11 September 2017

Mark reaches for the remote control . . .
Mark comes home from his round, switches on the television, and totally ignores the report about a homeless shelter;
. . . finds the Pringles . . .
he finds a packet of Pringles in the kitchen cupboard and sits down on the sofa.
. . . and then has a tremendous shock
Only then does he look at the screen, and is very shocked by what he sees.
Sara has packed every conceivable item
Sara has packed an enormous amount of stuff for Ifan when he goes to Elinor’s;  Jason remarks,
"That's her job, looking after babies"
“I thought she’d have all the tools – that is her job, looking after babies.”
"This is no time for weakness"
Sara is tearful, not wanting to leave the child, but realises that this is no time for weakness.   “I have to be a good mother and a strong businesswoman!” she tells him, I shall have to take time off to take Ifan to speech therapy and things.”
"If anyone can do this, you can"
Jason tells her, “Stop worrying – if anyone can do this, you can.”   Then he wonders where Ifan actually is;
"Ifan, are you in there?"
“He’s not under this pile, is he?”
Mark shows Kelly the programme . . .
In the café, Kelly has just served Llinos with her tea, when Mark shows her the news item on the laptop.   She looks, but insists, “I’m not interested in a  homeless shelter in wherever.”
. . . pointing out a familar figure
Mark tells her it is in Caernarfon, and points out a figure in the background;  “It’s Ed!” he exclaims,
"But he's dead!"
but Kelly protests that Ed is dead.   On closer investigation however, she is forced to admit that it is him.   “That’s good news, isn’t it?” Mark demands.
"How long does it take to get to Caernarfon?"
“What, that he’s homeless in North Wales?” says Kelly, “And he looks half-dead?”   She takes off her apron and enquires, “How long does it take to get to Caernarfon?   That woman might know him, Mark – Ed was a friend – I can’t let him down this time.   I’ll have to hire a car.”
"Not a word to you-know-who!"
Mark tells her that she can borrow his car, but she warns him not to say a word to anyone – “Especially you-know-who!”   She dashes out of the café.
Megan tracks down the contractor
In the Deri, Jason is doing some carpentry when Megan tracks him down, wondering why he has not started on the work at her house as promised.   “I’ve been waiting for you since eight this morning!” she moans.
"Sorry, can't start until tomorrow"
He explains that he has an emergency job here, so he cannot start on her house until tomorrow.
"My house should be given priority!"
Predictably, she insists, “My house should be given priority!” and is not happy with having to wait until tomorrow.
"I left him without crying"
Sara comes in and reports that she managed to leave Ifan without crying;  “He has to get used to being with other people.
"Oh, breaking into the equine market"
“Right, I’m off to Cwrtmynach’s Autumn Show – there will be a lot of horses there – I’m hoping to find a new market there.”   Jason enquires if they are breaking into the exclusive equine market.
"You could be a bit more supportive"
“I want to say I left Ifan because I found a new, exciting market for Awyr Iach!” she exclaims, “You could be a bit more supportive – see you later.”
Mark watches the programme again
In the café, Mark watches the programme again, where a volunteer at the shelter, who works at the castle is being interviewed, and Ed, wearing overalls, is counting his change in the background.
Megan almost collapses . . .
Megan comes in and stumbles at the counter, so Mark helps her to a chair
. . . and Gwen brings a glass of water
and Gwen brings a glass of water.   Megan explains that she felt rather light-headed,
She tells of her troubles with APD
and tells Mark about APD, who were supposed to start work today on her floor, but there was no sign of anyone.   She found Jason in the Deri, doing some work there.
"Don't let it make you ill"
“Having work done is stressful, but don’t let it make you ill,” Mark warns, and she thinks she should get someone else to do it instead, wondering if he would do it, as the carpet is already up, and she maintains that it is only a matter of ‘taking a pickaxe to the floor’.
"You've done building work before"
“You would be doing me a great favour – you have done building work before!” she goes on,
"But it didn't end well"
but Mark points out that did not end well.   When she mentions that she will pay the price which APD quoted, £150, cash,
The thought of money changes his mind
his attitude changes and they shake hands on the deal.
Kelly is determined to track down Ed . . .
Kelly has already reached Caernarfon, and is heading towards the castle;
. . . and heads for the castle
she looks at the photo, taken from the programme, on her phone.
"I've burst a pipe at Megan's!"
At the Deri, Jason has completed the construction of the small cupboard when Mark bursts in, reporting that he has burst a pipe at Megan’s;  “I didn’t know there was a water pipe under the floor!” he yells,
Eifion finds it quite funny . . .
and Eifion looks very amused.
. . . as they rush off to put matters right
Jason grabs his toolbox and the two of them rush off.
"I saw you on the telly"
In Caernarfon, Kelly goes into the castle and speaks to the girl who was interviewed;  “Hiya, Chloe, I saw you on the telly,” says Kelly and shows the picture which includes Ed.
"Ed's been missing for five months"
“His name’s Ed – he’s been missing for months, since March to be precise.   Do you know him?   He was there when you did the interview.”   Chloe replies that she does not know him, and asks if Kelly has been looking for him for long.
"He disappeared off a cliff"
“No, because I thought he was dead,” is the reply, “Then I saw him on the programme and I came straight up here to find him.   He disappeared – off a cliff!   But he’s obviously still alive, isn’t he?”   Can you direct me to the shelter – perhaps someone there will know him.”
Chloe says she does not know anything
Chloe gets Kelly to write down her phone number, and she will go to the centre;  “They know me – maybe I could find out something for you.”   Kelly does so, adding the address when she is staying.
"What have you done to your head?"
Sara arrives home to find that Jason has injured his head;
"Mark 'Liability' Jones!"

