29 August 2017

Liv is feeling cold
Liv is huddled on the sofa, feeling cold;  Tyler proposes having some breakfast, but she does not want anything.   He points out that the surgery gave her methadone, but she blames this for the way she feels.
Iolo does some tidying-up
Iolo comes downstairs, he is going to wash the cups
"I understand how you feel"
and tells her he understands how she feels;
"You don't understand at all!"
“You don’t understand at all!” she snarls.
He complains to Tyler that it is like a sauna in there,
"She needs our support"
but Tyler points out that she has had a rough night and needs their support.
Iolo advises he should tell Dani that she is here before she finds out some other way.
"I'm going out for some fresh air"
Then Liv decides she might go out for some fresh air, and will not be long.
"We can go and visit the baby"
“Yes, if you fancy going out, we could visit the baby in hospital,” Tyler replies, and it is evident to her that he does not trust her.
She changes her mind, and does not now want to go out, because she knows what the nurses are saying about her.
"You should ask Dani"
Iolo needs to go out on a job, and suggests that Tyler could ask Dani to come.
They arrange to have lunch in the Deri
Gaynor encounters Elgan in the street;  he says that he was staying out of her way because of the results.   She replies that she can always find time for him, and wants to meet him for lunch in the Deri.
Anita is argumentative once more . . .
They are standing right outside the Antur, and Anita lets herself in the door, telling him to mind his own business.
. . . and listens to their conversation
The door almost closes behind her, but she listens to what the doctor says about her.
Elgan explains to Gaynor
He explains to Gaynor, “I urged her to sing, so that she could gain some confidence.   She went to the Eisteddfod with Siôn,
"She was so drunk"
“and one night she was so drunk, she got up on the Maes stage and started singing with a band.   She was dragged away,” which Gaynor finds quite amusing.
He continues, “She says its my fault, because I got her singing in the first place.”   Gaynor replies that he did not drag her up on to the stage, but he concedes, “We all do stupid things when we’re drunk!”
"Don't you two have better things to do?"
At this, the door opens again, and Anita demands, “Don’t you two have better things to do?
"No wonder there's a queue at the surgery!"
“It’s no wonder there is a queue in the surgery, if the doctor’s here gossiping and poking fun!”   The door is slammed shut.
"I don't get six weeks off"
In the Deri flat, Tyler asks Dani what are her plans for the day, and she replies that she will be working as usual, as she is not a teacher who has six weeks off.
Dani cannot believe what she is hearing
“I’ve got plenty to do, now that Liv is living with us,” he says, eliciting some surprise, “She didn’t have anywhere else to go.”
"You must be crazy!"
Dani insists that he must be crazy, and laughs when he maintains she has quit heroin.   “If she cared about the baby, she would have done it ages ago!”   Then he tells her he is going to see the baby in hospital, and that Liv has not named her yet, as she wants to get better first.
"Do you think you could keep her company?"
He wonders if Dani would go over to keep her company until he gets back,
"She's feeling a bit fragile"
as she is feeling a bit fragile today.
Dani simply feels sorry for the baby;
"You're too soft, that's your problem"
“You’re too soft, Tyler, that’s your problem – but please watch her.   She’ll take advantage of you every chance she gets.   I’m supposed to feel sorry for her, am I?
"She stole from me"
“She stole from me – money and clothes – and she attacked Mam!”
Dani warns him that Liv is just playing him, and as he is leaving, asks him to remind her sister that she wants her stuff back.
"Hide your valuables"
“If you’ve got any valuables, hide them – I’m just warning you!”
The doctor seems to have had a fruitless journey
The doctor has been called to Bryntirion to see Linda, but she refuses to see another doctor.   DJ explains that the hospital thought she had a sprained wrist, but she would not let them examine her.
"There's nothing you can do for me"
Linda is quite forthright;  “I have the right to refuse – there’s nothing you can do for me, and I want you to leave!”
