| Mathew did not think it worth getting dressed |
Eifion, accompanied by Cadno, arrives at his house to find Mathew in a state of undress, so he quickly drapes a towel round himself.

| "You shouldn't be here!" |
“You shouldn’t be here!” Cadno tells him, and when he protests that he lives here, she asks Eifion, “Haven’t you told him yet?”
“Remember I said I would be renting out the house?” Eifion reminds Mathew, “The whole house, not individual rooms! You’re welcome to stay – and pay rent.”

| "I haven't got a job!" |
Mathew replies that it is out of the question in his present jobless situation.

| "Perhaps it's time to go home" |
Cadno suggests it may be time to go home, so Mathew suspects this has been engineered by his father, but is told by Eifion, “No, I just need the money – sorry boy, but I don’t have any choice.”

| "We're on our way to Eifion's" |
Siôn and Iolo are on the way, on foot, to Eifion’s house to check the plumbing.

| "I didn't know that" |
They meet Hywel who has not heard that Eifion intends to rent out the house.

| "Have you seen Sioned?" |
Then Ed comes along, asking people if they have seen Sioned.

| "He and Tyler have argued" |
Iolo explains his cold attitude towards Ed; “He and Tyler have argued about something.”

| "Where have you been?" |
When Ed returns to the flat, Sioned is back; “Where have you been? You stayed out all night, and I’ve been looking for you – I thought you’d be at the shop flat, and you weren’t with Kelly or Tyler.”

| "I was doing you a favour" |
“What is the matter with you – making Mam worry?” she demands, “If you must know, I was at a hotel – I was doing you a favour as they were about to phone the police! You need to work a double shift to pay for the hotel.”

Ed tells her, “You’ve gone too far this time, Sioned! You’re self-harming and blaming me – that’s insane! And you let Kelly believe that.”

She replies that she did not want to let down Kelly’s lively imagination.

| The plumbers receive their instructions |
At his house, Eifion tells the plumbers that he does not just want a safety certificate; the bathroom tap leaks and the kitchen sink smells. Iolo and Siôn go to deal with the problems,

| "I haven't had a shower yet!" |
but Mathew protests, “I haven’t had a shower yet!” Cadno tells him that is his tough luck; “You’ve never liked me, have you?” he grumbles.

| Then Hywel offers to rent the house . . . |
Then Hywel arrives; “I hear a rumour that you’re putting the house up for rent – are you willing to rent it to Sheryl and me? The flat is a bit small for a child.” Eifion describes them as the sort of tenants he had in mind,

while Mathew looks decidedly displeased.

| "Ed said he didn't know where you'd gone" |
Eileen comes to the café flat; “Ed said you’d gone away and he didn’t know where.” Sioned replies that he was not listening as usual,

| Sioned says she visited Lowri |
and that she is only just back from Aberystwyth, where she visited Lowri.
She recalls when they were both at school, and made Eileen’s life hell; “But things have changed since then!”

The look on Ed’s face suggests that he does not agree, and he leaves for work. “Don’t forget that double shift!” she reminds him.

Eileen is convinced that something is wrong; “It’s weird, you going away without telling Ed where,”

| "Everything's fine, Mam" |
but Sioned is at pains to assure her that everything is fine.

Eifion tells Cadno that they have to clear this room out as well, but does not want to do anything before he speaks to Jim about it;

“He lost his temper when Angela tried to do it – it’s not going to be an easy meeting.”

| Hywel has some good news |
In the Deri, Sheryl is suspicious, because Hywel has treated her to lunch, but he announces, “I have some good news for you!” She is hoping for a holiday,

but he continues, “Better than that – we’re moving! I’ve been talking to Eifion, and we’re renting his house.”

| "Without talking to me first?" |
“You’ve sorted it all out without talking to me first?” demands Sheryl, “This is a major decision that affects us all!” He mentions the garden, which she points out is not much of a garden. “You’ve taken a huge decision without consulting me! I know the flat is too small, but I’d like to move out of Cwmderi, so Esther has plenty of room!”

Eifion is at the shop flat, trying to be diplomatic with Jim; “I know it’s difficult, and it upsets me too, but now I’ve moved back to Penrhewl, I’ve decided to rent out the house.”

