Mathew arrives at the Deri for his shift three hours late, and nursing a tremendous hangover; Dani suggests that is the sign of a good night,

but by the time she has served Mal with his pint, Mathew has gone.

In a posh club, Garry and his two associates arrive; “It’s not exactly the Ritz, but it’s discreet,” he tells them. The manager greets him, and Garry says, “I thought I’d introduce my friends to the best business club this side of the bridge.”

The manager informs them that their hostess today is Sia, who turns out to be none other than Sioned,

| That Martin seems to like the look of Sia |
but neither she nor Garry show any sign that they know each other. “Would you like to come this way?” asks Sia.

Jason has delivered the order to Penrhewl and presents the estimate for the construction work;

he is dismayed when Eifion tells him that he will be doing the construction himself.

“I see – you don’t trust me,” realises Jason, “I saw your face yesterday when Dai made that accusation – I’ve been falsely accused!”

Cadno says that it is simply a matter of saving money, so Jason determines to do the same, and take his money out of the syndicate,

He does not want anything to do with the shooting, if this is the result; Sara must not be upset, in her condition, and it will not do APD any good.

Cadno finds that the Penrhewl website has been similarly attacked; “This is Kelly’s doing,” Eifion comments, “She said in the Deri that she’d do something!”

After Sia has served the men with drinks, Garry goes over to the bar and says, “Sia! It suits you – the name, I’m not sure about the job.

“It’s a bit of a comedown after running your own business.” She reports that the pay is good.

| Removing all the fly-posting |
Dai discovers Diane and DJ trying to remove fly-posted protest leaflets from the window of APD. “Crikey Moses!” he exclaims, “What’s this mess?” DJ advises that they have already removed more of the leaflets from round the back.

Eifion arrives and is not surprised that APD has also been targeted by Kelly and her band of yobs. “We shall have to withdraw from the syndicate – it’s not worth it if we’re going to get all this trouble,” Diane tells him. Eifion decides to go and stop this nonsense now.

Sara shows Dai the receipt for the pram, to prove they did not spend all that money, and Diane demands to know what they are talking about.

Dai explains, “You might as well know – I think Jason has stolen £5,000 from APD,” and as Jason comes out of the shop, adds, “There is the thief himself!”

Diane cannot believe that he would steal from his own family,

and Sara tells Dai he should be ashamed of himself.

Dai gives his reasoning; “Last week they couldn’t afford the pram – no money – then, hey presto - they buy it, brand spanking new, top of the range! Even if it was a bargain, it still cost a pretty penny! Money you didn’t have before the theft!”
Jason takes Sara home, to avoid upsetting her any further, while Dai tells Diane he was hoping that Jason would pay it back.

In the Deri, Kelly informs Ffion and Gethin that the boy she met online gave her the idea.

Then Cadno comes marching in, and tells them they have gone too far this time with what they have put online; they could be reported for property damage.

Kelly responds, “Slander is a criminal offence, too!”
Gethin stresses that anyone who shoots innocent birds has blood on their hands, which Cadno takes to be a threat. Kelly warns her she is interrupting a private meeting.

Gethin heads towards the toilet and encounters Mathew, still rather unsteady on his feet. “Someone had a big night,” remarks Gethin, “Who was the lucky lady? There’s a lot to be said for being young, free and single!”

which brings a rebuke from Ffion.

When their meeting ends, Martin, one of Garry’s colleagues, hands Sioned £40.

Garry warns her, “Watch that Martin Fallon – he has a reputation for being a sugar daddy – the only interesting thing about him is his Porsche 911.”

Sioned has no objection if the customers want to throw their money around; “I’ve come here for an honest day’s work – I don’t do anyone any favours.”

When DJ gets back to Bryntirion, Linda gives him the news about the holiday, which she has already booked for the pair of them. “We start at San Francisco, then down to Vegas, see the Grand Canyon and finish in Los Angeles,” she tells DJ, “I’ve always dreamed of going to America – I want to make the most of every second I’ve got left.”

When he asks if she will be up to the journey, she replies, “The doctor is going to sort out all the drugs, and write to the insurance company.”

When DJ reveals that he is going to America, Jason comments that Awyr Iach must be paying him too much, but he is at pains to stress that his Mam is paying for everything.

She has just come in, having purchased the dollars; “That’s nice,” says Jason, “How did you pay – let me guess – cash? Isn’t it obvious?

Linda answers that it was less than that.
DJ is outraged; “You must be desperate – picking on a dying woman! Do you think someone would be stupid enough to steal money and then make a show of spending it?”

Jason realises that he has jumped to the wrong conclusion, and says he is sorry. Dai shouts, “Go on – get out – admit the truth, that’s what you need to do!”

Eifion comes into the Deri, telling Mathew that he is owed a pint for providing free B&B at Penrhewl last night; “Cadno wanted you out, but I couldn’t wake you up!” Mathew vows that he will never drink again, then Eifion enlightens Dani, “Sorry if he was late for work – I tried shifting him, but he’d crashed out on our sofa!”

Sioned comes in and notices Garry sitting there; “I was expecting you to say something – about my new job,” she says.

When his mother says that she feels tired, he escorts her to the sofa, insisting that Jason had no right to upset her like that.

They settle down to plan what they will do in the states.

Sioned leaves the shop and is stopped by Eifion, who reminds her he is still waiting for his money; “Don’t you have enough to build your hencoop?” she taunts him. He promises to take her to court if he does not get it.

Then, outside the café, she again encounters Garry, who tells her, “You’ll need a lot more tips to clear that debt – but you could come and work for me. I had a very interesting offer at the club today. I need the help of someone who’s not scared to take a risk. You’ve got fight in you – and style – I admire that!”

Sioned replies that she is nobody’s puppet, but he is adamant he is trying to help her get back on her feet – and the money is good. “If you’ve got money to burn, make me a better offer for Deri Deithio and Ceir Sir Gar,” Sioned tells him, “I want a sensible offer!”
