13 September 2017

Ed has slept well . . .
Kelly wakes Ed,
. . . for the first time in two years
who says that he has had the best night’s sleep he has had for two years.   “Yes, I have that effect on people,” remarks Kelly,
"Are you going to explain to me?"
“Are you going to explain to me why you let me think you were dead for five months?   A couple of days after you left, everyone found out what Sioned had done – I showed them the photos.
"You have to prosecute Sioned!"
“They all felt awful about the things they’d said about you.   I’ve still got the photos – evidence against Sioned for when you prosecute her – because you have to!”
Ed will not hear of such a thing
Ed will not entertain that idea;  “Why the hell not?” she screams.   He tells her that it is because he feels so ashamed that everyone knows what she did to him, and he cannot handle it.
"What's really scaring you, Ed?"
“What’s really scaring you, Ed?” she demands, but again he insists he will not prosecute Sioned.
Megan does not want any breakfast
Megan comes downstairs in number 9, but does not want Sara to get her any breakfast, and says she will get out of the way until tonight.   She offers to babysit again if necessary,
"I don't feel like going to work today"
but Sara is not in the mood to go to work today.   Megan suggests that she has gone back to work too early,
She admits yesterday's failure
but Sara admits, “Things didn’t go as well as I hoped yesterday – I thought that I could step back into the business and pick up where I left off, but I was hopeless.   I’m so disappointed in myself – I should be an excellent mother and a successful business woman.   Men don’t have to compromise on their standards, do they?”
“The trouble is, I’ve told Jason I got the order – I couldn’t admit that I failed.”
"Will you have another chance with this Gavin?"
Megan asks if she will have another chance with this Gavin, but Sara regrets she cannot force him to give them an order, but will have to confess to Jason.   At that moment, Ifan cries for his mother,
Megan is planning something
and Megan picks up Gavin’s business card, thinks of an idea, but then appears to lose her balance .
"No, Kelly, don't send that!"
Kelly is sending a text to Mark, just saying that Ed is OK, but Ed tries to stop her;  “I don’t want anyone to know where I am!” he insists, but she informs him that she borrowed Mark’s car, and that he is a mate.
"Plan B is divorce!"
“So, do you want to know what plan B is?” she enquires, “Divorce – the message to Sioned is that she can’t control you any more.”   He argues that there is no point in making her angry, and it is better that he stays out of sight.
"I shall never be free of Sioned!"
He says that a piece of paper to end the marriage will not change anything – he will never be free of Sioned.
"She moved on to Garry Monk!"
“All right – hope that she divorces you, then,” replies Kelly, becoming rather angry.   He assures her that Sioned will not do that;  “She has hardly been the grieving widow these last few months – she moved on to someone else pretty sharpish – Garry Monk!”
Ed is shocked by this
This shocks Ed, but she goes on, “I don’t know if it was just a one-off, but he got her pregnant.”   He comments that she got what she wanted in the end, then,
"She has a miscarriage"
but Kelly adds, “Not quite – she had a miscarriage.   She’s fine, but she’s run away somewhere.   She attacked Dani – true to form, and I assume Garry told her to leave.”
"Does anyone know where she has gone?"
Ed wonders if anyone knows where she has gone,
"Who cares?"
but Kelly squeals, “Who cares?”   He tells her that he knows what it is like to wander the streets without anything, but Kelly is of the opinion that it serves her right.   “She’s not missing, like you were.   Dani and Garry are still together – and Dani’s pregnant as well.
"Garry Monk – Cwmderi's jackrabbit!"
“Garry Monk – Cwmderi’s jackrabbit!”
Megan puts her plan into action
Gavin Lewis is in the Deri when Megan comes in and introduces herself as Sara’s aunt.   “It’s important for you to know that Sara’s mind was not in the right place yesterday.
"It seems I went for a wander yesterday"
“I’m getting older, and there are times when I don’t know exactly who I am, or where I am.   It seems I went for a wander yesterday.   Gavin replies that it is a shame Sara did not mention that, as he would have been happy to reorganise.
"She said several times she would like to meet you again"
“She did say several times that she would like to meet you again,” Megan tells him, and her ploy works, as his meeting this afternoon has been cancelled, and he could meet her then.
It just so happens that he has a slot in his busy schedule
He asks if she lives locally, and Megan advises him that the address is 9 High Street.
He is going to see her straightaway,
"Will you be all right on your own?"
but is concerned that Megan will be all right on her own.
"I've had a pretty good day today"
“Yes, I’ll be fine – I’ve had a pretty good day today,” she answers.
"Perhaps Megan is right"
Sara is confiding to Ifan, “Perhaps Megan is right – I can’t do everything,”
Sara has a visitor
when there is a knock at the door, and she is surprised to see that it is Gavin;
"Can you meet me in half an hour in the Deri?"
he says that his meeting has been cancelled and asks whether she would like them to meet again, in the Deri in half an hour.
Sara is told that Megan had a hand in this
He reveals that her Aunt, Megan, told him where she lived.
Overlooking the town of Caernarfon . . .
On a hill, overlooking Caernarfon,
. . . Kelly demands what is wrong
Kelly says, irritably, “Come on, spill!   I’ve had enough of the silent treatment – what’s wrong?”
"She must really hate me"
“I always thought that some kind of warped love made Sioned hurt me,” Ed begins, “But she must really hate me if she moved on so quickly.   If Sioned hates me, she can still hurt me.”
"Why this fixation with Sioned?"
