There is no-one to look after Greta
Again Tyler is ringing around, trying to find childcare for Greta, but is not successful.
"I should be looking after her"
“I should be looking after her, shouldn’t I?” demands Liv, but he points out that is not what the regulations say.   “Come on, Ty, nothing went wrong last time,” she whines,
"I can't trust you, Liv"
but he points out he cannot trust her, as she lied to him.
"I'm really sorry, Ty"
“I’m really sorry – the only reason I did it was because I wanted to be here with Greta,” she goes on, “I don’t want to miss another moment of her life – you understand that, don’t you?
"Just one more chance!"
Just give me one more chance – I won’t mess up.   I appreciate now how much I’ve got to lose.”
"But you must not take her outside"
Tyler realises he does not have much choice, and so agrees, with the proviso that she does not take Greta outside, as they cannot afford to let anyone see Liv alone with the baby.
"We shall be fine"
She insists that they will be fine, and that he should go to school.
They are sharing their bathroom with Ffion
Ffion comes downstairs, having been using the bathroom, and tells them that Gethin has booked someone to fix their bathroom over the weekend.   “Take him away – he’s driving me round the bend,” begs Liv.
"Don't do anything stupid"
Before he goes, Tyler pleads with Liv not to do anything stupid.
A fleeting glimpse of the new shop employee
Eileen has taken on a new assistant in the shop, which does not please Jim;  “He’s not as good as Colin, but we’ll get there in the end,” she says,
"When he grows a set of wings"
“Once he grows another pair of hands — and wings, perhaps,” but Jim is clearly not listening to her.
"I don't know what to do with myself"
He admits that he is wondering what to do with himself today;  he has been labouring for nine days in a row, but prefers to keep busy.   She suggests that he goes to the allotment, to see if his seeds have come through.
"I could come – with a picnic"
Eileen proposes, “I’ll come with you – I’ll make a flask and a picnic to take with us!”   Jim does not appear enthusiastic about this.
They are hesitant about telling Siôn . . .
Vicky and Mathew are debating which of them will tell Siôn about the ornament;  they are about to inform him,
. . . and he is in a belligerent mood this morning
when he, rather irritably, tells them to carry on as normal – they will sort it all out tonight.   He seems to have tired of his guests already.
"Do you think he already knows?"
Mathew wonders if Siôn already knows, and whether the ornament was valuable;
"I'll try to repair it"
Vicky will try repairing it with superglue, so perhaps he will not notice.
The lettuce are thriving on the allotment
At the allotment, Jim tries a lettuce leaf, and Eileen is pleased to see that he does have green fingers after all.
"This stuff is as good as Penrhewl's!"
He pronounces that his stuff is as good as Penrhewl’s, and that by next summer, they will be eating like royals.   They decide to have a cup of tea before starting work,
Someone is spying on them . . .
but from behind a convenient bush,
. . . as Eileen pours out the tea
they are being watched by Kath.
Ffion appears at number 7
At number 7, Liv is eating chocolate digestives when the front door opens and Ffion comes in quietly, not wanting to disturb Greta.   “I’ve put her down and she’s fast asleep,” says Liv,
"Tell Tyler to stop sending you over"
“So you can tell Tyler to stop sending you over to check up on me.”
Ffion replies that she has come to collect a folder which Tyler forgot this morning;  Liv does not believe this,
"And to prove it, here's the file"
but Ffion picks up a folder from the kitchen table to prove it.
"He calls every hour – and it's not funny!"
“Can you tell him to stop phoning me?   It’s really annoying,” Liv asks, “He calls every hour – and it’s not funny!   He always leaves a new instruction – I’m fed up with him – he doesn’t trust me at all.”
"Well, you did disappear"
Ffion reminds her that it is not really surprising, after she disappeared.
"I'm trying really hard"
“Everyone messes up, and I’m trying really hard,” Liv insists.
"You won't earn his trust overnight"
“Tyler needs to see that youre doing your best – he’s given you the ideal opportunity to prove yourself,” replies Ffion, “You have to think of this in the long-term – you won’t earn his trust overnight.   If Tyler comes home later, and sees that you and Greta are happy, safe and secure, that will be a good start, and who knows, you may get Greta back in a few months.
"Isn't it worth obeying all those instructions?"
Isn’t that worth obeying all those instructions?”
The new employee seems to have a slight problem
At the allotment, Eileen has a phone call from her new protegé, informing her that he has cleaned all the milk and eggs off the floor.
"OK, I'll be over there now!"
“OK, I’ll be over there now!” she says, and Jim enquires if her new assistant has made an omelette on the floor;
Now Jim has a chance for a doze . . .
she hurries off back to the shop.
. . . but Kath emerges from her hiding place
It does not take Kath long to appear from behind the shed,
"What are you doing here?"
and she suggests that Jim needs something to help him relax, something to put his feet up on.
Vicky is at the DIY superstore . . .
In the local DIY superstore, Vicky is looking for superglue,
. . . and locates the superglue
and tells Nicky that she hopes that it works;  then in another aisle,
A replacement ornament is beyond her price range . . .
she sees an ornament, identical to the broken one, looks around to see if anyone is watching,
. . . so she hides it under the pram
then secretes it under the pram, covering it with a blanket.
Tyler's continual texts . . .
Liv is making a feed for Greta when she receives yet another text from Tyler, which she ignores, and soon after there is a further one;
. . . are getting on Liv's nerves
by this time she is getting extremely irritated, and the baby begins to cry.
Vicky walks out of the store . . .
