At Llwyncelyn there is a persistent banging on the door, and when Gaynor opens it, Britt bursts in, demanding, “What’s this? The e-mail about Chester that went to every parent in the school?”

After taking a look, Gaynor tells her that this was only sent to the staff. Britt rages, “You said some terrible things about Chester,

| "I shall be making an official complaint!" |
“and I shall be making an official complaint about you!” She stalks out.

At the chip shop flat, Chester cannot believe that his mother went to see Gaynor, but Colin points out that she cares about him. Catrin pipes up, “She cares more about him than us,”

and shows him the comments made on CnocCnoc about him.

| "I'm not letting her get away with it!" |
Britt returns, announcing that she did not give Gaynor a chance to say anything; “Now I’m going to phone the Education Authority – I’m not going to let her get away with it, am I?”

| Chester is in anguish |
Chester despairs.

| "I'm your new partner, Dai!" |
As DJ eats his breakfast at Bryntirion, Jason and Sara arrive to impart the good news to Dai that Jason is his new partner, but specify one condition. “I shall worry about Awyr Iach, with me leaving and Sara having the baby – we need someone we can trust.”

| "We need a trainee manager at Awyr Iach" |
Sara adds that they need a trainee manager.
Dai comments that Diane will not be too happy with that title, but they point out they had DJ in mind. He says, “Gone behind my back again, have you?

| "Why would you want me to work for you?" |
“Why would you want me to work for you?” Sara insists that he is not afraid of hard work, and he is family. Dai remarks that it is easier than plastering.

| "I'll be there for the first three months" |
Sara will be there for the first three months or so, and Anita will be there to help; if there is any problems he can talk to Jason.

| "Do it for me, boy!" |
DJ does not know what to say, but Dai pleads, “If you won’t do it for yourself, then do it for me!”

| "All right – but it's only temporary, mind" |
At this, DJ agrees, stressing that it is only temporary.

| "It doesn't matter what I think" |
Gaynor is in the shop, trying to convince Colin it was all a terrible mistake; “It doesn’t matter what I think,” he replies, “Chester was worried about going back to school, even before this mess.”

| Gaynor is not popular with Vicky, either |
Vicky comes in, surprised that Colin is still talking to her after what had happened. “It’s all that Mam and Mark are talking about,” she says, and when Gaynor maintains that it is none of her business, she protests,

“My little brother is at that school, so it is my business!” Gaynor leaves.

| "Hey Chester, how was jail?" |
Four school pupils are by the bus stop when Chester leaves the flat, and subject him to jeers; “Hey Chester, how was jail?” Britt threatens to sort them out if they do not leave him alone.

Chester does not want her tagging along, as she is a constant embarrassment,

and Catrin still is angry that he is getting all the attention.

Gwyneth arrives late at Awyr Iach, where they are about to have a staff meeting.

“There are going to be changes at Awyr Iach,” announces Sara, and they suspect this means someone will lose their job. “Jason and I are going to be partners at APD, so Jason will be working full-time there.”

| "More responsibility for us, then?" |
“So more responsibility for us?” anticipates Gwyneth, but is told there will be no changes,
 |
| "Meet you new trainee manager, DJ" |
except for the fact that DJ will be joining them as a trainee manager, to run the place while she is on maternity leave. This does not go down well with Gwyneth
 |
| "I don't know how I could be so clumsy!" |
At school, Gaynor does not know how she could be so clumsy, especially when she was trying for a new job. Ffion assures her that she would have alerted Gaynor, but her internet was down;

| "Think of how poor Chester must be feeling" |
“Just think how poor Chester must be feeling!” she adds, and just then he comes along the corridor.

| Ffion assures him of her support |
Ffion sympathetically tells him, “If you have any problems as a result of the e-mail, come and see me straightaway!” Gaynor chides her for mentioning the e-mail, but Ffion says, “We can’t ignore it, can we?”

| Everyone is looking at, and talking about, him |
Chester walks to his locker, and everyone turns to watch him; Catrin is nearby, and tell him to ignore them,

but he snaps, “Don’t pretend you care!” and walks away.

| "All depends who you're related to!" |
At Awyr Iach, Gwyneth moans, “I can’t believe they just gave him the job! Some of us have been here from the start and know how the place works – but it all depends on who you’re related to!”

