| What is Debbie up to . . . |
Debbie surreptitiously places a bicycle, and the sign from outside the café,
| . . . placing items by the caravan? |
by Josh’s caravan;
| Mark knows what she is up to |
unfortunately for her, this is witnessed by Mark.
| Sioned reminds Garry of his 'obligations' |
In the Deri flat, Garry has just received a text from Sioned; “Can’t sleep, thinking about you.”
| Garry does not want any breakfast |
He does not want any breakfast.
| "I'll put those shelves up today" |
Mathew suggests that he will put up some shelves before the delivery arrives,
| "Garry was supposed to do that ages ago" |
and Dani comments that Garry was supposed to have put those shelves up ages ago. Garry snaps at Mathew that he is the manager, and to get on with it.
“You take years to do DIY jobs – how about the new mirror in the bathroom,” begins Dani,
| "I'll do the mirror as well" |
and Mathew promises to do that job as well. Garry angrily walks out.
| The morning after their night before |
At Anita’s house, Kelly is still in her night attire; “I felt horrible just now, waking up and you weren’t there!” she tells Morgan.
| "I don't normally sleep with blokes on the first date" |
They both enjoyed last night, but Kelly points out she does not normally sleep with blokes on the first date, then adds that technically it was the second date.
| "You must think I'm a right slapper!" |
“You must think I’m a real slapper!” she laughs.
“I shouldn’t get so close to a fellow protester –
| Moc enjoys his 'fringe benefit' |
“I’m here to do a job,” says Morgan, as he embraces her.
| "How much for a van-load of old batteries?" |
In the café, Josh is on the phone, asking how much someone will give him for a load of old batteries, and agrees on £50. Then he returns to his breakfast,
| "Got any old tractor batteries on the farm?" |
but turns round and asks Eifion if he has any old tractor batteries at the farm. “Don’t you dare come anywhere near Penrhewl!” Eifion warns him.
| Kelly arrives, looking pleased with herself |
Kelly comes in, apparently wearing a coat over her matching dressing gown, and hears Cadno remarking that they are going away to celebrate Eifion’s birthday, and if anything goes missing, they will know where to look.
Kelly orders two cappuccinos and two veggie baps, with eggs sunny side up;
| "It's the big 5-0, is it?" |
then she wishes Eifion happy birthday. “The big 5-0,” she laughs.
| They wonder who the other breakfast is for |
Cadno queries the breakfast for two, remarking that she thought Anita was away.
| "I'm off to the garage" |
In the Deri, as Mathew carries out his DIY tasks, Garry leaves for the garage.
| "Something is going on, Mathew!" |
Dani is worried; “He didn’t sleep much last night – something is going on, because he usually goes straight to sleep.
| "I'm sure he knows about us!" |
“He has been very sarky today, as if he knows about us.” Mathew points out that if Garry did know, he would be in the morgue, so she should just chill.
| "I don't know what he'd do!" |
“If he’s found out – and I haven’t told him – I don’t know what he’d do!” she agonises,
| "He can't possibly know" |
but Mathew insists that he cannot possibly know, and urges her not to worry.
| Hywel will be making a Victoria sponge |
Meanwhile, Garry has gone to see Hywel, who has some housework to do, and a Victoria sponge to make; “Did you know – you’re not supposed to put cream in a Victoria sponge?” he asks, and is expecting Garry to tell him he would make someone a lovely wife.
| "Sioned's expecting my baby!" |
However, Garry’s mind is on other things. “Sioned’s expecting my baby!” he announces, “It happened after Ed disappeared.”
| "What? Sioned – of all people?" |
Hywel is astounded that it is Sioned, of all people, and Garry continues, “I’ve never done anything so stupid – since I’ve been with Dani,
| "I still don't want anyone else!" |
“I haven’t wanted anyone else, and I still don’t want anyone else!”
