| "Thanks for having the tournament at the Deri" |
Hywel thanks Garry for holding the darts tournament in the Deri tonight, and also for the £100 donation for the Parents’ and Toddlers’ group which Dani gave him.
![]() |
| This £100 is news to Garry |
Garry knew nothing about this, but comments, “It’s a shame she had to pull out, but she’s hopeless at darts. Britt, on the other hand, is very competitive.”
![]() |
| They shake on the deal |
They agree on a £100 bet, Britt’s team against Hywel’s.
![]() |
| "I'm not here to hassle you" |
Jason arrives at Awyr Iach, stressing that he is not there to hassle Sara; “I’ve accepted that we’re over – you’ve said it enough times,” he concedes
![]() |
| He hands over the book of baby's names |
and hands her a book of baby’s names, “I’m still the baby’s Dad, and want to be part of his life.”
“Or hers!” prompts Sara.
![]() |
| "I don't want the child to suffer" |
Jason adds that he does not want the child to suffer because they have separated. Sara takes the book and walks away,
![]() |
| Sara looks a little wistful |
confirming that she will look at it later.
![]() |
| "The kids are having pizza tonight" |
Colin tells Britt that he has got the kids pizza for tonight, and the film Titanic, but he would prefer being at the Deri to support her. “And Gaynor, of course!” she snaps in reply.
![]() |
| Garry wants Britt at the Deri earlier tonight |
Garry visits, asking Britt to come to the Deri early, as Dani is having the evening off; “The Welsh music gig is tomorrow, and then there’s the match on Saturday.” Britt realises that they will now have too many darts players,
![]() |
| "Yes – we'll drop Gaynor!" |
and decides quite gleefully that Gaynor will be the one to be dropped.
![]() |
| A pep talk from Hywel, the coach |
Meanwhile, in the café a meeting of the other team is taking place; Sara has provided t-shirts emblazoned, ‘CEWRI CWMDERI’ (Cwmderi Giants).
![]() |
| "What's this 'CEWRI CWMDERI'?" |
Hywel queries this and is told, “There wasn’t room for ‘Parents’ and Toddlers’ Group’!”
![]() |
| "I'm allergic to polycotton" |
A stranger, who we learn is Melissa, enquires whether the t-shirts are polycotton, as she is allergic to that, and is reassured by Sara that they are, “Organic Cotton.”
![]() |
| "She's on the lookout for someone else" |
“Wasn’t she married to that builder in Llanarthur?” Vicky asks, and is told by Cadno that she has dumped him, and is on the lookout for someone else.
![]() |
| Cadno considers hairs on the table rather unhygienic |
Then Cadno remarks that there are some hairs on the café table; Sheryl abruptly gets up to fetch another mug of tea.
![]() |
| Mathew comes for the cellar key |
At the garage, Mathew comes in to collect the cellar key from Garry, so he can stock up the bar for this evening, and Gethin asks whether he can start later tomorrow after the evening’s festivities. “No chance!” is the stern reply, and he is told, “Don’t drink too much, as you have a job to hit the dartboard at the best of times!”
![]() |
| Jason brings his car in for attention |
Jason brings his car in for servicing, and the job is allocated to Gethin. Before Mathew goes, Garry asks him for a favour;
![]() |
| "Can you do me a favour?" |
“Can you deliver a car to my friend, Mike, tonight? I can’t do it because of this leg. Britt will cover for you at the bar – and you’ll get some extra for your help,
![]() |
| "Whatever you do, don't tell Dani!" |
“but don’t mention it to Dani, as she doesn’t like Mike – better keep it quiet.”
Hywel tells Sheryl that Anita will be coming over to babysit,
![]() |
| Sheryl does not want to go tonight |
but Sheryl makes the excuse, “Esther’s not herself, and I’d prefer to stay here, just in case. You go and enjoy yourself,” she insists.
![]() |
| "You're not needed for the darts tonight" |
Britt goes to Llwyncelyn and announces with delight that Gaynor is not needed for the darts team. Gaynor accepts this calmly, saying that darts is not one of her strengths, but that she will come and support them.
![]() |
| "There's no point – Colin won't be there!" |
“There’s no point – Colin won’t be there! You won’t be so keen now!” snarls Britt. Gaynor appears concerned,
![]() |
| "As long as you don't mess it up!" |
so Britt assures her, “Colin and I are very happy – as long as you don’t mess it up!”
![]() |
| "I think you'd better go!" |
Gaynor protests that she and Colin are simply friends, and when Britt stresses that she does not trust Gaynor, she is told, “That’s your problem – I think you’d better go!”
![]() |
| "Call someone else!" |
“Next time your washing machine has problems, call someone else!” Britt rages.
![]() |
| The team are allocated their opponents |
At the Deri, Hywel announces the names for the darts games, and Sara takes issue with being the substitute;
![]() |
| "Look – I'm pregnant, not ill!" |
“I’m pregnant, not ill! I shall play Jason, and Melissa can be substitute!”
![]() |
| Melissa has set her sights on Jason |
Mathew arrives back after his errand, and Melissa buys Jason a drink; of course Sara is watching.
![]() |
| "She told me to keep my hands off you!" |
Gaynor goes to see Colin, reporting, “I was not happy when Britt told me to keep my hands off you! She has obviously heard that you came over on Monday. You have to tell her the truth – I’m not taking that from her! You can write that song yourself.”
Chester wanders in, looking for a charger;
![]() |
| Colin reads Gaynor's notes |
Gaynor gives Colin a piece of paper with some ideas for a song, which he might have to tweak. Chester then says he is going out.
