21 August 2017

Dani feels guilty . . .
Dani sits alone in the Deri flat,
. . . as she looks at the scan
studying the scan photos;  she looks guilty.
Liv's baby is responding to treatment . . .
Meanwhile, at the hospital, the baby is sleeping peacefully, watched over by Tyler.
. . . and Uncle Tyler is keeping watch
He is joined by Iolo, and tells him the hospital is very pleased with her progress.   He has contacted everyone who might be able to help, but no one has seen Liv.
"I can't believe she doesn't want to know how the baby is!"
“I can’t believe she doesn’t want to know how the baby is!” exclaims Iolo, but is reminded that Liv is in no state to worry about anyone but herself.
"This little madam here is tough"
“This little madam here is tough, aren’t you?” Tyler goes on, “Maybe she will be well enough to come home next week – we’ll have to think of a name.   He tells Iolo that her treatment and will continue at home, with them, and is confident that she will be all right.
Dani is about to be awoken
Garry finds Dani asleep on the sofa;  when she wakes,
"I'm fine – no thanks to you!"
she insists, “I’m fine – no thanks to you!”   He was under the impression that things were getting better between them, but she comments, “That was before Friday.   I’m happy that the baby is OK, but I’m angry with you, Garry.
"Having an affair with a psycho!"
“We could have lost her because of you.   You put her in danger, by having an affair with a psycho!”
"It was only one night"
He protests that it was only one night, but to Dani that makes no difference;
"Your bit on the side"
“You cheated – and now ‘your bit on the side’ has pushed me!   Because she lost her baby, she wanted me to lose mine, too.   I actually felt sorry for her – it was horrible, Garry, people were watching.
"What if she does it again?"
“They know you slept with someone – how do you think that makes me feel?   What if she does it again?”
He seems certain that she will not, and urges Dani to come down to the bar, but she does not want people staring at her.
"You're the only one who hasn't done anything wrong"
“You must hold your head up high and carry on – you’re the only one in this mess who hasn’t done anything wrong,” he assures her.
Liv is back in the village
A hooded figure is lurking in the alley, watching Iolo and Tyler return to number seven.
In the shop, Colin takes his latest toy out of its box,
"Call me back, Sioned!"
while Eileen is trying yet again to contact Sioned.
"I think this switches it on"
“Now then, I think this switches it on,” he mutters, but finds that pressing that key on the laptop does not.   Eileen tells him that there is a delivery out the back which needs sorting, but he says he will deal with that in a couple of minutes.
Debbie comes in and asks if Eileen has spoken to Sioned;  “She packed her case – and passport – and left.   I’m worried sick,” Eileen replies.
"I'd leave the country too, if I'd done something like that!"
“I’d leave the country too, if I’d done something like that!” is Debbie’s verdict.   Eileen again tells Colin to remove all his stuff from the counter, but he protests that it is worth thousands,
"I shall have a lot of fun with these"
and informs Debbie that he has treated himself to a new laptop, and a drone.   He anticipates having a lot of fun with those;  “After you work out how to switch it on,” she remarks, acerbically, then leans over and presses a key, which has the desired effect.
"There, even a monkey could do it!"
“Even a monkey could do it!” she sneers.
"Probably another benefits scrounger from Maes-y-Deri"
The hooded figure comes into the shop, and Debbie wonders who she is, as she has been hanging around the place for a while.   Eileen tells her it is probably another family on benefits who have moved into Maes-y-Deri.
Now Colin wants to know what he can use as a password.
"She might be coming home next week"
Iolo comes in for a bottle of milk, and tells them that Tyler has been at the hospital all afternoon;  “The little one is improving every day – she might be coming home next week.”
"She hasn't had the best start in life"
Liv, with the hood, listens as they discuss the price of things for the baby, and Eileen commiserates that she has not had the best start in life.
"I haven't got the time, Colin – see Chester!"
Iolo refuses to help Colin with his password, and recommends he talk to Chester instead.
"Is the baby going to be OK?"
Liv tells Eileen, “I heard about the mystery baby – is she going to be OK?”   Eileen is more interested in whether she intends buying the magazine she is looking at;   Liv immediately walks out.
