“You’re having the tests, then we’ll arrange whatever treatment is needed. This doesn’t just affect you – maybe I’ll need to be treated too. Your health and my health are more important than Jim today!”

| "I'll keep an eye on Jim" |
Ed assures them that he will keep an eye on Jim.

| Colin is engrossed . . . |
Gethin is in the shop, and is ignored when Colin discovers what is on the front page of the Western Post.

When shown what it is, Gethin advises him to hide it.

| "Where's Eileen?" |
Jim comes downstairs and asks where Eileen is; Colin mumbles that he thinks she she went to see Sioned.

| "I need her here!" |
“Why has she gone there? I need her here!” replies Jim, and appears to be heading in the general direction of the newspapers on display, so Colin needs to act fast

| "How about making some tea?" |
He springs into action; “Hey, Jim, can you make a cup of tea – I’m absolutely parched!” and Jim goes back upstairs.

| "What's that car doing here?" |
Gethin asks Garry why a car has appeared in the garage; after first demanding a cup of tea, Garry explains, “It’s a friend’s car, that needs a quick service. I said it would be ready this afternoon.” Gethin points out that he has a gearbox from yesterday to finish.

| "Who's the boss here?" |
Garry enquires, “Who’s the boss here? Didn’t you say you and Ffion were applying for a mortgage? You’ve got no chance if you’re unemployed! All the car needs is a quick check –

| "And put the set of plates on it" |
“and there’s a set of plates to put on it when you’ve finished. But tea first!”
 |
| Jim does not appreciate the principles of marketing |
In the shop, Jim finds it strange that tins of beans and tomatoes are next to each other, so Colin explains that it is good marketing that breakfast items are placed together.

| "No-one eats lentils for breakfast!" |
“Why are lentils here, then?” says Jim, “No-one eats them for breakfast!”
Ed has just come in and takes up the theme;

| "Breakfast – that's a good idea!" |
“Breakfast – that’s a good idea! Come with me to the café – I’m starving! If Sioned and Eileen can go shopping, we deserve a treat. They’ve gone to Cardiff for some retail therapy.”

| "Shopping – at a time like this?" |
Jim regards shopping at a time like this as very disrespectful, and as they leave, Colin urgently whispers to Ed, “Keep him away from the Western Post!”

| The posh hotel . . . |
Jason and Sara arrive at a posh hotel, which they have not visited for years;

“Only the best for you and Bumps – happy Valentine’s Day!” Jason says, and Sara comments that it is a bit late.
“As a present, you can have anything you want – it’s my treat,” he assures her,

then discovers he has left his individual card behind, only having their joint one.
 |
| "So everything will be OUR treat!" |
“So everything will be OUR treat!” remarks Sara, but he resolves that he will activate an online transfer to his phone. “Very romantic!” she says.

| Eileen is all ready for her appointment |
Eileen, wearing a gown, waits for her appointment; Sioned is glad that they can afford to go private.

| She checks for any messages |
Eileen checks her phone to see if there is a message from Jim, much to Sioned’s displeasure,

| "I wonder what I've done to deserve this" |
and muses, “Sometimes I wonder what I’ve done to deserve this – even if I get through it, what next?” Sioned urges her to be positive, as they are in the best possible place.

| She goes in for her consultation . . . |

Sioned peruses a leaflet about Hereditary Breast Cancer.

| "I want to know what's going on" |
Gethin has finished working on the gearbox, and is about to start the service; “On one condition,” he says, “I want to know what is going on. If you want me to do something dodgy, I have the right to know.”

| "It's quite simple" |
Garry replies that it is quite simple; the car has been hired, using false papers, and they are to check it, affix new plates and deliver it.

| "And illegal!" |
Gethin points out that it is illegal; Garry informs him, “It’s only a short-term scam – you change the plates, which were slightly damaged, but you don’t notice the numbers are different – unless you want a cut!

| "Cysgod y Glyn won't buy itself!" |
“If so, you drive it to the drop-off at Swansea tonight – Cysgod y Glyn won’t buy itself!” Gethin says he will think about it.

| "I hope the worst is over now" |
In the café, Cadno tells Ed she hopes the worst is now over for Jim;

| Gwen takes the payment . . . |
as Gwen takes the payment for their breakfast,

Jim reaches across to the next table and picks up a Western Post.

he glowers at Ed and marches out of the café, straight across the road to the shop, where he confronts Colin.

