3 April 2017

"Where are you, Chester?"
Hannah walks along the back street and asks Chester on the phone where he is;  “Not far away,” he replies, “That green jumper suits you.”
"Behind you!"
Then he jumps out from the alley;  Hannah wants to go somewhere quiet, as she feels that everyone is staring at them.
"Let's go and have a chat"
She suggests that they go to Chester’s place for a chat.
"I could put some photos over there"
In the Deri, Mathew is thinking of putting up some photos in the bar, but Dani demands why they need them;
"Check it out with me!"
“I don’t care what Garry said – I don’t want your clutter here!   If you get any more ideas, check it out with me – get it?”
She also dismisses his Penrhewl micro-brewery idea
Mathew has another idea;  “I’m brewing some beer at Penrhewl, and I think it’s good stuff.   I could bring in a few samples.”   Dani immediately dismisses this, saying they run a decent pub here.
They discuss honouring the memory of Ed
In the café, Kelly floats the idea that they should hold a small occasion to remember Ed – something private, with just friends and mates from the rugby club.   Hywel had been thinking much the same thing;
Hywel feels bad about what he said
“We should raise a glass to him, especially after everything we did to him!   I feel terrible about the things I said to him!”   Kelly points out that there is only one person to blame for what happened.
"I actually saw her abusing him!"
“I only saw through her because I actually saw her abusing him,” she admits, “Otherwise I would have continued treating him like dirt.   I was all he had, and I should have done more.”
They stop when Sioned comes downstairs;
Even Beti looks rather hostile
“Don’t stop talking because of me,” she snarls.
"And don't let Sioned know about it"
When Sioned has left, Hywel says, “I don’t think it’s a good idea to let her know what we’re organising for Ed – we have to make sure she doesn’t find out.”
Gwen brings Hywel's sandwich
Gwen brings over his sandwich and he leaves.
Dani is looking for invoices . . .
In the Deri, Dani is trying to find some invoices for Garry, who is attempting to sort out the VAT.
. . . when Sioned demands to see Garry
Sioned comes in and demands to see Garry;  when told he is busy, she marches upstairs, regardless,
"I want to see the boss, not the secretary!"
commenting, “Shut it!   I want to see the boss, not the secretary!”
"You don't live here any more, remember?"
Garry reminds her, “You don’t live here any more, remember!”
"I've had enough of this place!"
She tells him that she has had enough of the place and the people who live here;
"I'm not Cwmderi's agony aunt!"
Garry replies that he is not Cwmderi’s agony aunt.
“I don’t know who else to turn to,” she goes on, “You’re the only one who understands what I’m going through.   You abused Sheryl!”
This immediately angers Garry
This touches a nerve;  he orders her to stop there and wants her to leave, but she presses on, “I’m desperate!   I want to know how you got through it!”
"It didn't lead to her killing herself!"
“Your situation is totally different!” he insists, “Yes, I abused Sheryl – but it didn’t lead to her killing herself!”
Sioned explains her reasons
She explains that although what she did to Ed was terrible, it started when he slept with Angela just before the wedding, but she went ahead with it because she loved him so much.
"People are making it harder for me"
She continues, “I don’t know what happened afterwards – part of me was angry for what he did.   But while I’m trying to deal with it, everyone is making it so much harder for me.   They forgave you.”
"It took a while for that to happen"
He points out that it took a while for that to happen, and people might have seen he was trying to change – it helped that a few were afraid of him too.
"Act the grieving widow a bit more"
“You should act the grieving widow a bit more,” he advises, “It’s going to take time;  you’ll have to develop a thick skin and be stubborn enough not to give in.
"People have to see you're suffering"
“People have to see you’re suffering.”
The estimate for the Bentley's MOT
He hands her an envelope;  “You asked for an estimate for the Bentley to pass the MOT.   I wasn’t going to give it to you, but here it is.”
"How about beans on toast?"
Chester offers Hannah beans on toast, and she comments, “You’re not much of a host!”
"I'm all alone at Bryntirion tonight"
Then she informs him that she is alone at Bryntirion tonight, as Dai and Diane are going to some posh council event, and will be back very late.
"We never get any 'alone time' do we?"
“We never get any ‘alone time ’, do we?”
Chester is floundering here
Chester seems awkward.
“Here, your mother, sister or brother could arrive at any time,” she points out,
"We could watch a film . . . or something"
“Tonight we could do whatever we want – watch a film . . . or something.”
Chester is even more nervous
Chester is increasingly nervous, and suggests they could go to the café for lunch;
"Let's have lunch in the café"
she exhibits some disappointment at his reaction.
"I couldn't contact you yesterday"
Eileen visits Sioned again, and says she could not contact her yesterday;
"Were you afraid I'd done the same as Ed?"
“I was out – you were afraid I’d done the same as Ed, weren’t you?” Sioned replies, “I walked around Carmarthen and caught the little train from Bronwydd to the picnic place – Ed took me there for a picnic once – it’s lovely!”
