3 August 2017 (2nd)

Anita leaves the shop
Anita comes out of the shop and tells Siôn that Kelly is heartbroken;
"I was excited about being a grandfather again"
Siôn admits that he was excited about being a grandfather again.   Anita predicts that it will happen, but just not in the way they expect.
"Are you a cheese and pickle man?"
“What sandwiches do you want on the journey to the Eisteddfod – are you a cheese and pickle man?”
"I shall have to cancel"
He is afraid that he will need to cancel that now, and she is very disappointed, as she has already bought her wellingtons.   He explains that he wants to visit Macs in Cardiff, and does not want him to think he has been forgotten.   Anita walks away, disgusted.
"How long is the silent treatment going to last?"
In the Deri, Garry comes downstairs and asks if Dani wants anything from the shop;  she does not reply.   “How long is the silent treatment going to last?” he enquires, “We have to talk, but you are not listening.   Sioned is blackmailing me – she said so herself.”
"That doesn't mean it's  true"
Dani replies that does not mean it is true.
Gethin arrives in a good mood
Gethin comes in and offers to buy Dani lunch;  “Ffion and I are getting to know each other again,” he tells her cheerfully.   He wants to talk to Garry about the garage,
"No, Gethin – Garry is busy"
but Dani informs him that his boss is busy.
"What's wrong, Dan?"
Gethin asks what is wrong, as Dani appears rather distant;  she blames her hormones.   “Come on, you can tell me,” he says, “Is the baby all right?”
"Garry is the father of Sioned's baby!"
She explains that Garry is the problem;  “Eileen came over and told me that Garry is the father of Sioned’s baby.   He denies it, but my head is spinning, Gethin, I can’t eat, I can’t sleep.   Sioned denies it, too – they say it’s some sort of blackmail.
"The thought of those two in bed makes me sick!"
“Thinking of those two in bed together makes me feel sick!”
Gethin admits that he is not a great fan of Garry, but he knows one thing –
"Garry thinks the world of you"
that Garry thinks the world of her.   She replies that she was under the same impression.
Mathew is concerned about Dani
Then Mathew arrives, and asks if she is OK, but is told rather abruptly to go and check the mixers.
Gethin continues, “I know you have had a shock, but you and the baby mean everything to Garry.   He wouldn’t risk that for a fling with Sioned.
Dani is urged to focus on Garry and the baby
“You have to focus on Garry and the baby now – they are what matters – no-one else.”
"Sorry, Auntie Anita, I don't do Cerdd Dant"
“Sorry, Auntie Anita, I don’t do Cerdd Dant, (the art of presenting or performing poetry to harp accompaniment, which is an important competition in Eisteddfodau)” says Kelly;  Anita replies that that there is more to the Eisteddfod than that, and says that it will do her good.
"Traipsing around a field all weekend?"
Kelly is irritated;  “Traipsing around a field all weekend?   I don’t think so!   Ask someone else –
"Stop wittering on and on!"
“stop wittering on and on about it, please!”
Anita appreciates that she is disappointed, but advises that she has to pick herself up and start again.
"It would have worked"
Kelly frets, “It would have worked – I know it would.   An amazing little family of our own.   If only I’d given Tyler breathing space – but no, I had to hassle him.
"I'm such an idiot!"
“It was my fault – I’m such an idiot!”
Anita suggests she should go and talk to Tyler, and is sure that Kelly can persuade him to change his mind;  Kelly says that he sounded pretty determined.
"Tell him just what you told me"
“Tell him what you’ve just told me,” advises Anita,
"No, it's all over"
but Kelly is still convinced that it is over, and there is nothing she can do about it.

"Why did you tell Dani?"
Eileen goes to see Sioned, who says that she should be thanking her mother, as it is all out in the open now.
"All I have to do is wait"
“All I have to do is wait for Dani to throw Garry out.   I have wanted Dani to find out from the beginning – I couldn’t tell her myself, or Garry would never have forgiven me.   You’ve done all the dirty work for me!”
Eileen predicts that Sioned will be wrong
Eileen is incredulous that Sioned thinks he is going to run into her arms.
