as Colin is not working today, Dani decides he can organise it – nothing extravagant, just sandwiches, cakes and pop. Colin has little choice other than to comply.

Diane, wearing curlers, is sitting on the bed, when Dai brings her a cup of tea; “Are you going in to work today?” he asks, and receives no reply.

He continues, “How long is this nonsense going on? You answer a few questions, but don’t really talk, you turn your back on me in bed, and don’t even say goodnight. Do you know what? I haven’t got anything to say to you either, not if you carry on like this!

When Dai arrives at APD, Jason is on the phone

Jason reports that he has been asked by Cadno to move out of the farm, Sara is not answering his calls, and what with her and Mam, he is not very popular.

“Your Mam is driving me crazy!” roars Dai, “I’ve never seen her like this – she’s making my life hell!”
Jason is regretting the things he said to her,

and Dai proposes that they both go to Bryntirion to apologise to her, so that things can get back to normal. Jason predicts, “Mam is stubborn, and getting her to apologise will not be child’s play,” but Dai points out that he has nowhere to sleep at the moment, so there is nothing to lose.

Gwyneth arrives, bringing a get-well card from Gwern for Garry;

When they have left, Garry asks Iolo, “You’re still not happy with this, are you? I hope you’re not going to cause trouble for me – we have to consider Gwern in all this, and for him to be happy, his mother needs to be, and she is, from what I can see. Siôn is a good influence on her and Gwern.”

Upstairs, Jim is looking at some of Courtney’s belongings when Dai and Jason arrive; Eileen protests that they cannot just barge in,

Jim assures him that he has done nothing, but Dai ploughs on, regardless,

“You threatened her before, on DJ’s wedding day!” He explains to the baffled Jason, “He lost the plot and locked Diane and Ricky in APD!”

At this point, Ricky comes in and emphasises that the whole episode was a misunderstanding.

Jason interrupts, “Can we just focus on Mam? Something has happened to her – her clothes have gone but she has left her phone!”

Eileen answers, “Perhaps trying to get away from this bully! Anyway, it’s nothing to do with Jim. He’s feeling a lot better now, as he has been to grief counselling.”

Ricky asks if Dai is going to say sorry. Dai mutters something and then goes.
When Dai and Jason have gone, Ricky enquires if Jim is all right.

Ricky picks up a necklace from the jewellery box, recalling when he gave it to Courtney, and adding that it was mentioned in her diary.

Back at Bryntirion, Dai is on the phone to Glenys, who it appears is ‘on the pop’ earlier than usual.

He then insists they have to call the police,

but Jason says they will just laugh. “She’s been gone hours – she could be anywhere!” wails Dai, and then they both simultaeously think of, “passport!”

Dai checks, and his is in its usual place, alone.

Jason suspects that she may have gone to the house in Spain, or to Emma’s, but there is no point in phoning, as she will not have reached anywhere yet.
