Jason feels awkward at Penrhewl
Jason has been staying at Penrhewl, where he feels awkward;
"Sure Cadno's all right about this?"
“Are you sure Cadno is all right about me being here?” he asks Eifion, who replies that everyone is in her way in the mornings.   “Sara’s not answering my calls,” Jason says,
"Just give it time"
and Eifion expects that she needs more time.
Sara looks again at the scan
Sara looks at the baby scan photos and is about to cry, but then dials a number;
"I'd like to know the sex of the baby"
“I came in on Friday for a scan, but I’ve changed my mind – I’d like to know the sex of the baby.   Can I make an appointment to find out?”
She appears disappointed
She appears to be disappointed by the reply.
Kath is frying bacon . . .
At Maes-y-Deri, Kath is frying bacon for Dol,
. . . but Dol cannot manage any more
who cannot manage to eat any more.   Debbie wonders, “Since when have you two been so close?   Last week you hated each other!”
"It's good, my two Grans being friends"
Vicky likes her two Grans being friends,
"She's not your Gran!"
but Dol points out that Kath is not her Gran.
Mark arrives for some sustenance
Vicky and Dol have to go to Awyr Iach to finish the Afallon order, but before they leave, Mark comes in on his round and is delighted to find the rashers of bacon, making himself a butty.
Kath tries a surreptitious dip into Dol's bag
While Dol’s attention is diverted, Kath’s hand dives into her bag, but Dol catches her.   “Give it a rest, all this sucking up to me – there’s no need,” says Dol, “I’m not going to leave you in the lurch.   You’re coping with less tablets already and doing really well.
"You're doing my head in!"
Enough of this crawling – you’re doing my head in!”
Mark now has the strength to complete his round
When Mark returns to his round, sandwich in hand,
One more tablet is rationed out to Kath
Dol doles out a single tablet and warns Kath against trying any nonsense.
"Jason's very upset!"
Eifion hangs around by Tomos ac Ellis until Sara arrives at the Antur;  “Jason is staying at Penrhewl, and he’s very upset,” he tells her.
"Good!"
She simply replies, “Good!” and slams the door in his face.
"I might be interested"
Ffion is looking at the “To Let” sign on Eifion’s house;  he asks if she knows anyone who might be interested.   She tells him, “Me, maybe – I’ve lived there before and it’s a nice house.   Is it furnished?”
"Lunchtime OK?"
He confirms that it is, and they arrange a viewing at lunchtime.
The house is in a state of disarray
Eifion goes inside, sees the untidy state
"Mathew!   Get out of that bed!"
and shouts for Mathew, who comes downstairs,
"Is there a fire or something?"
asking if there is a fire or something.   “You need a fire up your backside!” Eifion exclaims, “The first viewing is at lunchtime,
"What – today?"
so I want the place spotless, and open the window – it stinks in here!   Gethin’s partner, Ffion is coming,
"And show her that storage space"
and make sure to show her the storage space upstairs.”   Mathew looks far from enthusiastic.
As there is a delivery expected at Penrhewl, he leaves Mathew to show Ffion around, unsupervised;
Mathew is plotting
Mathew smirks.
"How are you, Sara?"
At Awyr Iach, DJ asks Sara how she is, so she assumes that the story is now public.   He adds, “Dad told me, and Diane is in pieces!”
"Diane hasn't spoken to me"
Sara complains that Diane has not been in touch with her.   DJ enquires what is to happen to Vicky, and is told he will see shortly.
"Come over here, Vicky!"
Sara calls Vicky over
"Thank you for sleeping with my husband!"
and tells her, “I want to thank you for sleeping with my husband on Thursday – you don’t have a job any more!”
"Nothing happened!"
Of course Vicky insists that nothing happened, and that Jason just needed someone to talk to, as he was worried about becoming a father, and had been for weeks.   “Oh, right – you’ve been at it for weeks!” shrieks Sara.
"You can't accuse me of that!"
Dol comes over to join in, and Vicky reports that she has been accused of sleeping with Jason;
"I knew I hadn't dreamed it!"
Dol exclaims, “I knew I hadn’t dreamed it – Jason was all over her like a rash!”
"You were smashed on the sofa!"
Vicky is outraged;  “You were smashed on the sofa – you didn’t see anything!   It was only one kiss – and he kissed me!   Then I threw him out!”
"Get out – and don't come back!"
Sara’s opinion has not changed;  “Get out – and don’t come back!”   Seeing Dol’s reaction to this, she adds, “Do you want your P45 as well?”
"What came over you?"
Jason is on the phone in APD when Vicky marches in, demanding, “What came over you?   I’ve lost my job!   Sara’s fuming – and I haven’t done anything!   Why did you have to tell her?”
"I was only trying to do the right thing!"
He maintains that he tried to do the right thing.
Vicky continues, “All I did was to be a friend to you – you have to sort this out!
Vicky threatens court proceedings
I want my job back, or I will take you to court for unfair dismissal!”
