In his reconstruction of Courtney’s room, Jim goes berserk, sweeping things off the cupboards

and throwing the rack of clothes to the floor, as he sobs uncontrollably.

| Eileen gives Jim's description to the police |
Meanwhile, Eileen tells the police that he is missing, and that she has looked in all the obvious places.

| Sheryl looks at a hairpiece |
Sheryl looks at what appears to be a hairpiece, then quickly hides in in its padded bag when she hears Hywel coming.

| "Is the birthday girl asleep?" |
“Is the birthday girl asleep?” she asks, and Hywel replies that all the excitement was too much for her.

| "Look, there's another present!" |
He sees what he thinks is an unopened present, and leans over to get it.
 |
| "Mind my hair, Hywel!" |
“Mind my hair, please!” she squeals, “It took me ages to do it!” He wonders why her hair suddenly matters so much.

| Arwen delivers the post to her Mam |
Arwen brings the post to Ffion; “Good girl – are you being like Mr Jones the postman?” says Ffion,

| One of the letters excites Ffion |
and she is excited when she sees that one of the items is a mortgage offer.

| Gethin wants them to celebrate their mortgage |
Gethin promises her they will have lunch to celebrate.
Ffion admits she had an argument with Sheryl;

| "Sheryl has alopecia" |
“She has alopecia, and Hywel doesn’t know – I advised her she should tell him.”

| "You shouldn't tell her what to do" |
Gethin remarks that she should not tell Sheryl what to do;
 |
| "Are you saying I'm bossy?" |
“Are you saying I’m bossy?” demands Ffion, and he prefers to call it ‘being too kind’.

| "Who had this Scottish theme idea?" |
As they unpack saltire bunting at the Deri, Garry asks whose idea this ‘Scottish theme’ was, and Dani replies, “The idiot who owns this place, probably!”

| "Have you seen Jim?" |
Eileen comes in, asking if they have seen Jim, as he went out last night and has not been seen since. She says, “I phoned the police, and they advised me to ask around – if you see him, tell him to come home – he’s not in a good place at the moment.”

| "He'll be all right" |
Dani assures her that he will be all right,
 |
| "I have an idea where he might be" |
and admits, “I have an idea where he might be – but I kind of promised that I wouldn’t tell anyone.”

| "If you won't tell me, you can tell the police!" |
Eileen warns Dani that she will get the police to come and ask her.
 |
| "I told you not to get involved" |
As Dani gets her coat, Garry reminds her that he had warned not to get involved in Jim Probert’s problems.

| Sheryl checks again |
As Sheryl feels the back of her head, she insists that nothing is wrong;

| "You've changed, Sher!" |
Hywel responds, “You’ve changed, Sher – you were so sharp with me about your hair, and the only person you pay attention to is yourself in the mirror.”

| "Just checking that I look all right" |
She maintains that she wants to check that she looks all right.
 |
| "All right for who?" |
“For who?” he demands, “You’ve styled your hair, don’t want to sleep with me – it makes me think!”
 |
| "Are you accusing me of something?" |
“Are you accusing me of something?” she exclaims, “I’ve never been unfaithful to you! But can you say the same?”
 |
| "This is not about me!" |
He asserts that this is not about him, and she rages, “Don’t accuse me of pandering to your low standards!” Hywel has had enough and walks out.

| "Two cars need their plates changed" |
When Gethin arrives at the garage, he is told that there are two cars which needs their plates changed, and to be taken to the sports centre, and then there are a few to bring back.
 |
| "I'm not doing that!" |
Gethin makes it crystal clear that he wants nothing to do with this scam. He adds that he and Ffion have had a mortgage offer, and he is not going to risk it by getting enmeshed in this business;

| "How are you going to pay if you have no job?" |
“How are you going to pay this mortgage if you have no job,” Garry demands.
 |
| "I'll tell Dani about this scam!" |
Gethin threatens that if he is sacked, he will inform Dani about the car scam. “She already knows!” maintains Garry, but when challenged, amends this to, “Well, I’m going to tell her!” Gethin promises that if he is sacked, both Dani and the police will be informed.

| "£500, cash in hand?" |
“£500, cash in hand?” says Garry, “But don’t tell Geraint, as I pay him a lot less!”
 |
| "No, Garry!" |
Gethin is still quite adamant that he will not have anything to do with it.

| They approach Jim's secret hideout |
Dani and Eileen approach the lock-up; “You had no right to keep this from me –

| "What if we're too late?" |
“what if we’re too late?” panics Eileen.
 |
| Eileen finds the sight very strange |
They open the door, and see Jim, sitting on the bed, with wreckage strewn around him.
 |
| "Why did you bring her here?" |
“Why did you bring her here?” Jim asks, “You promised!”
 |
| "She was afraid something had happened to you" |
Dani explains that Eileen was afraid something had happened to him. Remarking, “I don’t know what’s going on with you two! It’s about time you shared this with your wife!” she leaves them, closing the door behind her.

| "I didn't want you to see this place" |
“I didn’t want you to see this place – especially like this!” groans Jim,
 |
| "I was angry with Courtney – with myself – with you!" |
“I was angry with Courtney for dying – angry with myself for still being alive – and angry with you for being ill! I don’t want to have to make room for your things as well!”