When she informs Sara that the job should have been advertised, the reply is, “If you’re not happy – there’s the door!” Gwyneth points out that she cannot be sacked for having an opinion,

but Sara reminds her, “You can be for chatting instead of working!”

| "They have no choice if a complaint has been made" |
As Ffion is about to start a lesson, Gaynor comes to tell her that the Education Authority have phoned, wanting a meeting. Ffion replies that they have no choice if a complaint has been made.

| "Can we have a chat at lunchtime?" |
“Great – my career is over!” panics Gaynor, “Can we have a chat at lunchtime, as I need to talk about this?” Ffion is not eager, but eventually agrees to spare half an hour

| "Another investigation – is that what you want?" |
In the Deri, Garry says that it would have been better for Chester if Britt had simply ignored the e-mail; “Another investigation – is that what you want? Do you think he’s ready for that? You’ve dragged the Education Authority into this mess – you should have kept calm and thought a bit more.”

| New partner Jason looks happy |
Dai and Jason come in for a celebration pint, advising Britt that Jason is the new partner at APD, which title he thinks should be changed. Dai states, “Jim has left – and good riddance!” When Britt suggests he should have more sympathy, as Jim has lost a child,

Dai adds, “There’s no excuse for what he did!” but does not elucidate any further.

Jason looks puzzled; “Is there anything you and Mam haven’t told me?” he enquires.

Chester and Catrin are home for lunch, and Colin assures him that the worst part is now over.

Garry arrives, telling Chester, “You’re like a son to me – if there’s anything you want to talk about. I know I’ve let you down lately, but I’m going to make it up to you.”

and Colin thinks it is time that he left; uncharacteristically meekly, Garry does so.
In the Deri, Vicky tells Jason that Awyr Iach will not be the same without him.

“I’ll only be next door,” he reminds her, “Sara is all right – and DJ is a teddy bear – a few cwtches, and he’ll give you whatever you want!”

Nearby, Siôn is trying to placate Gwyneth, “I know you’re disappointed, but do you really want to work closely with Sara?” but she still complains that it is unfair,

and Vicky does not want to listen to her going on about it.

| "Another surprise for you" |
Sara comes across, saying that she has another surprise for them; “Your grandfather’s uncle’s cousin is coming to help us pack,” snarls Gwyneth. Sara continues that as they did not have a proper Christmas party –

“Because you were too mean to pay!” interjects Gwyneth, but Sara goes on to say they will have an evening in the Deri next Thursday, with a bit of food and free drinks all evening. This time Gwyneth groans, “She’s trying to buy us!”

| "Is she always this awkward?" |
DJ asks Sara if she is always this awkward, and Sara explains she has been living with Siôn too long.

| "You could withdraw your application" |
In the café, Ffion suggests, “There is one way out – fall on your sword and withdraw your application.”

| "I'm not simply going to give up" |
Gaynor replies that she does not intend to just give up. Ffion points out, “There will be other jobs, when everyone has forgotten about this – or you could move away and start again.”
Gaynor remarks that it sounds as if Ffion is trying to get rid of her; “Why would I do that? I’m trying to be a friend,” she insists.

Garry comes into the café, looks at the two of them and comments, “It’s all right for some – having lunch while Chester is breaking his heart! As if an apology makes everything all right!”

He fixes his gaze on Gaynor; “You know I’m going to be one of the governors of the new school – so I’ll be on the panel who chooses the head. I’m going to make sure you’re asked some awkward questions –

Catrin tracks down Chester, who is sitting in the doorway in the back street; “Get lost – tell Mam if you want to – I don’t care!” he snarls at her.

She apologises for giving him a hard time, being annoying and making things worse, but she is worried about him.

Gwyneth looks at the Ashurst family at the bar and grumbles, “Look, the Cwmderi mafia!” She criticises Siôn for not supporting her and walks out.

Gaynor heads back to school, but not before being given a dirty look by Garry.

and Ffion appears to be quietly confident.
Gaynor goes to the chip shop flat to ask Colin for a favour; “I’m worried that I’m not going to get the head’s job. Garry threatened to use the e-mail against me. I thought you could talk to him – use your family influence.”