A call from Sara
Jason receives a phone call;  it is Sara,
"We can't go on like this"
who says, “We can’t go on like this – come over at lunchtime, and we’ll have a chat.”   He appears optimistic.
"Is it true about Jason and Vicky?"
In the café, Mathew asks Debbie, “Is it true about Jason and Vicky having an affair?   That’s what people are saying.”
"Stop spreading rumours!"
She warns him against spreading rumours.
"Have you heard about Jason and our Vicky?"
Debbie asks Kath, when she comes in, if she has heard this rumour, which she has not.
"Does Dol come in here at lunchtime?"
What she actually wants is not know whether Dol comes into the café at lunchtime;  again Debbie is at a loss to understand their sudden friendship.
"No, she goes to the Deri"
She replies that Dol goes to the Deri.
"I'm going home!"
In Penrhewl’s kitchen, Eifion finds Jason packing his bag, as he has spoken to Sara and is going home.   Eifion advises that he should find out what she wants to say first,
"I wouldn't be too hasty, if I were you!"
but Jason is convinced, “I know her – she loses her temper, but always comes to her senses!
"I owe you a couple of pints"
Thanks for everything, Eifion, I owe you a couple of pints.”
"That storage cupboard is incredible"
Ffion is impressed with her inspection of the house;  “It’s changed a lot since I lived here.   That storage cupboard on the landing is incredible – it will hold all Arwen’s toys, as well as shoes and bed linen.”
"Shame about the damp"
Mathew tries to cool her enthusiasm;  “Shame about the damp in the small bedroom – it’s not healthy for a child!”   Ffion is not unduly worried by this, and envisages giving the place a coat of paint.
"A big fridge could go over there"
In the kitchen she predicts that a big fridge could be put over there;  “Yes, tell Eifion I want it!” she enthuses,
"Tell him today, so no-one else gets it!"
“Tell him today, so no-one else gets it!
"I can't wait to tell Gethin!"
I can’t wait to tell Gethin – he can roll out of bed into work.”
"I knew you'd see sense"
As Jason returns to number 9, he tells Sara, “I knew you’d see sense,” but she assures him that he is not forgiven;
"I may have forgiven you for cheating once, but . . ."
even Dol saw what happened on Thursday and confirmed it.
"Dol couldn't confirm her own name!"
“She couldn’t confirm her own name on Thursday night!” shouts Jason.
Sara goes on, “Vicky said you’d been sniffing round her for months, with some sob story about becoming a father!”   He insists that he is worried, and confesses that the Downs Syndrome is an extra concern.
"You want a child without DS with Vicky!"
Sara yells, “So you want a child without DS with Vicky!   I don’t know what you’re thinking!”
"I don't want anything or anyone else!"
He attempts to assure her that she and the baby are his life, and that he does not want anything or anyone else,
"I don't believe you, Jason!"
but she will not believe him.
"Congratulations on the new job"
Eifion comes into the Deri and congratulates Gaynor on her new job, but points out that Bobi will start at the school next year, so he will be keeping an eye on her.
Then he asks Mathew how the viewing went,
"Ffion didn't seem keen"
and is told, “She didn’t seem keen – just said she would let you know.   I mentioned the storage and everything , but that’s how it goes sometimes.”
Eifion thinks that she sounded keen earlier
Eifion is puzzled.
"Liquid lunch for me – pint please!"
Dol and DJ come in for their lunch;  DJ orders a bowl of cawl, and Dol a pint.
Dol insists upon paying
Kath has been lurking nearby and pays for Dol’s drink.
"No grovelling – remember?"
Dol is insistent, “Stop it – I can pay for my own drinks – no grovelling, remember?   Anyway, it’s only lunchtime – you had the tablet only a couple of hours ago!”
"Make Kath's an orange juice"
Then she tells Mathew that Kath will have an orange juice, and mutters to her, “Drink and drugs do not mix!”
"I'll do everything I can to make matters right!"
Despite Jason’s promises that he will do everything he can to put matters right, Sara is unmoved;
"You've ruined everything!"
You’ve ruined everything – nothing will be the same again!   You’re obviously not ready – I know you’re the baby’s father, but I can’t rely on you.
"Take your bag back to Penrhewl!"
You might as well take your bag back to Penrhewl –
Jason is despairing
I don’t want you here any more!”
Ffion hands over a box of chocolates
Ffion apologises to Gaynor for being a bad loser and presents her with chocolates.   Gaynor advises that the Deputy Head’s post will be advertised before the end of the week;
She appears to fancy the Deputy Head's job
“I hope you’ll apply for it,” she says.
Jason unexpectedly returns
Eifion is giving Bobi and Arthur their tea when Jason returns, reporting, “Things didn’t go as well as expected.   I wish I’d listened to your advice –
"She doesn't want me back at all!"
she doesn’t want me back at all!”
Bobi brings some sandwiches from the table;
"Here you are, Jason"
“Here you are, Jason,” he says,
Jason bursts into tears
and Jason bursts into tears.