| "I don't even know if I am sick" |
Eileen points out that she does even not know yet whether she is sick; “I know it’s hard, but you have to take it one step at a time.
 |
| "I can't bear thinking of you were, all alone!" |
“I can’t bear thinking of you in here, all alone, breaking your heart!”
 |
| "I can't bear thinking about you worrying about the biopsy!" |
“I can’t bear thinking of you all alone, worrying about the biopsy,” admits Jim.

| Sheryl apologises to Ffion |
Sheryl goes to Cysgod y Glyn to see Ffion, who has a birthday gift for Esther.

| "I do tend to tell people what to do" |
Ffion concedes, “I do tend to tell people what to do – it’s an occupational hazard of being a teacher.”
Sheryl has realised that she should tell Hywel, as it is not fair that he does not know why she is behaving like this.

“I’d like to know what to expect – if I showed you, you’d be honest, wouldn’t you?” she asks, and Ffion assures her she will.

| Ffion finds a hairless patch |
Sheryl unclips her hair to reveal a bald patch, which Ffion describes as, “Not ugly, but quite obvious.

| "You still look like yourself" |
“You still look like yourself – I know how difficult this is for you, and I don’t know how I would react.”
Sheryl rearranges her hair to cover the patch,

| "That's the advantage of being a hairdresser!" |
commenting, “That’s the advantage with being a hairdresser – I think I’m going to tell him!”

| "I still talk to her sometimes" |
Jim confides in Eileen, “I still talk to her sometimes – I tell her how I feel – that I’m lost without her –

| "I can still see her as a baby" |
“I can still see her as a baby, when she was a little girl, when she was angry with me – I see her smile. I tell her what a good girl she is and that everyone misses her.
 |
| "She's not here any more, is she?" |
“When I first started coming here, I could smell her perfume on things, as if she was here – I can’t do that any more. It’s as if she’s gone somewhere – I don’t know where. She’s not here, is she?”

| "She'll be in your heart for ever" |
Eileen tells him, “No, she’s not here, but she’ll be in your heart for ever. Whether we like it or not, life must go on.”

| "I can't get the cars in, because of your dodgy plates!" |
Gethin complains, “I’ve got a car that needs new brake pads and another one for MOT, but I can’t get them into the garage, because Geraint is changing your dodgy plates!” Garry emphasises that they would be shifted quicker if he helped.

| "I'm keeping a secret – and so is Garry!" |
Dani arrives, wanting to know what they are arguing about. Gethin replies, “I’m keeping a secret from Ffion – and Garry’s keeping one from you!”

| Garry thinks his scam is about to be revealed |
Garry is becoming rather uncomfortable as Gethin continues, “We’ve been offered a mortgage on Cysgod y Glyn, and I haven’t told Ffion yet. I was waiting until I asked Garry if he would write a letter, confirming my employment and full-time wage.

| "You devious little ****!" |
Dani accepts that is Gethin’s secret, but turns her attention to Garry’s; Gethin explains, “He’s known since yesterday, but I asked him not to say anything!”

Dani is very pleased for him, and Garry, rather insincerely, agrees, “It warms the cockles of my heart!”

| "Jim was really upset" |
When Gethin has left the office, Dani tells Garry, “I found Jim, and he was really upset, but I think they’re going to be honest with each other from now on –

| "Like a husband and wife should!" |
“supporting each other like a husband and wife should!”

| "I shall have to clear it now" |
As they leave the lock-up, Jim supposes that he should clear it now,

| "I want you to come to me – not here or to Dani" |
but Eileen replies that there is no rush, and then adds, “I want you to come to me for comfort now – not here or to Dani. The clinic has been in touch – I shall get the results on Friday.”

and they head for home.

In the Deri, Gethin orders two chilli and chips for when Ffion arrives;

Dani enquires, “Is there anything going on at the garage that I should know about?” Gethin has no idea what she means.

| "I won't ask you to do anything illegal" |
Garry comes in and takes Gethin to a quiet corner; “I’ve decided not to ask you to do anything illegal – on condition you don’t tell Dani what’s going on.

| "Mathew and Geraint can do that" |
“Mathew can drive and Geraint will change the plates.”
 |
| "I've got legit work to do!" |
Gethin stresses that he does not want to know any details; “I’ve got legit work to do!”
 |
| Dani witnesses the cosy conversation |
Dani notices, with suspicion, their private conversation.

| Hywel heaps praise upon Sheryl |
Hywel returns home with flowers, assuring Sheryl, “I’m sorry for accusing you – I don’t want to lose you – you’re the most attractive, sexy, amazing woman!”

Sheryl has something to tell him; I’ve got alopecia – that’s why I’ve been behaving weirdly – I’ve been trying to hide it.”

| Hywel gazes at her hair |
He stares fixedly at her hair, puzzled, and asks why she did not tell him;

| "I wasn't sure how you'd react" |
“I wasn’t sure how you’d react,” she replies, and he leans over to kiss her, but she shies away.

| Sheryl is very jumpy |
“You have to accept the decisions I make, and don’t force me to do something I don’t want to do,” she says,

“Can I give you a cwtch?” Hywel asks, rather hesitantly.

She nods, so he does so, but very gently.