![]() |
| "Please, Gaynor!" |
Colin pleads, “Please, Gaynor – I want the song to be perfect!”
![]() |
| "I shall tell her the truth" |
She accedes to his request, but warns that if Britt dares to talk to her like that again, she will tell her the truth.
![]() |
| Ffion rejoices at beating Gethin |
Ffion is jubilant about her darts victory over Gethin, who Garry describes as useless,
![]() |
| "You're late, Britt!" |
then Britt arrives late, gloating, “I’ve been to see Gaynor –
![]() |
| "I wanted to look into her eyes!" |
“I wanted to look into her eyes as I told her to keep her hands off Colin – she’s after him! She realises now how stupid she was to let him go!”
It is by now her turn to play against Cadno, and as she takes careful aim,
![]() |
| Chester comes barging in |
Chester bursts in and demands a fiver. “I didn’t want to stay in the flat – Mrs Llywelyn was there,” he says. Britt demands what they were doing,
![]() |
| "Just talking about something boring" |
and he tells her, “Just talking about something boring.” She abandons the darts and rushes out of the Deri.
![]() |
| "Thank you, Chester!" |
Garry is angry; “Thank you, Chester – that’s great!” he growls.
![]() |
| "Sugar lump . . ." |
Colin consults the piece of paper and sings, “Sugar lump – Beaujolais wine,” but hides the paper when Britt comes thundering in,
![]() |
| "Gaynor's been here!" |
shouting that Chester told her Gaynor was there.
![]() |
| "She was upset about what you said" |
He advises her, “She was upset about what you said. I’m not interested in her – not like that, anyway.”
![]() |
| "She regrets letting you go!" |
Britt insists that Gaynor regrets letting him go, but Colin calmly reassures her, “You’re wrong, I promise you – I’m with you now and wouldn’t go off with anyone.” She argues that Gaynor was his first love,
![]() |
| "I love you!" |
and he replies, “I love you – and I wish I had the words to tell you properly. One day you’ll know and understand why I could never betray you.”
![]() |
| "But either you're there, or she's here!" |
“But every time I turn round, either you’re at Llwyncelyn or she’s here!” wails Britt, “She’s smart, posh and organised – and look at me – like a car crash – I can’t compete!”
![]() |
| "You're the one I want!" |
“You don’t need to – you’re the one I want!” Colin tells her, “When I’m at work, stacking shelves, I’m happy because I know I’m coming home to you. You won’t lose me – you’re stuck with me now!”
![]() |
| "See, I can beat you, even on crutches!" |
Garry boasts to Hywel that he can beat him, even on crutches.
![]() |
| "Can you have a word with Sheryl?" |
As Ffion is leaving, Hywel asks her to call on Sheryl, as he suspects she does not feel part of this group, and was very quiet at the café earlier. Ffion is amazed at how sensitive he has become.
![]() |
| Mathew's efforts are not very successful |
Mathew offers to buy Vicky a drink, and finds he has to pay for Cadno’s and Sara’s too.
![]() |
| "Yes, everything's all right" |
Ffion calls on Sheryl, who is adamant that everything is all right, and Ffion should go back to the Deri; she says that Hywel has not had a night out for ages, and should enjoy himself, as he does most of the babysitting.
![]() |
| "I've never seen him as happy" |
“I’ve never seen him as happy as he is with you and Esther,” Ffion tells her before she goes.
![]() |
| Mathew keeps trying |
Mathew tries to chat up Vicky, while Melissa is showing her holiday photos to Jason; she emphasises how hot it was in Kakadu (apparently in Northern Australia).
![]() |
| "Yes, I can see that!" |
“Yes, I can see that by how little you’re wearing!” he replies.
![]() |
| Sara's mind is not on the matter in hand |
Sara’s mind is not on the darts, and she is reproved by Hywel, “At this rate, the only dartboard you’ll hit is the one at the Bull!”
![]() |
| She is only too glad to summon Jason away from Melissa |
She calls Jason over to take his turn.
![]() |
| "He's got a fan over there!" |
Cadno remarks to Sara, “He’s got a fan over there!” but Sara tries to feign indifference, answering that they are over, and at last Jason has accepted that. “He’s obviously moved on,” smiles Cadno.
![]() |
| "I don't care about Garry!" |
Colin and Britt have settled down to watch the film, and she does not care about going back to the Deri.
![]() |
| They get into the spirit of the film |
Colin stops the film, and they adopt a pose, pretending they are Leonardo and Kate on the prow of the Titanic.
![]() |
| "You're mad, Colin Evans!" |
“You’re mad!” she laughs.
He goes to the kitchen for popcorn, and she tidies the cushions on the sofa,
![]() |
| Then she finds the paper, with its professions of love |
inevitably finding the paper, which she reads with concern.
![]() |
| "Popcorn, madam?" |
Colin returns with the popcorn.
![]() |
| Vicky's tournament-winning dart |
As Vicky expertly throws the winning dart, Hywel invites Garry to put his hand in his pocket. When Garry produces the £100,
![]() |
| "For the cause – thank you!" |
Sara plucks it from his hand; “Thank you – for the cause!” she says.
Vicky and Cadno decide to go to town to make a night of it, and even persuade Hywel to go with them;
![]() |
| "I'll come, if Jason will" |
“Only if Jason is coming,” he says – and of course, in that case, Melissa will also be joining them.
![]() |
| "No chance, Mathew!" |
Mathew also wants to come, but Vicky is quite explicit; “No chance – you had your chance last time!” He wants to forget what happened and start again, but she insists, “I’m not a pushover!”
![]() |
| "Come on, Jason!" |
Melissa urges Jason to get a move on, and Sara looks downhearted as they leave.