“Mark Liability’ Jones!” he snarls, “He left a bucket on top of a ladder, after bursting a pipe at Megan’s house.   She asked him to start the job because I couldn’t be there!”
Ifan has settled in nicely
Sara is somewhat relieved, as Elinor has sent her a photo of Ifan, looking quite content, and she informs Jason, “I found an equine stall – the boss’s name is Gavin Lewis.   He has contacts in the north, the Cotswolds and the South of England – he wants to meet me tomorrow.”
"You're a genius!"
Jason calls her a genius, and is about to give her a hug when his phone rings;  he sees that it is Megan and is reluctant to answer it.
Megan is insistent she must have accommodation
When he finally does, he has difficulty getting a word in, but advises her that he will do his best.   He tells Sara that he is going back to Australia, as Megan wants him to find her a hotel room, as her house is uninhabitable.
"Well, it's your own fault"
“Mark wouldn’t have been there if you started the work as promised,” Sara reminds him, “How about the Deri?   It’s in the village, and it’s not expensive.”
Cadno is back tonight
In the Deri, Eifion tells Mark that Cadno and the boys are away, but will be coming back tonight.   Then he gloats about the mess in Megan’s house.
"That water gets everywhere!"
Mark comments that water goes everywhere, and Eifion replies, “You should know that – it’s not the first time!”
Jason is far from happy with Mark
Jason comes in, glowering at Mark, who asks what happened to his head.   Jason recounts the bucket episode, then asks Dan if the Deri has a room spare for tonight.
"Megan wants APD to pay for a room tonight"
Jason complains, “Megan insisted that APD pays for a room for her tonight and probably tomorrow – it depends how long it takes to sort the mess out.”
"Sorry, Jason – there's nothing available"
Dan informs him that there is nothing available tonight or tomorrow.
"Penrhewl has some bed and breakfast rooms"
“Penrhewl has got some bed and breakfast rooms,” suggests Eifion, “Cadno will be back tonight – she loves looking after old people.   Or you can pay a fortune for a hotel – I don’t care!”
Jason decides he will go and collect Megan right away, and take her to Penrhewl, but Eifion wants half an hour to tidy up.
"Megan's an old woman – she won't be a problem"
“Megan’s an old woman – she won’t be a problem,” Eifion tells Mark, who is far from convinced.
Chloe maintains that Ed has not been seen for months
Chloe finds Kelly in her hotel, and tells her;  “Clive, who runs the hostel, remembers Ed, but no-one has seen him for months, not since filming that telly thing.”
"He's still on the streets, then"
Kelly fears that he is still on the streets, and confirms that she is just a friend.   “Things must have been really bad before he disappeared –
Chloe's questions . . .
“what happened?” Chloe asks,
. . . arouse Kelly's suspicion . . .
and Kelly becomes suspicious about her questions.
As soon as she leaves,
. . . so she follows Chloe
Kelly follows her;
Kelly appraises Mark of the situation
as she walks through Caernarfon,
"There is something going on with Chloe"
she rings Mark to update him that she has not found Ed, but there is something going on with that girl, Chloe.
"I'm tailing her"
“She’s very interested in someone she doesn’t know – so I’m tailing her.”
Eifion does some tidying before his guest arrives
At Penrhewl, Eifion is frantically trying to bring some order to the chaos when Megan and Jason arrive.   “This place has changed a lot since Marian’s day,” Megan comments,
"The furniture is still the same"
“But the furniture is still the same.”
"You could have cleaned the one you've got!"
Eifion replies that he did not have time to buy a new suite before she arrived.   “You could have cleaned the one you’ve got!” she observes acerbically, “And you could have washed the dishes!”
Jason advises Megan that her case is in her room, and she goes up to inspect it;
"Do you think Megan's heard of TripAdvisor?"

he wonders, “Do you think Megan’s heard of TripAdvisor, because if she has . . ?”   Eifion is confident that everything will be under control when Cadno gets back, which should be in two hours, and he thinks he can cope in the meantime.
Bad news from Cadno
As Jason leaves, Eifion’s phone rings and Cadno tells him that she will not be returning until Friday, which is definitely not what he wanted to hear.
"Eifion, come here!"
There is a shout from upstairs, “Eifion, come here!”
"You know more than you're letting on!"
In Caernarfon, Kelly catches up with Chloe at a pub;  “I think you know more about Ed than you’re letting on!” she says.   Chloe sees something which startles her
Kelly sees Ed approaching
and Kelly turns round to see Ed approaching them.
He looks concerned when he catches sight of Kelly;  she runs to him and throws her arms around him, saying, “I can’t believe it!   Are you OK?”
"I don't have a clue who you are"
He looks at her and replies, “I’m sorry, but I don’t have a clue who you are.   I’m going.”
"Ed!   Ed!"
As he walks away, Kelly desperately calls his name.
