to prove he is innocent, and someone else attacked Sioned.” Dani ponders that the truth always comes out in the end.

| Gwyneth looks panic-stricken |
For some reason, Gwyneth seems eager to get out of there, and says she is going to the café; Garry appears rather suspicious.

Siôn sees Gwyneth in the street and wants to talk to her, but she hurries away to the café,

where Gwen tells her that Kelly will be there shortly. Then Anita comes in and asks for an Earl Grey; she sits with Mark, who comments, “You look the way I feel!”

Anita assumes he is still thinking about Non; he agrees that he has been trying to forget her,

| "Should I contact her just once?" |
but asks if he should contact her just once to make sure she is all right.

| "The cops are taking it seriously now" |
Kelly comes in and tells Gwyneth that she feels better now she has been to the cops, and that now they are taking the matter seriously. “They’re not quite so convinced now that Ed pushed her – especially after I told them he was terrified of her.”

| "Are they making further enquiries?" |
Gwyneth wants to know if they are making further enquiries into the attack, and when this is confirmed she looks concerned.

| "Non – it's Mark here" |
At Maes-y-Deri, Mark finds the piece of paper with Non’s number, and dials it;

| She is pleased to get the call |
Non is out walking when she receives the call. “Do you think we could meet?” enquires Mark.

Jason tells Kelly that all she can do now it wait and see; “I hope the DS pulls her finger out – and fast!” growls Kelly. Jason is about to leave the café when she adds, “Don’t think I’m interfering, but is everything all right between you and Sara? Did she tell you she came to see me yesterday?

“She’s afraid that something is going on between us – you know, that text I sent you?”
Jason looks at her blankly, and insists on knowing what the text said;

Kelly continues, “It thanked you for being there for me, and suggested I could buy you a drink – she’s reading too much into it – and she saw me giving you a cwtch. She seems really insecure – must be her hormones.”

“What is the matter with her?” Jason groans.

| The victim of the fire Gwyneth started |
Up in the Deri flat, Gwyneth looks at the photo of Brandon, but puts it back when she hears Garry coming upstairs;

she tells him, “I’ve made up my mind – I’m leaving Cwmderi – I need a break. I’m not sure where, although I’ve got a cousin in Glasgow. I need a break for a month or two after that wedding fiasco!”

| "You're not taking him away that long!" |
Garry informs her that she is not taking Gwern away for that long, but she replies that she is not planning to take him; “I’ll leave him here, if that’s all right with you – he’s been through enough already.

“I’m leaving as soon as I have collected him from rugby training – my mind’s made up, so there’s no point delaying!”

Jason arrives home and immediately asks Sara, “So you think there’s something going on between me and Kelly, do you? And you went through my phone!”

She answers, “I saw you cwtch her in the café!” He insists he was trying to comfort her when she was upset, but Sara ploughs on, “If you cwtch her, she’ll get the wrong idea – and who can blame her, with your track record?”

“Record? You’re like a broken record, going on and on!” Jason tells her, “I’m not going off with Kelly, right? Or Vicky, or anyone else!”

| Sara introduces a draconian rule |
“No, you’re not!” insists Sara, “Because from now on you’re going to stay away from every attractive young woman you see! I mean it, Jason, you have to listen or you’re going to risk our future as a family!”

His response is that she is losing the plot.

As Gwyneth packs her bags, Garry asks if she is in trouble, as he can provide any necessary alibi; she is adamant that she is leaving because she has had a hard time, nothing more.

Mark walks to a park, where Non is waiting in her car; he tells her that he simply wanted to check she was all right.

“I’m sorry if I gave you the wrong impression,” he says, “I told you how fragile Mam is, and I can’t take the risk of her finding out. If she were not around the place, I’d love to get to know you – but she is.”

Non concludes that they both have to miss out; Mark sighs, “I like you, but I’m in an impossible situation here!”

Then he sees her drink of hot chocolate, which reminds him, “You’re exactly like Dad – obsessed with hot chocolate.”

When Dani walks into the Deri flat she is told by Gwyneth, “You can put the flags out – I’m leaving, but Gwern is staying until I get back. I’m not sure when that will be, or where I’m going, but I know I need a break.”

Dani exclaims, “Yes, I feel like a break sometimes, but I don’t pack my bag and dump all my responsibilities! It would have been nice if someone asked me first – how long are we talking about?”
Gwyneth tells her it will be a month or two, as Garry walks in

and remarks, “That won’t be a problem, will it, Dani?”

In the car, Mark talks about Stacey in London, and Non thinks she is not cool enough for London.

As Ricky will soon be coming home from school, Mark has to leave, and as Non has said she would like to put flowers on their Dad’s grave,

he agrees to go with her next Wednesday, when he has a day off.

| Garry denigrates his wife |
Garry demands why Dani is grumbling about looking after Gwern; “I wouldn’t grumble if I weren’t slaving away here on my own, as well as in the salon!” she snarls. He points out that Gwern will miss his mother terribly, and that Dani is being selfish.

“I’m selfish?” she roars, “How about you? Waltzing off to Greece or Poland – or wherever you were!” He insists that he has been trying to keep everyone happy; “Everyone except me!” she shouts.

Gwyneth arrives back with Gwern,

who pleads, “I don’t want you to go!” His mother assures him that she will Skype him every day.

Dani is adamant that they will have lots of fun; there and then they begin a game of Jenga.

At number 9, Jason maintains that they have to sort things out;

“We already have, as long as you stick to the rules!” Sara informs him. He replies that she cannot seriously expect him to keep away from every young woman, and regards this as a bit unreasonable.

“It feels like you’re trying to control me – like Sioned was doing to Ed!” he protests, then there is a knock on the door,

and Gwyneth asks if they want to stay in the house as she is going away.

Sara objects to her continually changing her mind,

but Jason answers that they will be very happy to stay,

and Gwyneth tells then to forget she ever gave them notice to quit.

When Mark arrives home, he phones Stacey; “I’ve just been talking about you. I hope you’re sitting down, because I’ve got some news for you.”