"I'm going to get him, Mam!
“Not immediately – but I’m going to work on him,” she boasts, “I’m going to get him, Mam, I know I am.”
Her mother points out that she will not, because he loves Dani, his wife, and not her.   “We shall see about that!” , exclaims Sioned, then dismisses her mother, as she wants a lie down.
"You'll be the one who gets hurt"
Eileen warns that she is the one who will be hurt in the end, but Sioned is confident that she knows what she is doing.
"I'm staying here with you"
Garry asks when Dani is having lunch with her big brother, and she replies that she is not, but is staying here with him.   He enquires whether she has forgiven him.
"I can only forgive you if you've done something wrong"
“I can only forgive you if you have done something wrong,” she answers;  he protests that he has not, and she has to believe him.
“Well, you and the baby are more important than any mistake,” she says;
"You and the baby are my life"
again he is adamant that he has not made any mistakes, and that she and the baby are his life.   He assures her that he would never go behind her back.
"I believe you – I have to"
Dani tells him, “If you had, you would regret it, and would want to turn the clock back, put it behind you, as if it had never happened.”   Garry is looking puzzled by this, but then she announces, “I believe you – I have to.   We all deserve a second chance, don’t we?”
He regrets putting her through all this, maintaining that if he had known what Sioned was planning –
"I don't want to hear her name again"
but Dani insists, “It’s over now.   I don’t want to hear her name again – understand?   Right, it’s opening time.”
"Oh, no – not Anita!"
Tyler is not at all pleased when he hears Anita’s voice;  she advises them that Kelly is not all right,
"Are you sure you're doing the right thing?"
and she just wants to make sure that they are doing the right thing.   “I’ve known Kelly since the day Amanda told me she was pregnant – I know she can go over the top sometimes, but she’s got so much love to give.”
"That doesn't mean it's the best thing for her, or us"
“That doesn’t mean this is the best thing for her, or us,” replies Tyler, but Anita says that what they were proposing to do is so brave;  “We know that there are many different ways you can have children, but only you have the option of being parents with Kelly –
"Think it over once again"
“that’s a special opportunity!   Please don’t turn your backs on it now, because of one small mistake.   All I’m asking is think it over once again, please.”
"I'm making no promises, Anita"
Iolo agrees that they will;  Tyler concurs, but is making no promises.
Sioned is suddenly doubled up with pain . . .
In her flat, Sioned suddenly feels an excruciating pain, and drops the glass of water she is carrying;
. . . so calls (not for an ambulance, but) for Garry
she grabs her phone and calls Garry’s number, but is asked to leave a message.   “I need your help!    Hurry up – I think something is wrong!”
In the Deri, Garry is serving meals at 1:00pm;  he looks at his phone, and sees there is a message from Sioned.   When he hears that Sioned needs his help, he looks anxious,
"Someone has been using my card"
but tells Dani that it is from the bank, and that someone has been using his card.   “I have to go and see them,” he says, “I won’t be long.”
Dani is rather doubtful about this
As he takes his coat and rushes out of the Deri, Dani looks suspicious.
"It must be a pain, with all this paperwork"
In the hospital, a nurse is operating a scanner, but Sioned says she would not understand it anyway;  “It must be a pain, with all this paperwork.
She appears to talk a lot when she is nervous
“My midwife writes a lot when I go and see her, but I’ve been very lucky.”
The nurse scans the baby
The nurse begins a scan on Sioned’s abdomen, and she looks very worried.
Tyler is thinking about what Anita said
Iolo asks if Tyler is all right, as he appears to be deep in thought;  “I can’t stop thinking about what Anita said,”
"What we wanted to do was special"
he replies, “She was right – what the three of us wanted to do was special, and that hasn’t changed.”
"Well, if it's right for you . . ."
Iolo points out that if it is not right for him, there is no point in dwelling on it.   Tyler wonders if it is right for him, but he is not happy like this;
"I feel so empty"
he feels so empty.   Iolo thinks that, in that case, the answer might be obvious.
The nurse calls for a second opinion
Another nurse has joined the first;  Sioned thinks she is wasting their time, as she is not in pain any more.