| "I've got some interesting information for you!" |
Back at number 10, Kelly passes on the interesting information that no-one will be in Penrhewl for a week. “They’re going away, so while the cat’s away . . . You’re here to sabotage their plans, and I will be with you all the way.”
| "I'll go over and take a look at the place" |
Morgan will go over there later to spy out the place, and Kelly suggests it would be a good idea to take Gethin.
| He seems reluctant to meet Gethin – (I wonder why) |
He objects to this, saying that it is not a good idea to meet up until the night of the protest – as the less he knows, the better. “He can’t do any harm to himself, or anyone else then. We can make the arrangements – we’re a good team!”
| He knows how to divert Kelly's attention |
Another kiss ensures that Kelly’s mind has been diverted from Gethin.
| "I don't really intend to move in with her" |
Hywel warns Garry not to do anything rash which he will regret. Garry admits that he has told Sioned he is considering moving in with her, but does not really intend to do so; “I said anything just to keep quiet. There is a fairly good chance she’s telling the truth.”
| "Well, you're not the first to land yourself in a mess like this!" |
Hywel comments that he is not the first – and won’t be last – to land himself in a mess like this.
| "I left Gaynor because of Sheryl's baby" |
“I left Gaynor when Sheryl was expecting my baby, and it was because of the baby – at the time! But that is Sheryl, not Sioned –
| "Ask yourself – could you live with Sioned?" |
“could you live with Sioned?”
Noticing Garry’s grimace, Hywel goes on, “You have to tell her straight.” Garry replies that then she would have an abortion; “That would solve your problem, then,” concludes Hywel.
| "I don't want her to get rid of it!" |
Garry confesses he does not want her to get rid of it.
Hywel advises that he has to tell Dani before Sioned does, but Garry fears this will ruin his marriage. Hywel tells him there is a chance Dani will forgive him, but Garry considers, “It’s a hell of a gamble, isn’t it?”
| Josh is having his collar felt by the law |
As Josh is marched out of the café by a couple of police officers, Kath protests, “This is harassment – there are rapists and muggers out there, and you pick on an innocent bloke!”
| "Someone is setting up Josh" |
She tells Mark they are accusing him of stealing; someone is setting him up to try and get rid of him.
| "And I know who it is!" |
She suspects Dai Ashurst, but Mark knows otherwise; “It’s Debbie!”
| "Surely you didn't tell her?" |
Kath is furious that he has told her, and he already regrets it.
| "This one's on the house, Hywel" |
Garry tells Hywel that his drink is on the house; Mathew comments, “Mr Monk wants something.”
| "Never let it show that something is bothering you" |
Hywel offers another piece of advice; that Garry must not give the impression that there is something bothering him.
| Garry offers profuse apologies |
Then Dani comes in, and Garry apologises for his behaviour, saying that it has been one of those days.
| "Right – go upstairs and cook a special meal for us!" |
He orders Mathew to go upstairs and prepare a special dinner for Dani and himself. They will have peace and quiet to talk upstairs.
| Mr Monk looks decidedly anxious |
Garry gives Hywel a worried look,
| Morgan investigates Penrhewl farmhouse . . . |
Penrhewl is quiet, as the door opens and Morgan walks cautiously in;
| . . . looking through drawers . . . |
he looks around, rifles through some drawers,
| . . . and removing a key |
and removes a key from its hook.
| "He'll work out that it was you" |
In the café, Mark warns Debbie that Josh was not born yesterday; “He is going to work out it was you who hid that stuff, and then called the cops.
| "Doesn't it bother you?" |
“Doesn’t it bother you that an innocent bloke is getting the blame?” She argues that he should be thanking her, as Josh is bound to take advantage of Kath.
