Cadno needs another hiding-place
Again, Cadno is deliberating where to hide those pills, and this time puts them in a box of cleaning materials under the sink.
Bobi is home from school . . .
Eifion brings Bobi home from school, and proudly displays a picture which he has painted;
. . . with his prize-winning picture
this is to be displayed in the hall of the new school.   It represents his memories, and won first prize.
He is given a hug by his mother
After studying it, Cadno says. “I get it now – this is you winning the egg and spoon race!” and gives her son a hug.
Iolo is planning ahead . . .
Iolo is looking online at baby things;  “Clothes, pushchairs, mobiles for the ceiling . . .”
. . . but Tyler thinks he is jumping the gun
Tyler thinks that this is not the right time, and points out that Kelly is not pregnant yet;  he warns against getting too excited, in case nothing happens.
"Tomorrow is the big day!"
Then Kelly arrives with some important news for them;  “According to my fertility app, tomorrow is the big day!”
Iolo is very uncomfortable
Iolo looks scared as she continues, “I’ve checked the charts, and we’ve got a really good chance tomorrow.”
"Should he eat anything special?"
Tyler enquires if Iolo should eat anything special, and is told that dark chocolate is very good, apparently.
Kelly is looking forward to it
“So I’ll come round about four o’clock tomorrow – so make sure you get good night’s sleep,” Kelly encourages Iolo, but he looks very apprehensive, especially when she tells him, “I’m looking forward to it!” and then leaves.
"She's not expecting me to . . . you know?"
“She’s not expecting me to . . . you know . . . sleep with her?” Iolo worries,
"You must be prepared, Iol!"
and Tyler jokes that he should be prepared for every eventuality.
"I didn't know he was going in for this competition"
While doing the ironing, Cadno admits that she did not know that Bobi was going in for this competition, and suggests that they should pay more attention to his work when he goes to the new community school.
"There's a meeting at the school later"
Eifion informs her there is a meeting about it later today, and she decides she might go.
She does not like the sound of such a large school
She is nevertheless doubtful if it is a good idea to have so many children on one site.
As she takes the ironing upstairs,
Eifion's coffee goes all over the picture . . .
Eifion reaches for his cup of coffee, but knocks it over, and the painting is saturated.
. . . and he tries to mop it up
Frantically, he tries to mop it up with a kitchen roll, but it is in vain.
In the shop, Siôn points out to Jim that the light in the fridge unit is out,
"It's all under control, Siôn"
and Jim replies that he has ordered a replacement bulb, assuring Siôn that he is on the case.
"The fridge is not working!"
Then Eileen comes in and is concerned to see that the fridge is not working;
"It wasn't plugged in properly!"
she quickly realises that the plug is not correctly in the socket, and that the food is starting to warm up, as it has probably been off since Jim was vacuuming last night.
She reprimands him and decides that the food will have to be disposed of,
"There's nothing wrong with the food"
even though he says there is nothing wrong with it,
"We can't afford to throw it away"
arguing that they cannot afford to throw food away.
"Why the long face, Siôn?"
In the café, Kelly brings Siôn his tea and wonders why he looks miserable;  “Being a parent never stops,” he tells her, “Macs and Arwen – being a grandfather isn’t simple either.”
"Well, about being a grandfather . . ."
Kelly sits down and begins, “I wanted to talk to you about being a grandfather – I know it’s Iolo’s place really, but I feel really weird that you don’t know.”
He wonders what she is about to say
Siôn looks confused,
"We're going to try for a baby – the three of us"
so she explains, “It’s complicated – Iolo and Tyler – and I – are going to try to have a baby.   And then we’re going to raise him, or her, together – the three of us.”
He surprises her by replying that he thinks it is an excellent idea,
Dai disapproves of this sort of behaviour
and gives her a kiss.   This is looked upon by Dai as improper, and he comments, “Is everyone snogging in the café this afternoon?
"Skinny latté – and a cream horn!"
“I will have a skinny latté – and a cream horn!”
"Why haven't you emptied the fridge?"
Eileen is angry when she comes in and finds the fridge is still half full;
"It's stupid, throwing out yoghurts!"
Jim insists that it is stupid throwing out yoghurts, as they will not go off in 24 hours.   She sternly pronounces that it is not worth the risk;
Eileen issues orders
“Throw it all out and restock the fridge – I mean it!”   Then she receives a phone call, and walks out of the shop.
Eifion has fish and chips for dinner tonight
As she reaches the chippy, Eifion rushes out and collides with her;  he explains that fish and chips is a treat for Bobi as he won the art competition.
"I taught Aaron to paint"
Chester, who happens to be nearby, remarks that Aaron won his year, adding that he taught him to paint.
Eifion has a proposition for Chester
“You’re a bit of an artist, are you,” Eifion asks, and wonders if Chester might copy the painting for him, promising that there would be a payment involved.
'The stud' relaxes at home
Kelly returns to number 7, and Tyler tells her that the stud is relaxing.
