"Esther has an appointment today"
Sheryl reminds Hywel that Esther has an appointment today,
"This is the first time you've gone out in the wig"
and he remarks that it will be the first time Sheryl has gone out wearing the wig.
"There may be some stupid remarks"
“The girls at the support group warned me that there may be some stupid remarks,” she tells him.   He insists that as he needs some batteries from the shop, he will come with her,
"I don't need you to come"
about which she is not keen.
Sara cannot find one she likes
Sara is finding the search for a house is driving her up the wall; she has not liked anything she has seen so far.
"Can you drive me this afternoon?"
“I’m tired – can you drive me to the support group meeting this afternoon?” she asks,
"I have a delivery to make in Cwrtmynach"
but Jason has forgotten about it, and has a delivery to make in Cwrtmynach.   Sara is offended and goes off grumbling.
"I've been like a servant to you"
Colin admonishes Chester, “These plates won’t carry themselves to the sink!   I’ve been like a servant to you these last few days –
Straight talking from Colin
“right, a session of straight talking!   You’ve been acting like ‘The Hulk’, and Catrin was almost in tears, the way you spoke to her – is there anything you want to say?”
"Just leave me alone"
Chester simply wants Colin to leave him alone, but is told that in that case,
"I shall have to tell your mother!"
Colin will have to report to his mother, so he becomes more forthcoming;
"I've messed up with a girl"
“I’ve messed up with a girl!”   Colin is immediately suspicious that she may be pregnant, but Chester continues, “No – I lied to her, trying to impress her, but it backfired.”
"Just keep apologising"
Colin’s advice is that he needs to admit that it is his fault, and keep apologising, as women like that.
"Pull your finger out and start fighting!"
“You want her to be your girlfriend, don’t you?” he enquires, “So pull your finger out and start fighting – not skulking round the place like a . . . squirrel!”
"A squirrel?"
Chester walks out in disgust.
Mathew has a surprise for Vicky
Mathew tells Vicky that he has a surprise for her;  “Remember we were talking about your wishlist?   Well, we’re going to Smokey Joes’s pop-up in Carmarthen tonight!”
"Oh – I have no babysitter!"
Vicky replies that she cannot, as she has no babysitter – Mark is out, and Kath is going to bingo.
"Oh, thanks, Nicky!"
“Oh, thanks, Nicky!” groans Mathew, but Vicky takes exception to him taking it out on her son.
Hywel does not like Colin's attitude
Hywel and Sheryl come into the shop, and she elicits a wolf-whistle from Colin.
"I'd love a wig to cover my bald patch!"
“Which film did I see that hair in – was it Pulp Fiction?” he asks, “Is it a wig – I thought you’d cut your hair – I’d love a wig to cover my bald patch!”
"Keep quiet, Hywel!"
Hywel is becoming increasingly angry.
Sara sees Jason chatting to Vicky
When Sara walks into the Deri, she sees Jason chatting with Vicky, so turns round and walks out again;  Jason is telling Vicky that in Australia they drink something called Goom. [methylated spirits used as an alcoholic drink by derelicts]
"You and Mathew are a bit moody"
Dani summons Vicky for a word;  “You and Mathew are a bit moody,” so she is told about the comment Mathew made about Nicky because they could not go out tonight.
"You're in the doghouse!"
Dani then informs Mathew, “You’re in the doghouse – and it’s bad for my business.   Buy her flowers, OK, not carnations, but something classy!”
"I want to go to the cinema with you!"
Chester goes to see Hannah;  “I don’t want to go to the cinema with Ricky – I want to go with you,” he tells her, “What do you say?   I’ve said sorry a hundred times!”
"I'll hang out with you"
Hannah acquiesces, “All right – I don’t want to go to the cinema, but I’ll hang out with you.
"I'm going back to Australia next week"
Don’t think it’s a date, because I’m going back to Australia next week.”   This causes Chester to look very upset,
"Not going to cry, are you?"
and she adds, “You’re not going to cry, are you?”
He decides that he is going to bunk off school, and Hannah instructs, “Come on, then, let’s go for a walk!”
Sara is not very communicative
Jason returns home after the delivery to Cwrtmynach and finds that Sara is very abrupt;
"Did you go anywhere else?"
she asks, “Did you go anywhere else?”   He maintains that he came straight back,
"I found a possible house to rent"
and adds that Euros Pendre’s new girlfriend has a house to rent, so they might as well have a look.
"What were you doing in the Deri?"
Sara demands, “What were you doing in the Deri?   I saw you there – funny you didn’t mention it.”
"Does it matter?"
He replies that he went there for lunch and cannot see that it matters.   “I went to the Deri, too, but I lost my appetite!” she moans.
