| The truth about the graffiti comes out |
Kelly is buying milk from the shop when Gwyneth comes in and informs Eileen that Kelly was responsible for the graffiti.
| "I was so angry!" |
Kelly says, “I heard that Sioned was working here and I was so angry!” but Eileen replies it was not Sioned she hurt.
| "There are so many comments online about it" |
As Kelly leaves, Gwyneth says that she was sorry to hear about the problems at the café; “There are so many comments online about it!” Kelly knows that she and Sioned are responsible for that.
| Now Sioned comes in |
Sioned comes in as Kelly leaves and wants to discuss something with Gwyneth, commenting that it is nice to know she can rely on some people.
| Eileen warns Gwyneth about her own daughter |
Eileen advises Gwyneth to be careful.
| Iolo is prepared for a painting session |
Iolo comes out of APD with some decorating materials, and tells Dani that they are decorating a bedroom for Greta, as it has not had a coat of paint since Colin left.
| Dani is not optimistic about their nursery |
Dani replies that Garry is supposed to be preparing their nursery, but she does not see this happening before the baby arrives. Iolo remarks that they will not have much time when the baby does come, as is so much to do.
| "Tyler did tell you Greta's with us?" |
“Tyler did tell you that she’s with us, didn’t he?” Iolo asks, and she has been meaning to call in and see them,
| "There's so much work at the Deri" |
but when she gets time to herself, she just falls asleep. “Tyler is looking after her at the moment – he has taken another sickie off work. Looking after her is a full-time job – but it’s worth it.”
| "She's taking advantage of you!" |
Dani maintains that Liv is taking advantage of them, getting them to look after Greta and buying all this stuff. “She’ll take it all when she comes back!”
| "Come over later – we have some news" |
Iolo looks concerned, and tells her to come over later as they have some important news to discuss with her.
| "Do we need Garry's permission?" |
Up in Greta’s bedroom, Tyler wonders whether there is any point starting decorating without Garry’s permission,
| Iolo favours a scarlet colour scheme |
and Iolo wants to paint the room in the Scarlet’s colours. Tyler has already bought a blue babygro. Iolo informs him, “I saw Dani just now and she said she would visit us, but I didn’t tell her about our plans.”
| "We must have Dani on side" |
Tyler is afraid that without her support it may not be easy to adopt, but Iolo predicts she will be as excited as them.
| Debbie learns of the impending visit |
Sioned is in the café when Debbie receives the news that the Food Standards Agency are on their way;
| "Why can't she stay upstairs – or in the attic!" |
Kelly wonders why Sioned cannot stay upstairs, “Or in the attic, if there is one!”
Ed reminds Kelly that she is supposed to be ignoring Sioned; “She knows she is winding me up, and she shouldn’t be near you!” Kelly complains.
| Debbie is panicking . . . |
Then Debbie tells her that the Food Standards officers are on the way, with less than an hour’s warning. Last time she had to pull the fridges out; she assumes that it is a reaction to all the stuff online. “That kitchen has to be spotless!”
| . . . and Ed offers to lend a hand |
Ed offers to help, and is asked to change the oil in the fryers.
| "Make sure the mugs are clean" |
Sioned pipes up, “Before you go, Kelly, I’ll have those two cappuccinos! Make sure the mugs are clean – I don’t want to catch anything.”
| Gwyneth arrives, with some trepidation |
Then Gwyneth joins her.
| "You're gorgeous, aren't you?" |
Dani is at number 7, telling baby Greta how gorgeous she is; “I’m sure both your uncles spoil you.”
| "She's going to change our lives completely" |
Tyler says that she is going to change their lives completely;
| "But she'll only be here a few weeks" |
“But she will only be here for a few weeks,” replies Dani, “It’s important that Liv bonds with Greta as much as possible.”
| "She's here permanently now" |
“We’re not just looking after her – she’s here permanently now,” Tyler advises, “Liv is back on drugs – and ran off with her drug dealer, Steve. She disappeared and left Greta.”
| Dani is outraged |
Dani is furious, I cannot understand why she has left such a perfect little baby.