"Causing trouble before being born"
“I’ve got a right one here – causing trouble before being born.”
They exchange concerned glances
The nurses look at each other,
"What's wrong?   Tell me!"
and Sioned senses that something is wrong.
"I'm sorry, but there's no heartbeat"
“I’m sorry, but there is no heartbeat,” she is told, and as she urges them to try again,
At that moment, Garry arrives
Garry bursts in through the door.   “I’m sorry,” the nurse tells him.
Siôn arrives, to find . . .
Siôn comes in through the back gate of number 10,
. . . Anita relaxing in the garden
and finds Anita sitting in a deckchair;  he tells her that he does want to come to the Eisteddfod with her.   “My wellies won’t go to waste, then,” she replies.   He apologises for changing his mind, and she says that she is looking forward to it.   Then she enquires who the second ticket was originally intended for.
“You weren’t planning to come with me?” demands Anita, “Why didn’t you say, instead of making a fool of me like this?
Anita takes umbrage
“I’m not coming now!”
"It would be an honour to go with you"
He emphasises that he really wants to go with her, and that it would be an honour, but she does warns him not to go overboard.
"Just pick me up in good time, then"
“Just pick me up early in the morning,” she says.
"It's not your fault"
Garry sits in silence with Sioned;  she says that she is sorry, but he knows that it is not her fault.   “For once!” she mutters,
"I was looking forward to someone calling me 'Mam'!"
“I’ve been called a lot of things all my life – I was really looking forward to someone calling me Mam’.   I kept thinking if I got to twelve weeks, it would be fine – and I did.   Fourteen weeks – it wasn’t enough.”
He puts a reassuring hand on her arm
Garry gently places his hand on her arm as she goes on, “I didn’t even feel him kicking – that would have been a memory to treasure at least.
"Did you have a name for him?"
“A special moment between me and the baby.   Did you have a name for him?”
Garry shakes his head
Garry shakes his head.   “There’s no point now,” she sobs,
"I don't have a baby"
“I feel like a mother today, but I don’t have a baby.”
"I'll get straight to the point"
Iolo and Tyler go to number 10, and Tyler says, “I’ll get straight to the point – we want to try again, if you’re still willing.”   Kelly looks very shocked, but agrees that of course she is willing;
"But you might change your minds again"
she is excited, but fears that they may change their minds again, and she could not cope with that.
“We wouldn’t do that to you,” Tyler assures her,
"I'm on board, and that's where I'm staying"
“I’m on board and that’s where I’m staying.”
Another happy reconciliation
He and Kelly embrace, while a smiling Iolo looks on.
"There's nothing left to keep you here"
“Dani will be wondering where you are,” Sioned tells Garry, “It’s OK – you go, there is nothing left to save here.
"Go and save your marriage"
“Go and save your marriage – I’ll be all right – I’m always all right.”
Garry sits on the bed and assures her that he is not leaving her;
"I would have been the for the baby"
“I would have been there for the baby,” but she reminds him that is not what he said yesterday.   “I would have found a way to be his father,” he insists.
"She's not fit to be a mother"
Sioned considers that some would say this is a blessing – “She’s not fit to be a mother.   I won’t even get a birth certificate – too young to deserve one.   It’s as if the baby never existed.”
Garry replies that they will always remember;  “Our little baby,” whispers Sioned,
Someone witnesses their embrace
and he hugs her, as a reflection of Dani can be seen in the glass;
Dani turns away in tears
she turns to go, with tears in her eyes.
"I'll love it, whatever it is"
As they arrive home, in jubilant mood, Iolo says he would be happy with either a boy or a girl;  “I’ll love it, whatever it is!”   Tyler suggests that they should have a couple of cans in the garden to celebrate.
"We could ask Kelly to come"
Iolo thinks, “We could text Kelly – ask her to come and celebrate with us!”
They stare in disbelief . . .
Outside, he finds Tyler staring at something in the garden
. . . at the baby which has suddenly appeared in the garden
– a baby, in a cot –
They are both rendered speechless
and they look at each other with incredulity.