“Why don’t you just accept the fact that he’s your father?” Mark demands, but she is adamant that she has no feelings for him –
| "He's never been a father to me!" |
he has never been a father to her, and never will be. She makes it clear that she has no interest in having any sort of relationship with Josh.
| Kelly enquires how it is going |
Kelly, who is sitting quietly in the café, phones Morgan,
| Morgan has opened the gun cabinet . . . |
who is examining the contents of the gun cabinet. He reports that it is very quiet there, and that he has not found any targets for them. He will see her later.
| . . . and the shotgun intrigues him |
He seems to be taking an inordinate interest in the shotgun.
Sampling the food which Mathew has prepared, Dani is very impressed.
| "I would cook for you every night!" |
Mathew tells her, “I can’t understand why Garry doesn’t enjoy cooking for you – I would cook for you every night.”
Dani is wondering why Garry organised this, as he has never done anything like this before.
| "He's trying to catch us out" |
“He’s trying to catch us out – it’s something Garry would do,” she tells Mathew,
| "Right – you can go now, Mathew!" |
and then Garry walks in, straightaway dismissing Mathew. “This is exciting – doing something different,” she says,
| That looks rather like a forced smile |
and Garry invites her to sit down.
| Morgan plans to strike tomorrow night |
Back at number 10, Morgan informs Kelly that they are building new pens at Penrhewl, which can be smashed to bits. He thinks that tomorrow is the night, as long as Gethin is free. As he crunches his way through the crisps,
| "And then, off to Madrid – out of the firing line!" |
Kelly muses, “And then, we’ll be off to Madrid, out of the firing line! I’ll have a job explaining to Auntie Anita where my knight in shining armour came from, but deep down she’ll be glad.”
| "Tomorrow it is, then!" |
“Not a word until I give the OK,” Morgan warns, and then Kelly receives a text, saying that Gethin will be free. “Right, tomorrow it is, then!” decides Morgan.
| "We still love each other, don't we?" |
“The last few weeks have been very stressful,” explains Garry, “But we still love each other, don’t we? Marriage isn’t meant to be easy – life is not easy –
| "We're always learning from our mistakes" |
“we’re always learning from our mistakes.”
| "Have I done anything wrong?" |
Dani very anxiously asks, “Have I done anything wrong?” He insists that she has not, but that they are ideally suited. He acknowledges that they have had a few wobbles, but no one will come between them.
| "A few people are jealous of us!" |
“A few people are jealous of us – they would love to ruin our relationship. Those type of people exist.” He fetches the casserole which Mathew has prepared,
| The sight of a casserole full of food . . |
but Dani is feeling unwell, alleging that the prawns have turned her stomach,
| . . . is too much for Dani's delicate stomach |
then runs and throws up in the sink.
| Mathew is blamed for the occurrence |
Garry furiously calls Mathew and asks whether the prawns were fresh; Mathew replies that they were frozen.
| Garry is incandescent with rage |
“We were supposed to have a quiet lunch together – and you have ruined it!” Garry rages.
| "You deserve a couple of pints" |
Kath brings Josh a pint in the Deri, telling him, “You deserve a couple of pints after what you’ve been through!”
| "Someone is trying to frame me – and I know who!" |
He points out that his fingerprints were not on that stuff and that someone is trying to frame him, and he knows who – Debbie. He also believes that some of the villagers are helping, and ganging up against him.
| "I feel like heading back up north" |
“I want a quiet life, at my age,” he complains, “I feel like heading back up north, or Ireland. It isn’t the right time to talk to Debbie, not now, after all this – the time might never be right. Some things aren’t meant to be, are they?
| "Mark told her" |
Kath tells him, “She knows – Mark told her.”
| "And who told him?" |
Josh wants to know who told Mark. “I was trying to help, moving things along between you,” she continues, and he agrees she certainly did that.
“I thought we understood each other!” he exclaims, and she maintains that she will help him knock some sense into the head of that daughter of his.
| "I don't need help from the Joneses!" |
“Stay out of it, Kath!” he adds, “I don’t need help from anyone – especially the Joneses!”
| Off he goes – and leaves his pint behind |
He gets up and walks out of the Deri.