"That sounds a fair price"
When Iolo arrives home, Tyler is on the phone negotiating a price for some baby requisites, and reveals, “I’m buying some of Nicky’s old stuff for the baby – we're going to need loads of stuff.   Bath, changing mat, Moses basket, high chair.”
"We could just borrow the stuff"
Iolo suggests that they could just borrow the things, as the baby will only be here temporarily;
"I'm sure Liv will turn up"
Tyler appears confident that Liv will turn up, so Iolo points out that the baby will only be here for a few weeks.
Vicky has the evidence on her phone . . .
Vicky managed to capture the altercation in the alley on her phone, and shows it to her mother,
. . . showing Dani being thrown to the ground
who comments, “Dani was like a woman possessed!”
"You shouldn't have filmed that"
Mathew objects to the video, insisting she should not have filmed it in the first place.
"I'm glad the baby's OK"
Debbie goes to the bar, where Dani is looking rather sheepish, and asks for three bottles of lager;  “You’re OK now, are you?   I’m glad the baby’s OK.
"It's his fault for being a naughty boy!"
“It’s Garry’s fault for being a naughty boy!”   Dani storms off upstairs, followed by Garry, who tells Mathew to take over at the bar.
Liv peers into the Deri,
Liv relieves Debbie of some cash
and as Debbie stands at the foot of the stairs, shouting that she is sorry, removes some money from Debbie’s purse on the bar, and hurriedly leaves.
A nice fresh pineapple for Gwen
Next she goes along the back street and watches the shop, while Colin is preoccupied with serving Gwen outside.
"A drone delivery service!"
Then he tells Eileen they should start a delivery service for customers;  she envisages him on a bicycle with a basket on the front, but he is thinking in terms of using the drone.
"Close the shop, Colin!"
She treats the idea with scorn and tells him to close the shop;
The shop has an unwelcome visitor . . .
meanwhile, Liv has slipped in the back way,
. . . who soon emerges from the front door . . .
and Colin meets her on the way out.
. . . having helped herself to a £50 note
She has managed to purloin a £50 note.
"You've made a real fool of me!"
Up in the flat, Dani complains, “I knew it would be like this – everyone is talking about us.   You’ve made a real fool of me!”   He encourages her not to worry about what people like Debbie think.
Eileen apologises on Sioned's behalf
Then Eileen suddenly walks in, to apologise on behalf of Sioned.   “She’s disappeared, and I’m worried she’ll never come back.”
Dani does not want her to come back
Dani regards this as a good thing, as she cannot forgive Sioned for what she did.   Dani had to have another scan to make sure, but the baby is all right.   “Sioned is still grieving for the baby she lost,” Eileen adds.
"And that gives her the right to try and kill my baby?"
“And that gives her the right to try and kill my baby?” Dani demands.   Eileen points out that she was not thinking straight;  “There’s no excuse for what she did!” screams Dani.
Eileen continues by asking if they are thinking about taking matters further,
"We haven't decided yet"
but Garry replies that they have not decided yet.   “You don’t care about my baby at all, do you?” snarls Dani, “You just want to protect your little girl, don’t you?
"Just go, Eileen!"
“Just go, Eileen!”
"I do know what it's like to lose a baby"
Remarking that she knows what it is like to lose a baby, Eileen leaves.
The drone is prepared for its first flight . . .
Outside the shop, Colin takes his drone for its maiden flight;
. . . with intrepid pilot Colin at the controls
under his control it soars above the village street,
It climbs above the High Street . . .
and he is delighted as it hovers near Tomos ac Ellis, then swoops along past the belisha beacon.
. . . and then, after Eileen barks her orders . . .
Eileen is angry to see him playing with this, and tells him to put it away,
. . . makes a perfect touchdown in the middle of the road
so he brings it to a perfect landing on the zebra crossing;  fortunately there is no traffic around.
"Just taking Dorothy for a spin"
He has apparently named the craft, ‘Dorothy’, and points out to Eileen that he was just taking it out for a spin.   “Just close the shop – I won’t tell you again!” she orders him.
Liv is still hanging around
Liv is watching from behind a flower display as Debbie staggers across the road with a Moses basket and a carry-cot.