"There is help available"
Elgan informs DJ that she will need more help now, as the wrist will take a while to heal, and there is help available.   As the doctor is about to leave, he hears Anita’s voice on the radio;
Then he hears Anita's voice on CwmFM
“I’m going to play you one of my favourite songs next – it’s a song that’s very close to my heart.
Linda is also listening to it . . .
“This song is for anyone who has lost a loved one, or anyone who feels lonely.   Here’s the talented Rhys Meirion with Anfonaf Angel.”
. . . but abruptly turns off the radio
As soon as the doctor remarks that he likes this song too, Linda turns off the radio, and he leaves the house.
"Why do you have to do that?"
Iolo is doing the vacuuming, but Liv turns off the machine, demanding why he has to do that.   He replies that the carpet is disgusting;
"You dust and scrub every chance you get"
she points out, “You’ve done that a hundred times already – you dust and scrub every chance you get.”   He argues that he has to keep the place clean, and it is not if she keeps making a mess.
“You’re a clean freak!” she taunts him,
"It's because I have OCD"
and he admits that he has OCD – that is why he cleans and things have to be orderly.
He cleans when he is stressed, and he cannot help it;  “I’m not perfect, Liv, I understand how you feel.”
"There is no comparison!"
She insists that no comparison between drug withdrawal and his obsession with dusting.
"You don't know what it is like!"
Liv harangues Iolo, “Everything in your life is so tidy – you don’t know what it’s like on the streets, desperate for money – and for a fix – and feeling scared!   You prance around in your marigolds, complaining the place is untidy – you have no idea!
"Don't tell me you know how I feel!"
“I’ve got nothing, so don’t tell me you know how I feel, because you don’t!”
DJ has to cut up Linda's food
Linda apologises for her attitude earlier, as DJ is cutting up her food;
"You must be getting used to me making a scene"
“You must be getting used to your mother making a scene.”   He says that they could have called the nurse instead, but she replies, “The pain is not the problem – the problem is this life.   I can’t manage things for myself – I cant cut the meat myself, can’t go to the toilet –
"I've got no dignity left"
“I’ve got no dignity.   I can’t be myself any more.”
"You'll feel better after a rest"
DJ advises that she needs to rest after her escapade yesterday, and then she will feel better.
"You know I'll never be better!"
“You know I’ll never be better!” she chides him, and wants him to sit down, as they need to talk.   He cannot, as he has to go and get a few things from the shop, and hurries off.
"Do you want a cup of tea?"
Liv comes downstairs and asks Iolo if he wants a cup of tea;  she heads for the back door, but finds it locked.
"You can't force me to stay here!"
“You can’t force me to stay here!” she protests,
Iolo puts down the keys
so Iolo puts the keys on the kitchen table, saying that she assured them they could trust her,
"Let's see if we can trust you"
and will now see if that is true.   She picks up the keys, but then Tyler enters, announcing that Dani will not be coming, as she is too busy.
"Dani does not want to see me"
Liv remarks that Dani does not want to see her,
Iolo will stay here with Liv
and Tyler decides to stay home, but Iolo reminds him that that will mean the baby will not have a visitor today.   “You go, I will go to work later, or I can postpone the job until tomorrow – I can do the paperwork here.”
"You shouldn't be in here!"
The CwmFM program is on air when Dr Pritchard calls;  “Can’t you read the sign on the door?   You shouldn’t be here!” she admonishes him,
"I just want to apologise"
but he is insistent that he wants to apologise.
"Don't you want to tell everyone?"
“I thought you wanted to go on air, to tell everyone I made a fool of myself at the Eisteddfod!” she rants, “It would save you the bother of gossiping on street corners with your girlfriend!   I’m angry because I was a fool to think we were friends.”

"I heard you talking about your feelings"
The doctor replies, “I heard you on the radio talking about your feelings, and I understand that feeling of loss – I want to help, Anita,” but she regards him as patronising, and urges him to go and find some other worthy cause, so he can give himself a pat on the back and feel better.