Jim asks why that should concern him. Eifion continues, “Courtney’s room needs to be cleared out – do you think you can do that?”

| Eileen tries to encourage Jim |
Eileen assures him that they understand, and tells Jim that sorting out her stuff will help him to move on; “Having her things here with us will remind us of the good times.”
Jim simply growls, “No!” and walks away.

Hywel hands Sheryl details of all the properties that Tomos ac Ellis have on their books;

she demands, “What’s going on, Hywel? Why do you want to move all of a sudden? There’s something wrong, and I want to know what – is it anything to do with Kevin?”

He replies that he cannot stand living in the place where Kevin attacked her; “We sleep above this room!”

She points out that wherever they live, she will continue to work here, and asks if he appreciates just how hard that is.

“Running away is easy, but I’ve had to learn to live with all the recollections of what happened. Moving house, or salon, won’t solve anything!”

Cadno’s mind is made up; “We have no choice, then – we have to do it ourselves, we can’t wait for Jim. Hywel wants to move in soon, so shall I have a word with Eileen?” Eifion does not think that she can sort this problem out.

Eileen has decided, “As it’s too much for you, I’m going over there to clear out the room for you. I promise I’ll be careful – I’ll pack it all up,and bring it back here.

“It’s not that I can’t face clearing the room,” Jim exclaims, “I don’t want to clear it! Courtney’s room is to stay exactly how it is! It’s the only place that hasn’t changed since she died – and nobody can take that away from me!”

Hywel apologises to Sheryl, but she replies, “Kevin is a cloud over all of us – but he’s not the only past I have!

Ed goes into the shop for a paper; “I hope you’re behaving yourself!” warns Eileen, “I’ve got enough on my plate at the moment without worrying about Sioned. Have you been drinking? It’s lunchtime, and you’re supposed to be working. Whatever your problem is, you can’t solve it by drinking – or by being horrible to Sioned!

Cadno arrives and asks if she is all right; Eileen dissolves into tears and sobs, “I’ve just had enough! Sioned and Ed are arguing,

“and I don’t know where to start with Jim.”

Cadno advises that he needs professional help, and suggests Eileen should not give him a chance to refuse.

Siôn and Iolo are eating in the Deri when Mathew approaches, asking for a favour.

He wants them to delay giving Eifion the safety certificate, so he has a chance to find somewhere else to live.

Iolo is clear, “Sorry, I run an honest business – and anyway, Eifion already has the certificate.”

| Hywel is not renting the house after all |
Meanwhile, Hywel has returned to tell Eifion that he will not in fact be renting the house. “I wish you had talked with Sheryl before wasting our time,” moans Eifion.

Mathew has just come in and asks if this means he can stay a bit longer;

Eifion and Cadno reply, in unison, “No!”

Back at their flat, Eileen finds that Jim has not moved since she left. She suggests that they go for a walk, but he refuses;

“Well, turn on the television then – Pointless is on.”

| "Everything is pointless" |
“Everything is pointless at the moment,” groans Jim.

| "You have to get a grip on your life!" |
Eileen, close to breaking-point, stresses that they cannot go on like this, and that he has to get a grip on his life. He proposes going back to bed.

| "I'm trying to be strong for both of us" |
“I’ve been trying to be strong for both of us, but I can’t do it any longer!” Eileen insists, “You have to pick yourself up from this dark place, and the first step is to clear Courtney’s room. I know it’s difficult.”

Jim replies, “I can’t move on without her – I’ll never get over this!” Eileen demands whether she means anything to Jim, and tells him he has something worth fighting for. With time and a helping hand, she is adamant that he will get through it
“I really don’t know if I will!” he says, but she reminds him there is professional help available.

“You don’t have any choice – I’ve already booked an appointment to see a private counsellor next week!” he is informed.

Ed returns home; “Where have you been?” Sioned demands, “You were supposed to be working! I had to get another driver to cover for you!”

Ed explains that he has been in the Deri, thinking, and that he cannot do this any more. “After last night, I can’t keep quiet, and I nearly told your Mam earlier!”

| "Go on then – tell them!" |
Sioned calmly answers him, “Tell her then – you can tell Kelly and Tyler as well. Tell them what you couldn’t last night – I’m sure they’ll believe every word!

“The door’s over there – just be man enough to walk through it!”
She laughs and walks away;
