She starts reminiscing, “We had some good times here, just the two of us.

“I remember when he got stuck in the bathroom window – he screamed, and said he was trying to catch a pigeon on the roof. Then he spilled glue on the floor over there – he was naughty sometimes.”
In view of her fond memories of the place, Hywel wonders about the move to the house.

“So many horrible things happened to you there – I’m afraid they’ll haunt you!”

Sheryl replies that they have never gone away, but that it is so long now – and worse things have happened since then. “I’m a different person now – Garry and I have moved on –

As Ed examines his injured foot, Sioned comments, “You’re a real baby, aren’t you?

“Don’t try to make me feel guilty – it was an accident! I’m having a day off today – it will be nice to have some time to myself without anyone moaning.

She hands him the money,

adding, “Don’t pretend to limp in public – there’s nothing worse than a man constantly seeking attention!”

In the café, Kelly is updating Tyler on the situation; “I’ve told him that I’ll call the cops if he doesn’t do this course – it’s to help people confront their problems and stop them beating their wives.”

Ed comes downstairs and walks glumly out of the café.
Tyler wonders how he has the nerve to show his face, and maintains that Sioned must be very brave;

“Brave or stupid!” is Kelly’s reply, “He’s knocked all the confidence out of her.”

| "You're stealing that house from us!" |
Ffion sees Sheryl carrying a box across to Eifion’s house and shouts to her, “I want a word with you! You’re stealing that house from us!”

Sheryl insists that it was simply a misunderstanding, but it is too late now, and she does not want to quarrel.

Ffion replies, “You might have done us a favour – I wasn’t really happy with the house. We’ve decided to stay at Cysgod y Glyn until we find something better.” Sheryl advises her that it might be a good idea to speak to Hywel.

Ed emerges from the shop with the chocolates, and Eileen enquires, “How are things between you and Sioned? I’m keeping an eye on you, remember,

“and if I see any sign that you’re hitting her again . . .”

At this point, Kelly comes across and drags Ed towards number 10, telling him, “This can’t wait when my mate is in danger!”

Once inside, she demands, “Have you made that appointment yet?” and gets out her phone.

“I’m not the problem!” he protests, bursting into tears, “She’s been abusing me for months – I can’t do anything right! Please don’t phone the police – I’m so scared – I don’t know what to do!” Kelly reminds him that he is not in the pantomime now.

Ffion marches into Eifion’s house, shouting that they have stolen the place from her.

Hywel responds, “I don’t want to be personal, but I doubt you had any chance of buying this house. It wasn’t for sale, but Eifion preferred that option. We haven’t cheated you at all, but I admit we should have been more upfront.”

Sheryl adds, “That’s why I wanted you to talk to Hywel – we have to sell Cysgod y Glyn, and it will go on the market next week.”

“So you’re making us homeless twice!” squeals Ffion, “I gave notice on the flat because I thought we were moving here!” Sheryl suggests she could rent the salon flat, but Ffion dismisses this idea; “We want more room, not less!”
Hywel proposes that Ffion and Gethin could buy Cysgod y Glyn; “It would be nice for you to have first refusal.”

“Nice?” rages Ffion, “Tell you what – stuff your flat!” and storms out.

Kelly advises Ed, “That’s what domestic abusers do – blame the other person!”

Ed insists that is exactly what Sioned is doing, but she demands, “If you’re telling the truth, where are the bruises?” He replies that she stepped on his foot,

He asks if Kelly has seen Sioned’s heels, and adds, “All I did was suggest she went on that course.”
Kelly asks why he did not stop her, as he is bigger and stronger than her; “Why didn’t you phone the cops? If that had been me, I would have been straight down the cop shop – no messing!

Ed tells her to mind her own business, so Kelly is convinced that what Sioned told her is true; “It’s not just physical abuse, is it? You’re abusing her emotionally, belittling her to make her feel as if she’s losing the plot. I know everything, and I’m not scared of you – you’re not going to get away with it!”

Jim comes into the shop to apologise for his manner earlier;

Eileen was under the impression that he was getting better. He explains, “The grief counsellor said he wants me to take Courtney’s stuff with me to the appointment today.

“He says it will help me to open up about my feelings – although it sounds like mumbo-jumbo to me!” Eileen confirms that it is important to listen to the experts.
Ed walks past, with Tyler watching him. Eileen remarks to Jim that there is still no sign of Diane.

“Good – Dai will know what it’s like to lose someone!” snarls Jim,

and then apologises that he feels such anger sometimes. Eileen offers to come with him to the counselling but he is adamant, “This is something I have to do myself – see you later.”

On the phone, Ffion says, “I know, it’s our home! There’s no chance of being able to afford anywhere else. OK, look forward to seeing you tonight!”

Ffion returns to Hywel and Sheryl in more conciliatory mood, telling them that she has spoken to Gethin, and they would like to buy Cysgod y Glyn.

Hywel is pleased, and will get someone to value it; he is sure they can come to an agreement. Ffion adds, “I’ve got the interview for the Deputy Head’s job coming up, fingers crossed, and Gethin didn’t want to live across the road from the garage.” Sheryl says that Arwen is welcome to play in the garden any time;

Ed arrives and stands, silently, in the doorway. “You took your time!” she scolds him, and he tosses the chocolates down on the table.

Downstairs in the café, Kelly returns, and Gwen is angry that she has been left here on her own.

At that moment, Kelly is steeling herself to go upstairs to check on Sioned.

Sioned roughly pushes Ed on to the sofa; “Come on, Ed – what are you going to do? Nothing, as usual!”

She seizes her coffee mug and throws its scalding contents over Ed, cowering on the sofa.