“Courtney wasn’t to blame! It was an accident! Why didn’t you tell me?”

| "Don't get upset, Jim!" |
Colin tries to calm him, pleading with him not to get upset, but Jim rages on, “This rubbish the newspapers write is upsetting me!

| "Don't you sell another copy, do you hear?" |
“Don’t sell another copy, do you hear? What sort of friends are you, keeping this from me? I want Eileen here – now!”

After lunch Jason and Sara have a tray of tea;

Jason is rather unnecessarily agreeing with everything Sara says, whether about the hotel’s decor,

or the comfort of the chairs.

| The consultation is over . . . |
Eileen returns to Sioned, telling her the clinic is not sure when she will receive the test results, and is anxious to get back to Jim.

Sioned says she has been reading about Hereditary Breast Cancer, and if her mother’s results are positive, she will know what to do.

| Jim has by now calmed down somewhat |
When Colin and Ed have cleared up all the papers, Jim returns and apologises;

Ed says that everyone appreciates he is under a lot of stress. “All except Eileen and Sioned!” replies Jim,

| "I'm not surprised about Sioned" |
“I’m not surprised about Sioned, to be honest –

| His evaluation of Eileen has changed |
“but if Eileen thinks it’s all right to go shopping after all I went through yesterday, she’s not the woman I thought she was!”

| "Not more food?" |
Afternoon tea is wheeled in on a trolley; “Not more food?” exclaims Sara.

| "Gwenffrewi or Carannog?" |
She has been perusing the book of baby’s names and suggests, “How about Gwenffrewi or Carannog?” Jason envisaged something along the lines of Sam, Sian or Mari, but Sara considers that Bumps should have a name that is more special, such as Egwad

| "Egwad – urgh!" |
(at which Jason visibly grimaces) – or Marsli.
 |
| "I like Marsli Francis!" |
Sara is quite attracted by the name ‘Marsli Francis’.

| There are the new plates for the car |
Gethin is at work on the car when he receives a text from Ffion;

| "We've made other plans" |
He tells Garry that they have made other plans for this evening; in any case he has a feeling that this car business will end badly,

“If you get a mortgage!” warns Garry, “Still, if you’re too scared to deliver the car, I know someone who will – just keep your mouth shut!”

Garry makes a phone call; “Mathew – would you like to make some pocket money?”

| "Fancy a swim or a Jacuzzi?" |
Jason is about to sample more of the hotel’s attractions; “Sure you don’t fancy a swim or a jacuzzi?” he asks Sara, but she prefers a nap before dinner.
He adds that he does like the name Egwad,

but she chides him, “You don’t have to agree with everything I say!” He admits that he just wants things back the way they were; she agrees, “Me too!

| "Can I have the old Jason back?" |
“Can I have the old Jason back now?”

| "How was the shopping?" |
Eileen and Sioned return to the shop flat, where Jim explodes, “How was the shopping? Just to let you know, I’m far from all right! Where the hell have you been?”

| "Don't talk to Mam like that!" |
Sioned admonishes him that he cannot talk to her Mam like that, especially now . . . Eileen stops her, and tells Jim that she needed to have a break.

| "You think of no-one but yourself!" |
Jim accuses her of not thinking about anyone but herself;

| "It's not all about you, Jim!" |
Sioned rages, “You have no idea what is going on with Mam! Stop blaming her! You’re being selfish! It’s not all about you, Jim!” Eileen and Ed persuade Sioned that it is time to leave.

| "After all you said last night!" |
Jim continues his tirade, “After all you said last night about the worst being over, and that you’d always be here for me! It didn’t even last twelve hours – if you had to go somewhere, I’d understand – but a shopping trip?

“Have you seen the paper? They’re making out Courtney to be no better than a joyrider – a stupid, irresponsible girl! That’s what they’re suggesting –