At least one person does not like Sioned
Then she opens an envelope she found on the doormat and is horrified to find a sheet of paper with the one word, ‘LLOFRUDD(murderer).   She immediately suspects her mother of sending it;
Sioned makes an unfounded assumption . . .
“It came while I was out, and you virtually followed me up here – making sure I’d open it, were you?”
. . . which greatly offends her mother . . .
Eileen protests that she came to check on Sioned, not to be accused;  “You need your head read!” she exclaims.
. . . then she jumps to another wild conclusion
Then Sioned discovers that the envelope containing the accusation looks identical to the one with the quote from Garry.
"Oh no, Sioned!"
She rushes out of the flat, with a determined look.
Ed's commemoration planning meeting
Kelly and Hywel consult with Dani, who recommends Thursday afternoon, as it is normally quiet then;  the rugby club will put some money behind the bar.
"What's this – a conspiracy?"
Garry wants to know what the conspiracy is about, and is told about the idea for a secret get-together in memory of Ed.
". . . because of her!"
“We can’t do anything public, because of her!” Dani tells him, as Sioned comes in again.
Now she thinks they are all in it together
“You’re all in this together, are you?” she demands, and shows the message;  “You were joking that you wanted to help me – and then you leave a note like this!”
"You can't honestly believe I did that!"
“You can’t honestly believe I did that!” he protests, “When did I get the chance?   I’ve been upstairs all morning – but you know that, as you burst in uninvited!   You’re bonkers!”
Eileen has just come in, and Garry tells her, “Take her home, Eileen!” then warns Sioned, “You’re not welcome here!”
Sioned launches into her tirade
Sioned shouts, “You’re a hypocrite – what I did was no different to what Garry did – he hit Sheryl, and you’re all best mates with him!
"At least I tell the truth to your faces!"
“At least I tell the truth to your faces – I don’t hide behind some note!”   Eileen marches her out of the pub.
Dani has had enough of this
During this exchange, Dani has escaped to the bottom of the stairs,
"I didn't know he had a history of violence"
Mathew follows and tells her he did not realise that Garry had a history of violence.    Dani stresses that what happened with Sheryl was a long time ago, but Mathew is appalled that she married someone who hits women,
"He has changed now, right?"
despite her insistence that he has changed now.
Garry tells her that Sioned has now gone,
"What did Sioned want earlier?"
and Dani asks what she wanted earlier;  “She was asking about an MOT,” he lies,
"I'd never hurt you – you know that, don't you?"
and then adds, “I’d never hurt you – you know that, don’t you?
Garry kisses her
That was an entirely different time in my life.”
Gwen serves two lunches
In the café, Gwen brings Chester and Hannah their lunch,
"Do you want to come over tonight?"
and Hannah asks, “Do you want to come over tonight?   What’s wrong?   If you don’t fancy me, then tell me straight.”
Chester is all tongue-tied
He stumbles over his words;  he wants to come – but . . .
"You've not done it before, have you?"
“Oh, you’ve – not done it before, have you?” Hannah realises, but he boasts that of course he has.
"There's no pressure"
“It’s OK, you know – we don’t have to rush into anything – there’s no pressure,” she assures him,
Chester feels more relieved now
and he admits he feels like a prat.
"I don't understand you at all!"
In Sioned’s flat, Eileen is furious;  “I don’t understand you at all – after everything you said last week, you’re still burning bridges with people trying to help you!”
"I was trying to stand up for myself!"
Sioned insists she was only trying to stand up for herself.
I've had enough!"
“I’ve had enough!” snaps Eileen.
"I want you to stay away from Dani and me"
Garry walks in;  “I can’t let you behave like that in my pub,” he informs her, “I want you to stay away from Dani and me.
"You're banned!"
“You’re banned, until I say otherwise!”
Sioned makes an abject apology
Sioned says she is sorry and realises that he did not write the note.
"You don't do yourself any favours, do you?"
He warns her, “You don’t do yourself any favours, do you?   Attacking the people trying to help you.   You need to change, Sioned, or there’s no hope for you!”
I'm here for you, Dani"
Mathew is again badgering Dani, “I’m here for you if you need to talk about anything.   I didn’t realise he had that history – I just want to be a friend.”
"You want more – and that's not going to happen!"
Dani rages, “You’re here – I can’t forget that, can I?   But a friend?   No, because I know you want more – and that’s not going to happen!”
"It already has happened!"
He points out that it did happen;
"Once – but never again!"
“Once – but never again!” she growls.
Eileen is about to go
As Eileen puts on her coat,
"Why am I like this, Mam?"
Sioned pleads, “Why am I like this, Mam?”   Her mother replies that she has always been the same;  it is her nature to be a little girl who has lost control.
"I just want him back"
“I really loved him, you know – I just want him back,” Sioned wails.
"He's not coming back!"
“He’s not coming back!” Eileen states firmly, “Things were terrible before he left, so don’t try to kid yourself.    If you want things to improve, you’ve heard the truth from me and from Garry –
It is now up to Sioned
“it’s up to you now!”