Vicky walks straight out past the checkouts, but she is followed by a staff member,
. . . but then is escorted back inside
who challenges her, and escorts her back into the store.
Jim puts his feet up on the vegetable boxes,
Kath produces some cans
and Kath produces two cans from her pockets, remarking that there are more where they came from.     Jim warns her that he is not going to make a habit of this.
She apologises about the cabbages incident
“Listen, Jim, I am sorry for not being honest with you about those cabbages,” she tells him, but he replies that it is all water under the bridge now,
"I wasn't much of an angel myself"
and that he was not much of an angel himself.   “Maybe we could try again next year – as long as we swear to grow our own produce,” Kath adds, “And I think we should steer clear of cabbages.”
"How about courgettes next year?"
Jim thinks they could always try the courgette competition, and they drink a toast to Owen Hughes,
"May he rest in peace – and his cabbages!"
“May he rest in peace – and his cabbages!”
"Honey, I'm home!"
Tyler returns to number 7, shouting, “Honey, I’m home!”
There is a marked absence of Liv and Greta
He is disturbed to find that there is no sign of Liv or the baby.
A note has been left for him
At first he does not notice the slip of paper bearing his name on the shelf,
"Oh, Liv!"
but when he does see it, he is horrified.
"Do you have avocados?"
Outside the shop, Siôn asks Eileen if she has avocados;  he suggests that they should be kept in the fridge, and she points out that a new member of staff has rearranged the stock.   “I was fed up without Colin,” she admits.
"Mathew would do anything for a job"
“Why didnt you say?” exclaims Siôn, “Mathew would do anything for a job, especially locally.   A young couple trying to raise a family without support.”
"They did have support, before . . ."
Eileen reminds him that they did have support, before what happened.   He rebukes her, “I’m surprised at you – I thought you would be kinder, especially after how Sioned has behaved!
"Forget the avocado!"
Forget the avocado – I’ll do without it!”
The sound of drunken carousing
Into the alley come Jim and Kath, laughing raucously;
"When will you learn, Jim Probert?"
Eileen looks unimpressed, and accuses him of drinking in the afternoon again — with her.   “After what happened last time, when will you learn?”
Kath seems rather unsteady on her feet
Kath staggers away, and Jim starts to explain, but then gives up,
"It doesn't matter!"
deciding that it does not matter.
Siôn is now in  a much better humour . . .
Mathew is attempting to tidy up when Siôn returns to Y Felin, reporting that he managed to hit his deadline.   “If I hadn’t finished by lunchtime, I wouldn’t have got any work from that company again,
. . . having secured a prestigious translation job
so panic over for now!”
He intends to celebrate
He produces a bottle of wine and some tapas from his bag, and apologises that he has been a bit cranky lately;
"I'm grumpy when a deadline is looming"
“Iolo says I’m grumpy when I’ve got a deadline looming.”
Mathew expresses his gratitude for being here
"That ornament over in the corner . . ."
and then confesses that they had an accident, knocking over the ornament on the corner of the dresser, but promises that they will fix it.   “You’ve done me a favour,” smiles Siôn,
"I've never liked it!"
“Gwyneth bought that – and I never liked it!”
"Llanarthur police station?"
Then the phone rings, and Siôn passes the phone to Mathew, advising that it is Llanarthur police station;
Mathew answers, with fear and trepidation
“PC Thomas, about Vicky!”
Kath has been called to the shop
Kath creeps into the shop, telling Jim that she has been summoned there;
Eileen apologises to her for earlier
Eileen tells her, “I don’t want to be the kind of wife that controls everything her husband does.   So I want to apologise for earlier, and if you want to potter around the allotment, you don’t have to do it behind my back.”
"On one condition"
As Kath turns to leave, Eileen adds, “On one condition – we don’t want Jim dragged into any more scams, do we?   Not like last time.”
"Yes, you're right, Eileen"
Jim agrees with this, and Kath says that she is all for an easy life;  that is why she is getting her own plot, legitimately.
"Your turn to bring the cans!"
Jim proposes that they have a weeding session before long, and she maintains it is his turn to bring the cans this time.
Mathew explains what happened
Mathew has been to collect Vicky and Nicky;  he tells Siôn that she was cautioned for stealing.
"Did you steal an ornament?"
“Did you steal an ornament?” Siôn asks her, “To replace the one you broke?   There was no need for that.”
"I don't know what came over me!"
She is very apologetic about treating him in this way when he has given them a place to stay, and does not know what came over her;  she will never get a job with a caution on her record.
"I will give you a reference"
Siôn insists that he will give her reference, but she must have faith;
Siôn seems confident that things will improve
“It will get better soon, I promise.”
"Sorry, Tyler, this is the only way"
Ffion reads the note left by Liv;  “Sorry, Tyler, this is the only way.   Please understand that I’m really grateful for all you’ve done for Greta, but we need to do this our way.”
"It doesn't say where they've gone"
Tyler is concerned that it does not say where they have gone, and Ffion discloses that Liv was annoyed that he kept texting her.
"Did she suspect the file business?"
“Did she suspect that the file business was a set-up?” he demands, and Ffion confirms that she did at first.
"She knew it would take time"
She did realise that it was going to take time for Tyler to trust her.
"I've been so stupid!"
“This is my fault for being so stupid!” rages Tyler, “Social services see this all the time – that’s why they set conditions!”   He does not know what he is going to do, as if he tells the truth, they could lose Greta.
"I hope she comes to her senses"
He hopes that she will come to her senses and brings Greta home.