“Tyler continues, “Social Services would have taken her if we had not agreed to have her.
| They are intent on giving Greta a loving home |
“We can’t force Liv to come off drugs, but we can give Greta a loving home. We’re going to start the adoption process to become her official parents – we have to put Greta first now.” Dani is very shocked.
| Sioned wants to discuss tactics |
Sioned tells Gwyneth, “My solicitor wants to know if you can meet him to tell him what you saw Ed do to me – let’s go upstairs to talk.” Gwyneth looks very dubious about this.
| "A rat is more hygienic than her!" |
Sioned points at Kelly and comments to Debbie, “She’s your problem – a rat is more hygienic!”
| "How about that stuff you put online?" |
Ed asks if Sioned’s landlord knows that she wrote all that stuff online, and probably phoned the Food Standards Agency. Sioned denies this, but Debbie insists she wants Sioned out of the flat, and gives her one week’s notice.
| The inspecting officer arrives |
The Food Standards officer arrives,
| Debbie wants to get these two out of the way |
and Debbie sends the pair of them upstairs.
| "We want your support, Dani" |
Tyler has made the next bottle for Greta; he insists that they have made their decision and would like Dani’s support, but she argues that they are making it too easy for Liv.
| "I think you've taken advantage of the situation" |
“Doesn’t she feel guilty for dumping her? I think you’ve taken advantage of the situation to have a ready-made family.” She urges him to give this careful consideration, but Iolo points out that they can give the baby a home.
| "Then there's that thug, Steve!" |
“Look at the mess in our family!” Dani urges, “Who knows what problems she will have – and that thug, Steve, will never leave you alone.”
| "She's not the only one to have a baby with a thug!" |
Tyler rages at her, “She’s not the only one to have a baby with a thug!” Without another word, Dani picks up her bag and leaves the house.
| Sioned is about to explain what she wants |
Sioned brings Gwyneth a cup of tea
| "You're used to lying in court!" |
and says, “I know you keep calm while being questioned – you’re used to lying in court. You know Ed’s been taking steroids – he can’t deny that.
| "I want you to say this . . ." |
“I want you to say you saw him taking them, and then get angry with me. It’s important to say that you were concerned for me, so you used to call in to see me – and during one of those visits you saw him attack me.
| "Then Ed threatened you" |
“Then he threatened you to keep quiet.”
| "That's a big lie, Sioned!" |
Gwyneth concludes, “That’s a big lie, Sioned!” and is told that, in appreciation for her assistance,
| Then comes the incentive – a weekend in London |
Sioned has booked a hotel in London for them this weekend, just the two of them. Gwyneth does not like the sound of this at all.
| "Don't let Dani upset you" |
Iolo tells Tyler not to let Dani upset him, as they have not taken advantage, and Greta would be in care if it were not for them.
| Tyler thinks maybe Dani is right |
“Maybe we did see our chance to adopt her without realising it,” Tyler replies. Iolo insists that when Liv said she was going to get her life back in order,
| "I was willing to see Greta go back to Liv" |
he was willing to see Greta go back to her, and that they have always done what is right for Greta.
| "This is bound to come between us" |
Tyler regrets what he said to Dani, and considers that it is bound to come between them; he just wants them all to be happy – and Liv too. Iolo reminds him that the three of them are a family, and that nothing will stand in their way.
| They discuss the findings . . . |
The officer is discussing her inspection with Debbie,
| . . . and Kelly finds the body language disturbing |
and Kelly reports to Ed that Debbie’s body language is not encouraging. “They could demand that she shuts the place, and it will be my fault! It’s like a morgue in here.”
| The atmosphere seems light-hearted |
Then they are surprised when Debbie laughs, and says, as the inspector leaves,
| "Someone with some common sense!" |
“It’s great to have someone with some common sense!”
| "How about that body language, then?" |
Ed asks Kelly what that body language indicates.
| Debbie is very jubilant |
“Yes!” exclaims Debbie enthusiastically, and Ed suggests a couple of drinks to celebrate.
| "I could get five years in prison!" |
“I could get five years in prison if they found out I was lying,” Gwyneth stresses, but Sioned is confident that she is not going to get caught.
| "What kind of solicitor do you have?" |
Gwyneth asks, “What kind of solicitor do you have, if he’s suggesting you do something so desperate?”
| "No, this is all my idea" |
Sioned points out that this is all her idea, and is nothing to do with him.
| "The case could fall apart" |
Gwyneth warns that the case will fall apart if the the truth comes out, but Sioned says it would be her word against Ed’s; “I know who I’d put my money on! I have to know now, so that I can tell my solicitor to prepare my defence.”
| "No, Sioned – this is not the way!" |
Gwyneth is adamant that this is not the way.