Kelly wonders why the fixation with Sioned, and reminds him that she is the one who sorted out the mess.   “Your precious Sioned was on her back in the hospital!   I’ve had problems too, but you don’t care about that, do you?
"You're totally obsessed with her!"
“You’re totally obsessed with Sioned!”
He admits it is true he is obsessed
He confesses, “You’re right – I am obsessed with Sioned and what she’s doing.   It’s not love – I want you to know why I’m like this, but I don’t want you to hate me.   I’ve done something terrible – and Sioned knows.   That’s why she can control me – that’s why I have to know what she’s doing.”

"What have you done, Ed?"
Kelly wants to know what he has done;  after a pause,
"Do you remember Dewi?"
he tells her, “Do you remember Dewi?   The bloke they thought Mark had killed.   I killed Dewi!”
Kelly is speechless
Kelly is silent;  Ed assures her that he is not dangerous, and begs her to let him explain.   “Dewi had threatened Sioned, Vicky and her child, so I went over there to warn him.   He lost it when he saw me in his flat.
"The biggest mistake of my life"
“It only took a second to make the biggest mistake of my life – everything that’s happened to me since then is a result of what I did in that second.
"And Sioned knows everything"
“Him coming towards me, me lifting the chair and hitting him – killing him.   That’s why I’m so frightened of Sioned – she knows everything.”
“But he wasn’t dead, was he?” Kelly reminds him, and he recalls that he left Dewi there, bleeding.   Ed insists that he was a dangerous man.
Kelly enquires whether he tried to attack Ed,
"He had a heavy ornament in his hand"
who replies that he had some heavy ornament in his hand;  “I thought he was going to hit me with it – that’s why I picked up the chair.”
"Hang on – that was self-defence!"
“Hang on,” says Kelly, “Was he definitely going to hit you with that statue thing?   That was self-defence!”
Sara apologises for yesterday
Sara arrives at the Deri, where Gavin already has a drink for her;  she apologises, “I’m really sorry about yesterday – I don’t know what came over me.
"I'm eager to work with you"
“I’m just so eager to work with you.”   He admits that he can be a little wild sometimes.
“I brought those samples I promised,” she tells him,
"To business"
but first he proposes a toast ‘to business’.
"But it wasn't self-defence!"
Back in the hotel, Ed protests to Kelly that it was not self-defence;  “I was in his flat – he had a right to defend his home!”
"You had a right to defend yourself"
Kelly argues that he had a right to defend himself too, and thought that Dewi was going to kill him.   “But I left him bleeding on the floor!”
"Sioned made you think you're a murderer – but you're not!"
She insists that she is not making excuses for him, but that from what he has said, she is certain that what happened was self-defence.   “Sioned has made you think you’re a murderer – but you’re not!   She doesn’t have a hold over you any more.
"I didn't go to the police"
“What about the fact that I didn’t go to the police for almost two years?” Ed demands, but Kelly asserts that the Ed she knows would never kill anyone on purpose.
"You're coming with me!"
She makes a decision;  “I’m packing – and you’re coming with me!”
Megan has just made a cup of tea;
Megan has another of her funny turns . . .
she staggers, coming through the doorway, loses her balance and grabs the handle of the pram for support.
. . . and overturns the pram
Both she and the pram crash to the floor.
Things sound more promising for Sara . . .
Gavin informs Sara that he has met with two large firms, but has been thinking over what she said about quality;  he is seriously considering doing business with Awyr Iach, and would like to discuss the terms of the contract, but does not want to do this in a bar.
. . . but she is dubious about going to his room
“I’m staying locally – we could go to my room – we’d be alone there,” he suggests.
"That is rather unconventional"
Sara emphasises that she is married, and points out that it is rather unconventional to do business in a bedroom.
He adopts a confrontational tone . . .
“I didn’t realise you expected me to rent an office!” he snaps,
. . . and appears to be walking out again
and is about to leave, when she proposes that he come over to Awyr Iach later.
Gavin advises her that he is seeing a few other small businesses,
"No, I'll come to your house at 2:30pm"
and is quite adamant that he will instead come over to her house tomorrow at 2:30pm.
"You'll be stronger by the time she comes back"
Kelly reminds Ed, “Cwmderi is as much your home as it is Sioned’s, and you’ll be stronger by the time she comes back.”
"Why should I go back there?"
He demands why he should go back to the place where he got hurt.   “If you don’t face her now, you’ll be frightened of her for ever,” is Kelly’s answer.
"I'm not strong enough to face her!"
Ed does not think he is strong enough to face her;  she informs him, “For what it’s worth, you’re one of the strongest people I know – you’ve lived on the streets – you’ve lived with abuse for months.
"If you don't, you'll be on the run for ever"
“You’ll be on the run for ever if you don’t come back and face Sioned.”
“It’s hard to imagine what it will be like to go home and see everyone again,” he says,
"We won't let you down again"
but Kelly promises him that they will not let him down again.   “I don’t want to live like this any more,” Ed admits;  she tells him he can come back and start again.
"All right – but we wait until tomorrow"
“On one condition – that we wait until tomorrow,” Ed stipulates.
Ifan's wellbeing is Sara's chief concern . . .
Sara is distraught when she comes home and sees the pram on its side;  fortunately, Ifan was not in it,
. . . and when she has fetched him . . .
and she hurries upstairs to fetch him.
. . . she checks on Megan . . .
Then she turns her attention to the motionless figure of Megan,
. . . and calls an ambulance
and calls for an ambulance.