Elgan is dismissed from the studio
She puts back on her headphones, and Elgan sadly leaves the studio.
Gaynor is waiting for Elgan
Outside the Deri, Gaynor is wondering where Elgan has got to;  Dani remarks that she should have found someone with a boring job, rather than a doctor.

Gaynor wants a word with Tyler before the start of the term;  “I don’t think he’s got time,” Dani informs her,
"Tyler is looking after Liv"
“He’s visiting the baby in hospital, and looking after Liv.”   Gaynor determines to go and see Tyler, and ask if she can help in any way.
This rather puts them off their meal
They are about to have their meal when Liv rushes to throw up in the sink, just as Gaynor knocks on the front door of number 7.
"A lot needs doing before the start of term"
Tyler invites her in, and she points out all the work that needs to be done before the start of the term, but she is aware of the other commitments he has at the moment.
"Should I reallocate the work?"
“I wondered if I should reallocate the work until you sort yourself out,” she suggests,
Tyler maintains that everything is rosy
but he insists that this is not necessary, as they are coping well here, and in fact he will be back to school tomorrow.
Liv does not look entirely well
In the kitchen, Liv is by now standing, holding her stomach while Iolo does the cleaning up.
"You go to the hospital, Ty"
He insists that Tyler go to the hospital, as he and Liv will be all right there.
"I've brought some sandwiches"
DJ returns home with his shopping, including some sandwiches, as he thought they would be easier for Linda to eat.
"Remember what I said?"
“Do you remember what I said?”
DJ remembers very well
she asks, “That I don’t want to carry on and I need your help?   Now is that time!”
Dani arrives at number 7
Dani pays a visit to number 7;
"I thought you said you were too busy"
“I thought you said you were too busy,” comments Liv, “Now you care, do you?”
Dani exclaims, “Don’t you dare take advantage of Iolo and Tyler!
"Look what she did to me!"
“I was stupid enough to help her when she arrived, and look what she did to me!   But she has always been a liability.”
Iolo maintains that she should be proud of Liv, who has made an effort and turned her life around.
"I know her better than you"
“I hope you’re right – but I know her better than you, don’t forget!” warns Dani, and leaves again.
Elgan had other things on his mind at lunchtime
At Llwyncelyn, Elgan admits that he forgot his date with Gaynor, as he had to go and see Anita, to apologise to her.   “Things didn’t go to plan, and then I was late for surgery.
"I don't know what to do"
“I don’t know what to do.”   Gaynor comments that it is nice that he is trying to help Anita,
"You're overlooking those closest to you"
but it is at the risk of overlooking those closest to him.
He thinks that she is possibly right, and he has worked out what he will do –
"Keep Friday evening free"
he will arrange a surprise, and advises Gaynor to keep Friday evening free.
Dani's clothes go in the bin
Liv puts Dani’s clothes in the bin, while Iolo urges her to take no notice of what Dani said.
"She sleeps lying like this!"
Tyler returns, telling them that the baby was gorgeous, and he has some good news – she can come home tomorrow.
"I told you I wasn't ready!"
“But I told you I wasn’t ready!” protests Liv, “I can’t look after her – I can’t even look after myself!”
"Well, she's coming home tomorrow!"
Tyler states quite clearly that the hospital are discharging her and she is coming home tomorrow,
"I don't want her here!"
but Liv is equally determined that she does not want the baby here.
"You've been so strong these last few days"
“Look, you’ve been so strong these last few days, you show that you can do this.
"We have faith in you, don't we, Iol?"
“We have faith in you, don’t we, Iol?”
"I want you to do it on Thursday"
Linda informs DJ, “I want you to do it on Thursday.   It gives me a chance to sort things out tomorrow.   You can book the day off with Sara, I don’t want to be a burden.
"I thought we could go to Garn Gwydr"
“I thought we could go to Garn Gwydr – it’s not far – there are is a lovely beach.
"Maybe we could take a picnic"
“Maybe we could take a picnic.”