| "I'm relying on you to keep me out of prison!" |
“I’m relying on you to keep me out of prison!” rants Sioned, but Gwyneth refuses to do it, so Sioned’s attitude changes, and she shouts, “Get lost, will you?”
| Another failure for Sioned |
Gwyneth complies with her wishes, and leaves Sioned looking rather troubled.
| Gwyneth does not look happy |
Eileen sees Gwyneth come out of the café, with a grim look on her face;
| "Sioned's not thinking straight" |
she reports that Sioned is not thinking straight, and Eileen agrees that she is not an easy one to help. Gwyneth is about to tell her what Sioned proposed, but then thinks better of it.
| "She has to learn to help herself" |
“Sioned has to learn to help herself,” Eileen remarks, “It’s the only way she’ll regain any respect.”
| "Greta should have brought us closer together" |
Iolo goes to see Dani at the Deri, where he says that Greta should have brought them closer together, and that Tyler regrets what he said.
| "Are you doing this for the right reasons?" |
She assures him that she wants to be sure they are doing this for the right reasons, and he asks what she would have done in the circumstances.
| "I suppose I would have done the same" |
She supposes that she would have done the same thing that they did, but considers they should have talked to her about the adoption.
| Debbie is very grateful to Sioned . . . |
Sioned comes stomping downstairs into the café, and Debbie informs her, “The café’s hygiene score has gone from 3 to 4 – if you were responsible for the visit, thank you!
| . . . but gives her a final warning |
“I’m not happy that you’re hassling staff – do it again, and you’re out!
| It is just not Sioned's day today |
“I’m not putting up with any more of your nonsense!
| If this is Debbie in a good mood . . . |
“You’re lucky I’m in a good mood.”
| "I don't want another slanging match" |
Tyler is working in Greta’s bedroom when Dani enters, assuring him that she does not want another slanging match, but this is supposed to be a happy time for her.
| "Liv has become a hard person" |
“I know that sounds selfish, but Liv has become a hard person. Life has never been easy for me or Tyler – we’ve had to fight and be tough.”
| "That's why we're adopting Greta" |
Tyler explains that is exactly why they are adopting Greta; “To give her a better life than us!” Dani just wants him to be realistic, as this is going to be a rollercoaster ride.
“I’d rather be on that rollercoaster with Greta than standing back and looking at her, unable to do anything,” Tyler answers.
| "We'll prove we deserve to be parents" |
Iolo insists that they will show everyone they deserve to be parents.
| Dani's attitude begins to soften |
Dani concedes that she will be there for them if they need her.
| "Getting my knickers in a twist" |
Kelly and Ed relax at number 10 with a glass of wine; “I’m so sad – getting my knickers in a twist about a food hygiene inspector!” she says,
| "We'll have drinks on Saturday" |
and Ed is looking forward to their drinks on Saturday night.
| "Oh – there's another review" |
Kelly checks to see what wicked comments Sioned has put up today; “New review – ‘Caffi’r Cwm is a must visit and the waitress, Kelly, is a godsend with a smile to banish the blues’ –
| "Nice one, Ed!" |
“nice one, Ed!” He replies that it is on behalf of all the locals who come to have a chat with her,
| "I'm glad we understand each other again" |
and is glad they understand each other once more.
| "It all builds up" |
She tells him, “Ed, I’m sorry I’m an idiot – I find it hard to stand back and let Sioned carry on. It all builds up and . . .” He is just grateful that she is on his side.
| Sioned is at the bar |
Gwyneth comes into the Deri and finds Sioned at the bar;
| "You're putting yourself in danger here" |
“I understand that you’re disappointed – I don’t blame you for trying to do all you can to avoid prison, but you’re opening up danger for yourself here. You need to consider carefully, and have faith in your legal team.
| All of a sudden, Gwyneth is concerned about Gwern |
“I have to think of Gwern, and the impact it would have on him if it all went wrong – I can’t take the risk!”
| Sioned blithely insists there is no risk at all |
Of course, Sioned is quite confident that there is no risk at all, and thought that Gwyneth was her friend.
| "You've turned your back on me like everyone else!" |
If she is not going to do what Sioned wants, she is not to be at the court. “You’ve turned your back on me, like everyone else!” Gwyneth points out the folly of pushing her away, as she does not have any one else, but Sioned snarls,
| "You're not worth knowing!" |
“You’re not worth knowing!
| Exactly where does she hope to find such a person? |
“I’ll find someone else to trust.”
