"I thought you were never going to get up"
At Chloe’s home in Caernarfon, she complains to Ed that she thought he was never going to get up;  he asks her what happened after he left last night.
"She was upset"
“She went back to the hotel  – she was upset,” Chloe tells him, “Are you going to tell me who she is?”
"I've got no idea who she is"
He replies that he has no idea, but she continues, “It didn’t look like it to me – you looked as if you had seen a ghost.”   He explains that he felt uncomfortable, having someone he did not know coming up to him like that.
"How do you know you don't know her?"
How do you know that you don’t know her?” Chloe demands, “You don’t remember anything about your life before you arrived here.   She might be your girlfriend – or even your wife.   Maybe you have children somewhere – and even if not, she might be able to help you remember.”
"I don't want to remember"
He is quite adamant that he does not want to remember,
"Can you do my shift at the castle?"
and asks if she can do his shift at the castle today, as he cannot face it.
"Do I look professional?"
Sara asks Jason if she looks professional, and he replies that she always does;
"You've done this sort of thing loads of times"
he wonders why she is nervous, as she has done this sort of thing loads of times.
"I shall be at your house shortly"
Then Megan visits, and he assures her he will be starting the work at her house as soon as he has taken Ifan to the babysitter.
"Penrhewl is not suitable!"
She, however, is quite emphatic, “You have to find me somewhere else to stay – Penrhewl is not suitable!”
Then Elinor phones to say that she suspects one of the children has measles,
Ifan cannot stay with Elinor
and she cannot look after other children until she knows for sure.   Jason says that he will take Ifan to work with him, as Sara will not be at her meeting for long, but she is not happy about that.
"I'll be glad to look after him"
Megan volunteers to look after him, as she has nothing else to do, and Sara reluctantly has to agree.
"We can go out to eat tonight"
Chloe tells Ed that she will be back about six, and they can go out for something to eat, but he has decided that he is leaving Caernarfon – it is time to move on.
"You can find another lodger"
“You can find another lodger,” he tells her, but she protests that he is not just a lodger, but a friend.
"I'm willing to wait until you're better"
“I like you, and I’m willing to wait until you’re better,” she insists, but he does not think his head is in the right place for a relationship,
"Don't waste your time on me"
and urges her not to waste her time on him.   “This is because of Kelly, isn’t it?” she demands, “She knows you, and something made you rush off yesterday.   You have a chance to find out what happened to you – why don’t you want me to know the truth?”
"I'm going to pack"
He informs her that he is going to pack.
Eifion watches Gavin's rather familiar attitude
Sara meets her contact, Gavin Lewis, in the Deri, as Eifion looks on;
"I can show you some samples"
she explains that she can show him some samples in a few days.
He finds fault with the size of her workforce . . .
He maintains that her current workforce is not enough if a large order comes in, but she assures him that there are others she can call upon, and they can handle an order of any size.
. . . and the company's turnover
He notices that the firm’s turnover has dropped since this time last year, and she explains that was due to maternity leave.   Then they get down to discussing prices;  she shows him the price lists,
Then he wants to come to 'a special arrangement'
but he asks, “Can we come to a special arrangement?”   Eifion, who is taking a keen interest, smiles at this approach.
“I wouldn’t like to offer a discount until I know the size of an order,” Sara advises, “I don’t want to commit to something that wouldn’t be worth it to us.
"Your methods are rather undynamic"
Gavin is keen to move things along faster, and considers that her methods are rather undynamic.   “Why don’t you come over to Awyr Iach later to see how we work?” she suggests.
“Maybe after you grow a little,” he replies, and gets up to go.
"Can I do anything to change your mind?"
She wonders if she could do anything to change his mind;  “Be careful what you offer!” is his parting shot.
"Not a word to anyone, right?"
Sara swears Eifion to silence
"You obviously know more than me"
At the castle, Chloe again encounters Kelly, who demands what is going on with Ed.   Chloe replies that she wants to know that too;  “You can start then, because you obviously know more than I do,” says Kelly, “Or I could go to the homeless shelter myself – I am going to find out, whatever!”
"He's got amnesia"
Chloe begins, “He’s got amnesia,” which makes Kelly laugh;  Chloe goes on, “He arrived here not remembering anything – where he had come from – where he was going.   He doesn’t remember you or anyone else from his past.   I thought he was starting to remember when he saw you yesterday.   He doesn’t want to see you.”
"I know why he's got amnesia!"
Kelly is almost in tears as she pleads that perhaps she can help him;  “I know why he’s got amnesia – why he’s blocked everything out.
"Ed's violent and abusive wife – she's the enemy!"
“I’m not the enemy, OK, Chloe?   Sioned – Ed’s abusive and violent wife – she’s the enemy!
Chloe is told that it is a long story
“You’d better sit down – it’s a long story.”
"I've let you and Dadi down terribly"
Sara admits to Ifan, “I’ve let you and Dadi down terribly.  Jason comes back to see how the meeting went, and whether she got an order.”
"Yes – not a huge order"
She lies that she did;  “Not a huge order, but I’m sure there is more to come.”
"Your Mam is incredible, isn't she?"
Jason tells Ifan that his Mam is incredible, and that they are two very lucky men.
