As Siôn puts on his tie, he looks across at the photo of Dr Gwen

and says, “I don’t have any choice, Gwen, I don’t want to be on my own.”

In the salon, Sheryl is just completing Gwyneth’s hair; Anita comments that Siôn will not be able to recognise her. “I hope he will – I don’t want him marrying someone else!” is the reply. Anita is pleased that it has worked out for them, and Gwyneth says, “It has been quite a journey!”

Sheryl places the tiara on Gwyneth’s head, which she says makes her feel like a queen;

Anita remembers, “It was the happiest day of my life when I married Meic – make sure you enjoy every minute!” Sheryl brings glasses of champagne, and they toast,

| Ed is further humiliated |
Ed has been sleeping on the sofa; “I don’t remember saying you could have a blanket!” Sioned scolds him,

| "Feeling sorry for yourself?" |
“Feeling sorry for yourself? You should have thought of that before pushing me!”
Ed mumbles that it was an accident, but she dismisses him with, “I don’t want to hear any more of that nonsense!

“You look terrible – you’d better wash and change before the wedding!”

| "Wedding?" |
He looks puzzled, so she goes on, “Siôn and Gwyneth’s – there won’t be many people there, so we should show some support – considering all that Gwyneth has been through!

| "You're pathetic – do you know that?" |
“You’re pathetic – do you know that? Get lost, will you?” He shuffles away.
Tyler argues with Iolo, “This is stupid – you know you want to go to the wedding!”

| "That's the last place I want to go!" |
Iolo maintains that it is the last place he wants to go..

| "Ed had to go to the police station!" |
Then Kelly arrives, ranting, “Sioned has accused Ed of domestic abuse, and he had to go to the police station!”

| "Well, they must have had some evidence" |
Tyler remarks that there must be some evidence, but Kelly demands,

| "She's playing games!" |
“Then why did she drop the charges? Because she’s playing games – you should have seen him – he’s a nervous wreck!”
Tyler replies that he has other things to think about,

| "Turn a blind eye like everyone else!" |
so she goes on, “Ed could go to prison for something he has not done! But there we are – turn a blind eye like everyone else!” and she storms out.

| "If you don't go, you'll regret it" |
Tyler resumes his persuasion of Iolo, “If you don’t go to your father’s wedding, you’ll regret it! Ask yourself one thing – if he wants to marry Gwyneth,

“who are you to stop him?”

| "No-one would have predicted that!" |
Hywel is rehearsing his speech, and remarks to Sheryl, “It’s weird how things turn out! Gwyneth and Siôn – no-one would have predicted that a few years ago.”

| "There are some more bald patches" |
Sheryl is preoccupied with the additional bald spots she has found, and insists that she cannot go to the wedding.

| "Tell them I'm ill!" |
She wants Hywel to say she is ill, but he points out that she was doing Gwyneth’s hair a few minutes ago;

| "Wear this hat – and no-one will know" |
“You said you were going to wear this hat – no-one will be any the wiser,” he urges.

| "I prefer the blue shirt" |
When Ed appears, Sioned instructs him, “I prefer you in the blue shirt – go and change!”

| "You're going to tell Gwyneth" |
He is scared that Sioned will tell Gwyneth that he attacked her, but Sioned replies, “What? On her wedding day?

| "It would be worth it to see their faces!" |
“Mind you, it would be worth it to see their faces! Imagine – you not only abuse your wife, but attacked the bride as well!” That would make it a day to remember for Siôn and Gwyneth.” Ed begs her to stop.

| "Get changed, before I go back to the police!" |
She snarls at him, “Stop whingeing! Go and get changed, before I change my mind and go back to the police!”

| Siôn does not look rapturously happy |
At the wedding venue, Siôn appears deep in thought; Sheryl moans about having to sit at the front,

| "Oh – another hair!" |
then discovers another hair on her shoulder.

| Siôn espies a familiar face |
Siôn hears footsteps and is relieved to see both Iolo and Tyler arriving.
Ed comes downstairs to the café, and asks Kelly if she has seen Sioned;

| "What's with the suit, Ed?" |
Kelly wants to know why he is wearing his suit. “Sioned wants to go to Siôn's and Gwyneth’s wedding,” he answers, and Kelly finds this rather strange.

| "Why are you wearing your suit?" |
Then Sioned returns and she demands why Ed is wearing the suit; when he explains what she said, she denies saying any such thing.

| "I didn't say anything!" |
“I didn’t say anything – you’d better get changed before people start talking!” she orders.

Then she orders a coffee from Kelly, who glares at her.

| Siôn is overjoyed to see Iolo there |
Siôn hugs Iolo and Hywel reliquishes his best man position,

handing over the rings to Iolo.

| "I'm so glad you came!" |
Siôn is very glad that he has come, and Iolo replies, “All that matters is that you’re happy.”

Gwyneth and Gwern make their entrance, everyone turns round,

| . . . and Siôn appears terror-stricken |
and Siôn looks decidedly scared.

The ceremony proceeds, with Iolo reading a poem;
“Let light breezes blow to revive from time to time;
May you never stumble as steep slopes you climb;
Upon this earth tread lightly, show respect, be friendly,
Come tempest or raging storm, rough seas or stormy weather,
There’ll be a shelter and a shield, if you support each other.”