"You have to eat properly, Sara"
Jason suggests that they go to the Deri now for a meal, as she needs to eat properly, but she insists that she has things to do.   He is adamant, “They can wait, because I want to spend time with my wife – if that’s all right with you?”
Hywel takes issue with Colin about his remarks to Sheryl;
"You need to use a bit of this!"
“You need to use a bit of this before opening your mouth!” he complains, “All you did in the shop was go on about Sheryl’s hair!
Colin is being told off
“I want you to keep away from her!”
Mathew wants the flowers
Mathew comes along, wanting flowers for Vicky, but Colin snatches them from him, saying,
"No – past their sell-by date!"
“You can’t have them – they’re not fresh – past their sell-by date – you’ll have to buy a box of Milk Tray or some fruit jellies – there’s plenty of choice inside.”
Colin takes the peace offering to Sheryl
Shortly afterwards, Colin takes the flowers and a bottle to Sheryl, who thinks she has won a raffle or something.
"Hywel was right – I should have stopped to think"
He explains, “It’s something to say sorry for the way I spoke earlier about the wig – I shouldn’t have drawn attention to it – and I don’t want to upset you.   Hywel was right – I should have stopped to think before I opened my mouth.”
Sheryl does not like Hywel's interfering
Sheryl is outraged that Hywel has been reprimanding Colin, who acknowledges, “He was right, pointing out a few things about my behaviour.”   Sheryl tells him that she is not ill, but just losing her hair;
"Join the club!"
“Join the club!” says Colin, and they both dissolve into laughter
Chester moans about Colin
As they are walking in the park, Chester tells Hannah, “I have to live with Colin – in the shop he may be fine, but he’s a freak, using weird words and stuff.”
"I think now is when we're supposed to kiss"
They stop, Hannah looks at him and comments, “I think now is when we are supposed to kiss.”
Making the most of their time
They do so, and she adds, “We should make the most of the time I’ve got here, don’t you think?”   Chester definitely now looks more cheerful.
"Oh, it was all right"
In the Deri, after Vicky has taken their order, Jason enquires how Sara’s group meeting went, but she is very non-committal.
"I was gutted we couldn't go out"
Mathew apologises to Vicky and explains that he was gutted they could not go out together;
"Can I share these choccies with you?"
he asks if he can come over tonight, “To share a couple of these choccies with you?”   She agrees, confirms she is also gutted about tonight and kisses him.
"No hanky panky at work!"
Dani intervenes, “No hanky panky at work!” and when informed that they are not going out tonight,
Garry will not be happy about this arrangement
she continues, “Oh yes you are – I’m babysitting Nicky – and Garry will be behind the bar.   Now get back to work before I change my mind!   We girls should stick together.”
"I would have a good time wearing that!"
As they have a cup of tea, Sheryl describes one of the wigs as ‘pink candy floss’;  Colin comments, “Sounds as if I would have a good time wearing that!”
Hywel looks offended
Hywel comes in and appears shocked by Colin’s presence there;  “Do you like the flowers?” asks Sheryl, “Colin brought them over!”
"I think it's time I went"
Colin thinks that he should leave.
"I can take care of myself"
Hywel points out that he told Colin to stay away, but she protests, “I can take care of myself – I don’t want you to protect me, and make a huge deal out of nothing.
Colin smiles at the lovers
Colin arrives back in the chip shop flat and peers round the corner into the lounge where Chester and Hannah are rather preoccupied with each other.   “Blimey!” Colin exclaims, and Hannah makes a swift exit.
"Well, well!"
Then Colin goes on, “Well, well – the advice from Colin Lampeter,
"The Lurve Doctor"
“the ‘Lurve Doctor’, worked, did it?   You won’t go wrong with a bit of advice from Col!
"Hannah can come over any time"
“Hannah can come over any time she likes.”
"Sorry I overreacted"
Sheryl apologises to Hywel for overreacting, and he remarks, “I haven’t seen you looking that happy for ages –
"Why can't I make you smile like that?"
“why can’t I make you smile like that?”
"You worry too much"
She accuses him of worrying too much and admits that she does not enjoy dealing with people’s reactions about her hair,
"I'm tougher than you think"
but she adds, “I’m tougher than you think – what if I handle things day to day, and if I need to call in the heavies, I’ll come to you?
"Let's do something cwtchy tonight"
“Now can we do something cwtchy tonight, like watch a film or something?
"Is Vicky still on your mind?"
When they arrive home, Jason asks Sara, “What is going on?   Is Vicky still on your mind?   That’s what the way you behaved in the Deri suggests.
"I promise to be more organised"
“Look, sorry I forgot about the group meeting – I promise to be  more organised from now on, so can you forgive me for today?”
She grudgingly agrees, but does not look as if she means it.
"I know I'm useless!"
“I know I’m useless – it’s a start that I realise that – and I am going to pull my socks up before the baby arrives – honestly!”
