Meanwhile in the Deri, Dani reminds Garry that he needs to order the summer beers;

then Mathew returns from his few days away. “You still work here, then!” Garry comments.

| "What's this about pay day?" |
Garry’s phone, sitting on the bar, sounds and Dani reads what the text says, “Pay day £££.” He explains that he promised to give Sioned the money today, and Dani demands, “Why is she hassling you? She knows that I run Deri Deithio!”

| Josh finds that Kath is no longer in her bed |
Josh walks into the hospital, but finds Kath’s bed empty,

| "I'm looking for Kath Jones" |
so he goes to enquire of a nurse, who tells him that she has been discharged.

| "We can't divulge personal details" |
On the pretext that he wants to send her flowers, he asks for her address, but is refused, as they cannot divulge personal details.

| Josh simply reads the notes himself |
As soon as the nurse’s back is turned, Josh looks at the patient record, and then leaves.

Mark’s car arrives at Maes-y-Deri,

| "It was bedlam on that ward!" |
with Kath complaining, “I didn’t sleep a wink last night – it was bedlam on that ward! I don’t think it’s a good idea coming back here –

“I could get all the rest I need at Dol’s place.”
Mark insists that he wants to look after her;

| "Keep an eye on me, you mean" |
“Keep an eye on me, you mean,” she replies, “How much peace am I going to get here? Debbie doesn’t want me here.”

Dani and Mathew are installing the hanging baskets outside the Deri, and Dani asks if he is feeling better after his break.

“My hangover’s gone – and you’ve turned into a tycoon!” he says.

| "Garry persuaded me" |
Dani admits that Garry persuaded her to take on the taxi business.

As Sioned approaches, Mathew comments that the flowers will wither now. She wants to talk to Garry,

but Dani explains that he has gone to get the money for her ‘pay day’, and advises her to stop hassling him,

so Sioned hands over the taxi keys to Dani.
In the café, Chester finds that he has only a couple of pounds,

| "We won't be going to the cinema, then" |
so Hannah realises they will not be going to the cinema.

| "How about starting those private lessons?" |
Siôn, who is sitting nearby, proposes that it is an ideal opportunity to start those private lessons; “I’m sure you need to revise – it will pave the way for Hannah next year!”

Hannah seems quite keen, Chester less so. “Come on, then, Sir!” he tells Siôn.

| Dai hears the news about Kath |
Behind the café counter, Debbie is on the phone to Kelly, asking her to cover as Kath is home from hospital. Dai overhears this and is shocked;

“The Cwmderi jungle telegraph not been working then?” says Debbie, “She’s got concussion.”

| "Right, we'll start with grammar" |
At Y Felin, Siôn considers it a good idea to start with grammar, and tests them on mutations;

considering Hannah has been overseas for years, he is impressed with her command of the language.

Debbie arrives at Maes-y-Deri with casseroles from the café for Kath’s and Mark’s lunch.

Debbie tells Mark that she is willing to let Kath stay as she believes she can tell them where Dol is.
In the Deri, Dani is willing to give Sioned the benefit of the doubt; “No-one is all bad, Math,” she says. Then Garry arrives, carrying his briefcase.

“I hope there’s something nice in there for me,” Sioned remarks, but he replies that he has not collected it yet, and she will get it later.

However, he does in fact have the money; when he gets upstairs he opens the case

Kath is enjoying being waited upon, as a cup of tea is brought to wash down her meal; then there is a knock on the door,

and Dai arrives with flowers, which he emphasises are “From Diane and me.”

| "Will you be all right if I go and do some shopping?" |
Mark takes the opportunity to go and do some shopping, handing Dai his cup of tea,

then leaving Kath and Dai alone.

| "Hope you're not back on the tablets!" |
Dai asks, “What are you doing back here? Two weeks ago, you couldn’t leave quickly enough – and now you’re back. I hope you’re not back on the tablets!”

She assures him that she is not, and her return is nothing to do with what happened between them.

“But nothing did happen!” exclaims Dai, and there follows an awkward silence.

Then Dai enquires if she has heard from Non, and is told that Kath has not, and indeed does not want to hear from her.

She then receives a text from Josh,

asking if she is free, as he needs a chat.

Dai thinks it is high time he left.

The tuition continues as Siôn goes on about prepositions which incur nasal mutations, but Chester has had enough;

“It’s time for lunch – we’ve had a double lesson already!”

Siôn has prepared some homework for them; an essay on one of last year’s exam questions. He wants them to read and analyse it, then perhaps they can write an essay next time.
Looking critically at the essay, Chester points out, “Aren’t there two ‘n’s in Gorchmynnol [the imperative]?”

Siôn dismisses it as merely a typo, but Chester sneers, “And you call yourself a translator?”

Hannah assures Siôn that she has enjoyed their lesson.

Dani finds the briefcase on the table, looks at the money and asks why Sioned needs it all in cash.

“That’s how I got the price down,” lies Garry, and does not want Dani to take the money across. “I don’t like you carrying that much cash – not after what happened to Jason’s money!”

Dani describes him as, “You softy! What did I do to deserve you?” He picks up the briefcase and goes.

Kath comes out of Maes-y-Deri, and sees the orange van parked opposite. She asks how Josh found her again,

and he replies, “Every wagon leaves tracks. I want to get to know Debbie, but I shall bring the caravan here first.”

“What – park it on the drive?” demands Kath, but he argues that once he is nearer, it will be easier to pave the way for a meeting.
Meanwhile Mark and Debbie have returned,

Josh says he will let her know when he has found somewhere,

In the alley, Chester is very pleased with the essay; “I can learn this off by heart, then if the question comes up, I’ll get full marks!

Hannah tells him he is off his head, but he assures her, “I’ll change bits of it – I’m not stupid!” He will not listen to her warning that it is too risky,

Garry arrives at Sioned’s flat; “Come in – I don’t bite!” the dressing gown-clad temptress murmurs.

He sits down beside her and she instructs, “Come on, open it for me!”

She looks at the money and then at Garry.