"I told your father about it"
“I saw your father earlier, and told him about our plans – I know it wasn’t my place to say, but . . .”
"Yes, I know – he sent me a text"
Iolo already knows as his father sent a text, wanting them to go to Y Felin to celebrate.   Kelly is relieved that they are not angry with her.
"I'm just . . . supplying the goods, aren't I?"
Iolo asks, rather awkwardly, “I’m just . . . supplying the goods, aren’t I?   You don’t expect us to . . .”
"Sleep together?   That would be really weird!"
Her assurance that this would be really weird puts his mind at rest.
She warns him not to do too much celebrating tonight;
She finds the very idea quite laughable
“Sleep together – what possessed you, Iolo?” she chuckles as she leaves the house.
"Look – best before today"
In the shop, Dai notices that the sell-by date on a pack of chops is today, so Jim replies that he can have them for half price.   Diane has taken Linda to the cinema,
"I can eat what I want tonight"
so Dai is able to eat whatever he likes.
Chester the artist is at work
At Penrhewl, Chester is just completing his copy of Bobi’s painting, and tells Eifion that he cannot hurry art.
He produces a passable copy
He puts the finishing touches to his work,
"But will Bobi notice the difference?"
and Eifion is anxious that Bobi may notice the difference.   Chester considers it is amusing to worry about schoolwork, and suspects that Eifion is scared of Cadno.
"No, not five – fifty!"
When asked how much Eifion owes him, Chester holds up five fingers;  this does not indicate £5, but rather £50.   “You’re joking!” roars Eifion,
"You're nuts if you think I'm paying that!"
“You’re nuts if you think I’m paying you £50 for an hour’s work!”   Chester immediately tears his picture in half and places it in the bin, following which he walks out.   Eifion decides that, in that case, he will have to do it himself.
"We were going to tell you  – when the time was right"
At Y Felin, Iolo tells his father that they were going to inform him, at the right time, and thought he had enough on his plate with Macs.   Siôn considers that it is something to celebrate, and appreciates that Iolo should not have any alcohol;
"No alcohol – he's in training!"
he is, “In training,” as Tyler puts it.
They advise Siôn that they discussed lots of options, and this was the best one.
"My chance to be a proper grandfather"
He replies that this is his chance to be a proper grandfather, and Iolo is confident that Kelly will not be difficult, as Ffion has been.
Cadno looks in the bin . . .
Cadno returns to the farm, and, tossing some rubbish into the bin, sees Bobi’s painting, plus another torn in half;  she looks puzzled,
. . . and deduces that something is going on
then it dawns upon her that something is going on.
A delicious aroma from the chops, sizzling in the pan
Dai is equipped with his apron, and is frying the chops,
Dai can hardly wait to taste them  (Pork, judging by the apple sauce)
looking forward eagerly to his meal.
"Have you got it all in writing?"
Siôn asks about the legal side of the arrangement, but Iolo suspects he is just pouring cold water on the idea.
"What if Kelly went back on her word?"
His father is surprised they have not got a formal agreement in black and white, as then everyone would know where they stand.   “What if Kelly goes back on her word, once the baby comes?” he asks,
"We trust her, Dad!"
but they reply that they trust her.   Siôn adds, “Or what if you two split up?”
Iolo walks out
Iolo has had enough of this, and gets up to leave, followed by Tyler.
"Where is Bobi's picture?"
When Cadno returns to the kitchen, Eifion is now sitting on the sofa;  she reports that the meeting at the school went well, and that she had a long chat with Gaynor.   “She is looking forward to seeing Bobi’s picture – where is it, by the way?”
He does not seem keen to show her . . .
Eifion reluctantly retrieves it from underneath the sofa,
. . . but she is insistent
and she demands to see it.
"You've done a pretty good job, but . . ."
After a cursory glance, she admits, “You’ve done a pretty good job, but Bobi will know it’s not his!”
She retrieves the other two versions
She backs up her allegation by removing the two other pictures from the bin.   He has no alternative but to confess what happened, and that he got Chester over to help.
"They're using a digital copy of the picture"
Smiling, Cadno reveals that it will be a digital copy which goes up in the new school, and shows it to him on her phone.
"All that effort and expense for nothing!"
He complains that he has been to all this effort and expense for nothing;  “At least we know now that Bobi did not get his artistic talent from you!” she tells him.
"Dad's right, isn't he?"
At number 7, Iolo is rather subdued;  “Dad’s right, isn’t he?   The reality of the whole idea is kicking in,” he says,
"We're not likely to succeed first time"
but Tyler answers that they are not likely to succeed first time.   “Which puts more pressure on next time, and the time after that!” Iolo fears,
"You'll be fine tomorrow"
but is urged not to worry about tomorrow, as he will be fine.
Dai, however, is feeling definitely not fine
Dai is vomiting into the kitchen sink,
He staggers painfully across the kitchen . . .
and seems to be suffering from considerable stomach pains;
. . . and subsides into his chair
he collapses into his chair, and clutches at his chest.
