Sioned replies, “Maybe I shall have to face going to Ed’s funeral one day – if they ever find him. But there’s no point feeling sorry for myself – I need to look to the future.”

Dani is clearing up after Gwern has knocked over a tub of flowers;

Sioned, who is by the chippy, hears this exchange.

Dr Pritchard comes out of the surgery and calls to Siôn, “I’ve got some good news for you – the surgery won’t be downgraded after all.

“I’ll be your GP for the next six months at least.” Siôn is very pleased to hear this and invites the doctor to the Deri for a pint, but he declines, as he will be working this afternoon; he does however fancy something to eat, as long as people in the pub do not talk about their ailments.

Sam’s coffin is on the table at Llwyncelyn, and Colin puts Sam’s cap on it; Britt has a tray of glasses which he takes and also places on the coffin. “It’s supposed to be a celebration of his life, with no long faces,” Colin says,

Anita and Britt arrive, Anita commenting that Sam regarded Llwyncelyn as his home.

Gaynor objects to the positioning of the tray, but Colin assures her, “This is exactly what Dad would have wanted!”

In the Deri, Hywel tells the doctor that it is nice to have some good news, and that he will have to organise an interview on CwmFM.

When Dr Pritchard hears that Hywel is the rugby team coach, he says, “If you want a fly half – I used to play for the Boomerangs – it’s a team in the Brisbane area. I lived in Australia for years.”

Hywel has a phone call from Sheryl, reporting that Esther has a temperature; the doctor offers to call and have a look at her, as he is only next door.

Dani apologises to Garry for snapping at Gwern – she only wanted the flowers to look nice for Garry. “You should let him help you,” Garry advises,

Then Sioned arrives in the Deri; “I’ve got a headache after all that champagne last night!” she tells Garry.

Eileen, who has been looking increasingly sheepish, asks them to excuse her and leaves the room.

Hywel comments that Sheryl likes to look up symptoms on the internet and them jumps to conclusions.

“But I learned my lesson recently,” she says, “I’ve got alopecia – it’s a shame there’s no medicine to sort that out.”

| Eileen resumes her search |
Eileen has found her way to that bedroom again, and resumes her search; the window is open, and the draught makes the door slam. Very soon, Gaynor appears,

It is now time that they were leaving for Lampeter;

“It would be typical of Dad – to be late for his own funeral!” quips Colin. Eileen cannot resist having a final look round before she goes.

Sioned walks across the road from shop to café, and Garry approaches. “I’ve been to see my solicitor – he has gone through everything, and now it’s just a matter of signing it,” he tells her. She invites him up to the flat now,

He goes back to the Deri and hands Dani the envelope; “Your new company,” he says, “She hasn’t signed it yet,

| Sioned is all prepared for the next phase of seduction . . . |
Later, Sioned has dressed in a suitable sexy fashion, and is most dismayed

when Dani comes with the contract for signing. “I’ll be running Deri Deithio from now on, you see,” Dani advises her, “Garry wanted it in my name – this was not my idea.”

Sioned laughs, “So you’re just a tax evasion scam!” Dani is anxious for her to sign,

but she explains, “This is not easy for me – if I sign these, I’ve lost my livelihood.” Dani rather pointedly remarks that she has only herself to blame for that, and that life is not always plain sailing.

“I thought I sensed some tension between you two,” Sioned says, and wants to read though the contract before she signs it, just to make sure.

The mourners have returned, after the funeral, and Gaynor thanks them, as she did not want to come home to an empty house. Eileen is anxious to get back home to Jim, but stays for a drink.

Britt remarks that there were a lot of Sam’s seafaring friends there, and Colin is disappointed that Yvonne did not come.

“Neither did the mystery woman,” adds Colin, “I had been hoping for some clue.” Britt thinks he may never find out who she is.

Gaynor then reports to Colin that his father’s solicitor has arrived; Colin anticipates there are unpaid bills to settle. They go into another room to talk.

The doctor calls back, and is told that Esther has eaten her dinner and is now fast asleep.

He has brought contact details for a trichologist who is an expert on alopecia; he will ask him to send Sheryl more information.

As Britt is telling Gaynor that she cannot believe that Jason would do what he has been accused of,

Colin re-enters the room, looking stunned, and Britt asks him what is wrong.

“It’s Dad’s will,” Colin gasps, “If I’d know, I would have paid for a gold-plated coffin!

Britt is convinced he must have misunderstood, but he shows them all the will; “There it is – in black and white!” Anita was under the impression that Sam did not have a penny to his name.

Colin looks scared and mutters, “He didn’t say a word!”

It is closing time at the Deri, and Sioned has still not brought over the signed contract; Dani stresses that there is no hurry. Garry sends her off to bed, while he locks up.

When Siôn and Elgan Pritchard are leaving, Sioned suddenly arrives;

Garry tells her, “We’re closed!”

She is undeterred; “Stop playing games, Garry! I’m willing to sign, on one condition – I want the money in cash!” He thinks she is joking, but she insists that he paid Jason in cash last week.

“That’s pocket money, compared to this!” he protests, but she is adamant that is what she wants; “And you always get what you want, do you?” he enquires.