"Don't be angry, Ed"
Ed is packing his bags when Chloe returns unexpectedly;  she tells him not to be angry,
Then he sees Kelly
and then he sees Kelly.
"I thought you'd killed yourself!"
“Hiya, Ed!   It’s so amazing to see you – I thought you’d killed yourself!” she sobs.
"Why would I do that?"
He asks why he would have killed himself;
"You told me, and I believed you"
“Because you thought you’d get the blame for hurting someone – it doesn’t matter who, because it wasn’t your fault.”   He demands why he she says that, and she replies, “Because you told me, and I believed you!”
"Does anyone else thing I did it?"
“Does anyone else think I did it?” he asks, confused, and Kelly assures him that everyone, including the police, thinks it was an accident, and he is not in any trouble.   She asks if he remembers anything about Cwmderi.
"Tell him what happened"
Chloe urges her to tell him what happened and assures Ed, “It will do you good – you know how much talking helps me.”   He insists that he is not like her, but she asks Kelly, “Do you want him to be homeless again?   Do you want him to remember when he’s on his own?   Maybe he will jump next time!”   Then she instructs Ed, “You have to hear this!”
"You were . . . are married to someone called Sioned"
Kelly sobs, “You were . . . are married, to someone named Sioned.”
He flinches at the mention of her name
He closes his eyes, as if this is too difficult to hear.
"I saw her throw coffee over your chest once"
“I saw her throw coffee over your chest once,” Kelly continues, and Ed looks downcast, “And then you were super grateful when she bought one of those burn sprays to make you feel better.   You were super grateful whenever she was nice to you, when she let you go out with your friends, when she didn’t punish you.”
"You were covered in bruises"
Ed breaks down in tears, as she adds, “The last time I saw you, you were covered in bruises.   Nobody believed me when I told them what she was doing to you – and then you were gone – it was too late!
"I'm so sorry, Ed"
“I’m so sorry, Ed.”
Chloe can tell that he does remember
Chloe speaks up, “When I went to court to get my violent partner locked up, they listed everything he’d done to me – just like Kelly did now.   I reacted in exactly the same way as you, because I remembered everything!   It was so clear in my mind!
"The amnesia was a lie, wasn't it?"
“You were reliving every moment of it when Kelly was talking – I could see it in your face!   The amnesia was a lie, wasn’t it?”
"I'm sorry"
Ed whispers that he is sorry;
"You let us all think you were dead!"
Kelly screams, “Sorry?   You let us all think you were dead!”
Kelly storms out
She grabs her bag and is gone.
Eifion settles down to watch the wrestling
At Penrhewl, Eifion sits on the sofa and turns on the TV to watch the wrestling;
"You haven't cleaned this place, have you?"
Megan comes in and complains, “You haven’t cleaned this place, have you?”
"You shouldn't be back until bedtime"
He protests that she should not be back at this time, but only at bedtime.
"I take one sugar in my tea"
She sits down, changes channel and asks for a cup of tea.   “I’m staying here – and a cup of tea should come as part of the cost.   There – we’ll have to listen to the radio, won’t we?   And I take one sugar in my tea.”
Eifion makes her a mug of tea
She settles down to listen to some soothing choral music,
This is what happens when containers are not labelled
and when Eifion bring a mug of tea, she moans that a cup and saucer would have been nice.
Megan spits out the foul-tasting liquid
One sip reveals that Eifion put salt in the tea, instead of sugar, and she accuses him of doing it on purpose,
"You're trying to get rid of me!"
as he is trying to get rid of her.   “I don’t want anything else from you – I wouldn’t be surprised if you were trying to poison me!
"I can help you through this"
Chloe understands why Ed lied to her, and is not angry with him;  she offers to help him get through this,
"I'll go wherever the next bus is going"
but he replies that he cannot go back there and puts on his rucksack.   He will go wherever the next bus is going, and warns her not to wait for him.
"No-one can help me"
“No-one can help me,” he says, “Tell Kelly I’ve left and that I’m sorry – for everything.”
"I can't stay under the same roof as that pig!"
Megan returns to Jason’s and is haranguing him, “I can’t stay under the same roof as that pig!
"Would it be possible for me to stay here?"
“Would it be possible for me to stay here?   I can’t drag myself from place to place, looking for shelter.”
Jason has little choice but to agree
Jason calls to Sara, then goes upstairs to prepare the spare room.
Near the bus stop in Caernarfon . . .
Outside the Empire cinema,
. . . Ed checks his money . . .
Ed checks how much money he has in his wallet,
. . . but someone disappears with his wallet . . .
then looks at the bus timetable;  while his back is turned, someone who has been watching him rushes forward, snatches the wallet from his rucksack and runs off,
. . . and he soon loses them
with Ed in hot pursuit, although he soon loses him.
He is distraught when Kelly approaches
As he sits forlornly on the seat, Kelly approaches;  “Don’t ask why I’m here, because I don’t know myself.   All the lies and pretend amnesia – and the attemps to sneak off again.
"No recriminations – just a friend, that's all"
“Come on, Ed, you might be used to living on the streets, but I’m not.   No recriminations, no deep and meaningfuls – just food and a bed, all right?   And a friend – that’s all – I promise.”
Ed takes her hand
Ed takes Kelly’s hand and they walk off together.