"Do you know who the baby's mother is?"
She enquires when the baby is coming home, and Debbie asks if she knows who the baby’s mother is, but she walks away.
Tyler is purchasing baby stuff
“Can you think of anything else we need from this website?” says Tyler,
"Why do we need so many nappies?"
and Iolo wonders why they need so many nappies.   “We can pass them on to Liv – she’s not going to stay away for ever,” is the reply.
Debbie brings Nicky's cast-offs . . .
Debbie comes in and puts down her burdens,
. . . and is keen to get her hands on the money
eager for the £100 which they had agreed upon.
Tyler asks if they could borrow the things rather than buying them,
"The baby won't be here for very long"
and Iolo suggests that Vicky might want another baby.   Debbie doubts that, as babies are not cheap.   “There’s no point in us spending a lot of money, as the baby will not be here for very long.”
Debbie has to make do with £20 . . .
She demands a deposit, and they decide upon £20.
. . . which Tyler hands over . . .
Tyler hands over the money,
. . . but then Debbie makes an unpleasant discovery
but then Debbie suddenly discovers that money is missing from her purse.
"This is all my fault . . . "
Dani tells Garry, “This is my fault, not yours.   I didn’t want a baby –
". . . if I'd given you a baby earlier . . ."
“if I had given you a baby earlier, you wouldn’t have gone to Sioned.   I saw how upset you were at the hospital.”
"I've told Sioned where to go"
He reminds her that he has told Sioned where to go, but then their conversation is interrupted, this time by Iolo.
"It must have been terrible"
He asks how Dani is feeling, and appreciates it must have been a terrible time, waiting for the scan.
"I don't know how I would have coped"
“I’m not sure how I would have coped if I’d lost her – I’m struggling as it is,” she admits, but Iolo predicts she will be a good mother –
"You're much better than your sister"
much better than her sister.
“One of you is frightened about losing a baby,
"She doesn't care if her baby is dead or alive"
and the other doesn’t care if her baby is dead or alive – it’s sad,” he comments.
"You don't know her – this is typical"
Dani tells him that this is not a surprise at all.   He goes on, “Tyler is convinced that she will be back soon and the baby may be able to come home next week.
Iolo is worried that this jeopardises his baby
“I just hope that Liv is going to come back, because I want a baby with Tyler, and the longer Liv stays away, the harder it will be to let that baby go.”
"I'm sure I had it when I came in here"
Debbie angrily tells Garry that £50 is missing from her purse, and she is sure she had it when she was in the Deri.
"I left my purse on the bar"
“I went to the bar to get the drinks, and then there was that nonsense with Dani.   I left my purse on the bar – that’s it –
"You helped yourself!"
“it was you!” she shouts at Mathew, “You helped yourself – you saw your opportunity when I turned my back!”
"I would never do that!"
He protests his innocence, and Garry backs him.
"Where's that £50 note?"
Eileen is counting the takings from the shop when she finds that a £50 pound note is missing;  she particularly remembered someone paying her with that.
"I didn't see that"
Colin does not recall seeing it,
Eileen also jumps to an unwarranted conclusion
and Eileen jumps to the conclusion that he has taken it;  “How long were you playing with that blinking drone and laptop when I went out?   You can’t turn your back for a second!
"I need someone I can depend on"
“I need someone I can depend on, and I can’t depend on you if money disappears from the till.
"I want you to do fewer shifts"
“I want you to do fewer shifts – I have to have someone I trust behind that counter.”
Colin is pleased to leave, and meets Garry in the doorway;
"I don't want to hear it, Garry!"
“If you’ve come here to shout and argue, I don’t want to hear it,” Eileen tells him.
"I'll make sure Sioned is charged with assault"
He calmly informs her, “I’m going to police to make sure that Sioned is charged with assault.   She could have ruined Dani’s life – and mine.   No apology would ever be enough.
"They'll be told exactly what your daughter did"
“The police will be told exactly what your daughter did, and they’ll find her, no matter where she’s hiding.
"This time, Sioned has to pay"
“I’m sorry, Eileen, but this time Sioned has to pay for what she’s done.”