During this, Siôn has been looking dubiously at Gwyneth;

then he says, “I can’t do this – I know you don’t love me!”

| "Don't be so stupid – of course I love you!" |
She furiously tells him not to be so stupid, and that of course she loves him.

| "You want stability" |
As the assembled guests look on, Siôn continues, “You want stability for yourself and Gwern – and I can understand that – but it’s not enough for me. I need someone who loves me as much as I love them!”

| "Siôn, you don't know what you're doing!" |
He walks toward the door, as she stresses that he does not know what he is doing;

| "I know exactly what I'm doing!" |
“I know exactly what I’m doing!” he answers, and leaves.

| Gwyneth is left looking rather stupid |
Gwyneth is left distraught and embarrassed.

| "No, don't come over – I'm on my way now!" |
In the café, Kelly is listening to Sioned, talking to her mother on the phone; “I’m fine, Mam – Ed has been fine with me today – no, don’t come over – I’m on my way now!”

| Kelly is ready for a quick dash upstairs |
As soon as she has gone, Kelly heards straight upstairs.

| "You're going to tell me what the hell is going on!" |
“You’re going to tell me what the hell is going on!” she shouts at Ed, but he is frightened that Sioned will come back.

| "Have you told the police about Sioned?" |
“Have you told the police about Sioned?” she demands,

| "I can't, Kelly!" |
and when he replies that he cannot,

| "Well, I shall tell everyone, then!" |
she continues, “Enough is enough! I’m going to tell everyone what she has been doing!”
Ed insists that this will only make matters worse, but she shrieks, “Worse? Come off it!”

| "If I try to stop Sioned . . ." |
He explains that if he tries to stop Sioned, she will tell everyone.

| "Tell them what?" |
“Tell them what?” asks Kelly, “You can trust me – just tell me what you’ve done, and I promise we will sort it out.”

| "I didn't mean to do it – it happened so fast!" |
“Nobody can sort it out!” he laments. Kelly is adamant that she is on his side and will defend him from whatever Sioned threatens. He tells her, “I didn’t mean to do it – it was an accident – it happened so fast, I didn’t know what to do!”

| "What are you doing here?" |
He gets no further, as Sioned returns and demands what Kelly is doing there; “I’ve got a right to talk to Ed – or are you keeping him prisoner as well?”

| "I'm the victim here!" |
Sioned points out that she is the victim here, but Kelly insists, “That’s not true, is it?”

| "Siôn's not thinking straight!" |
Gwyneth has gone home with Hywel and Sheryl, and is quite sure that Siôn is not thinking straight;

| "I'll go and have a word with him" |
she maintains that, if she goes to have a word with him, things will be put right.

| "i'd like to be a fly on the wall" |
Hywel confides to Sheryl, “I’d like to be a fly on the wall to listen to that conversation!”

Sheryl removes her hat,

| . . . and finds a handful of hair |
and is dismayed to find inside it a handful of hair, which she throws into the bin, and goes upstairs.

| "It was all a pack of lies!" |
Kelly confronts Sioned; “I believed you when you said what Ed was doing to you, but it was all a pack of lies! It’s a good job I’m no longer a reporter, because I fell for the story of a complete amateur! I actually felt sorry for you!”

| He has not the energy to intervene |
Sioned alleges that it was not a story, that Ed is clever, and makes everyone think he is innocent, when really he is nuts.

| "I know exactly what you're up to!" |
Kelly warns her to drop the victim act, as it has never suited her; she knows exactly what Sioned is up to.
“He’s told you everything, has he?” says Sioned, “Well, if you know everything, you might as well tell everyone!”

When Ed objects to this, she goes on, “See – Ed doesn’t want you to tell anyone, do you Ed? If you do, you’ll ruin Ed’s life!”

Ed will not heed Kelly’s protestation that she is only trying to help him, but is quite clear, “Sioned is telling the truth – I hit her!

“If you breathe a word, you’ll regret it! Go away, before things turn nasty!”

| "You did the right thing, Dad!" |
At number 7, Iolo is reassuring Siôn that he did the right thing; then there is a knock at the door. It is Gwyneth, who wants to speak to Siôn, but Iolo insists that she is not welcome.

Siôn overrules him, and she wails, “Gwern and I have nowhere to live – we’re homeless!”

| "If you were a nicer person, you might have more friends!" |
Iolo comments, “That’s not Dad’s fault – if you were a nicer person, you might have more friends!”

| "I want you out tomorrow morning!" |
Siôn agrees that she can stay at Y Felin tonight, and he will remain at number 7, but he wants her out in the morning.

| "You're still dancing to her tune!" |
After she has gone, Iolo is rather scathing; “What are you doing, letting her back into Y Felin? You’re still dancing to her tune – can’t you see that?”
“I know that it’s not a fairytale relationship – I’m not that stupid,” Siôn tells him, “But real life is not a fairy tale.” Iolo points out that he deserves better than Gwyneth. “What – after my lying and cheating? Who am I to judge anyone?” his father demands.

Iolo emphasises that there has to be love in a marriage; “I thought my love would be enough for us both,” muses Siôn, “But it wasn’t!
